Sometime ago I was on a Nishikido Ryo kick so naturally I placed this on my to watch list. It sounded like a good show but months past and I was never in the mood to watch something so Melodramatic. Until I read a review that said "Surprisingly Funny". I turned on the first episode to see if this person was pulling my leg and I was completely surprised.

The prevailing mood is hilarious as the siblings spend their time swindling people of their money. And even though these siblings have such a heavy past hanging over them their banter with each other is fast, upbeat, and hilarious. Nevertheless the story doesn't seem silly but has depth because of the serious and sad

I don't know how I came across this drama, but the synopsis and poster made me check it out. I think this drama has a lot of elements in it which makes it a great watch. There's murder mystery, revenge, sadness, romance, deception and humour all in one drama. A likable cast, good writing and decent direction makes it one of the best Japanese dramas for me.

I expected a lot of darkness (look at the poster!) and some melodrama in it. The drama does have a dark tone to it but it has comedic relief which makes it less serious than it is. It was mostly focused on finding the killer and the emotions of the three siblings. Although their motive seems like they are

• Both have traumatized protagonists who have suffered from a tragic loss and who aim to take revenge on a mysterious culprit. Both are fast-paced,witty and include lots of hilarious dress ups!:D plus, they both have a NEWS member as lead actor!;)
• Both stories are about changing your identity to get revenge.quartet is certainly grittier, and darker but follows the same idea of trying to find the truth through lies.

I searched for this drama for 2 weeks! I wanted to watch it again so badly! So happy I found it :'D (I couldn't remember the name of this drama long story I think I watched it about 3 years ago) so I went through all 202 dramas to find this.

Forgettable, i watched this only for Erika Toda, and was a little bit bored at the ending, all this drama and trying to be more of a brighter tone didn't really worked. And the detective elements were poorly included.

The ending left mixed feelings for me. I would have liked it if they had killed the cop. And did they really have to go to jail for their "crimes"? Ah, well. It was a different kind of drama and ending.

And all those incest hints? LOL. I was totally shipping both brothers with the sister. I blame that on the actors having good chemistry with each other. Their emotional connection really worked me up. But I am glad they didn't go with it. It would have ruined the entire drama. Good thing that romance wasn't the main focus. Overall- a great drama and worth a watch! :D

"Ryusei no Kizuna" was seriously good. Definetly worth a watch.

The ending made me feel so happy, and even though I'm glad that Kouichi did the right thing by turning himself into the police, I was really sad. (At least he got out in the end...)
I still think Kashiwabara deserved to die, though...he made Kouichi and the others go through a lot of pain.

yeah for me too, i think that Kashiwabara deserved to die ..but Kouichi's decision was quite more painful than killing Kashiwabara in one shot ...
like what Kouichi said ,"You will live. Live...and pay for your crimes. And continue watching how we live from now on...Live... and watch the family of the deceased laugh and cry...Dying and having it ends is wishful thinking..No matter how painful it is...Even if it's more painful than death...you will just live"...---->> i think letting Kashiwabara live is more painful than killing him.

I think you're right. It was so cool when Kouichi said that. In a way, I guess I'm kind of happy Kouichi didn't kill Kashiwabara. Kouichi is really strong. :D

Btw, you know how Yukinari gave Shizuna the ring, did he propose to her? I mean, did they actually get married?

Yeah, you got the word ~~.."cool"..agree to also what you said, he's a strong and open-minded guy.

Speaking of Yukinari,i doesn't recognized him in the ending haha! I think its bec. he was not there in the last scene..xD..hmm, i think they get married but because the mainline of this drama was about the 3-siblings maybe the writer decided to set aside the love story of him and Shizuna ...xD///
What do you think?
• amna_44 Oct 30, 2012

SORRY, forgot to put "Reveal spoiler"

Kouichi is definetly my fav. character. I have him as my profile pic. XD But I love Taisuke and Shizuna as well.

Set aside...? Oh my God, to me, it felt like the writer completely threw away the idea of them getting married. XD Hahaha!! I think it would be cute if they got married.

Oh, yeah, before finding out about who the actual killer was, who did you think it was?

• ashertwinker456 Oct 30, 2012
Yeah , just check your profile .. :)
I love Taisuke too and Shizuna...Taisuke was very loyal there ..xD
Haha, yeah me too , Since comedy was one of the genre of this drama , the writer may end it on a wedding ..haha ~
uhmm, i suspected Togami's father since Taisuke confirmed that he was the guy he saw on the day of killing until chapter 9...but on Chapter 10 i got confused and suspected Kashiwabara until Chapter 11..Glad that my intuition never failed me once...xD
How about you???

• amna_44 Nov 2, 2012
XD.Haha. Do you think Taisuke was really in love with Shizuna?

First,I thought it was Shizuna's real father...for some reason....but then because of Taisuke...I started to suspect Yukinari's dad.
To tell you the truth, I actually didn't suspect Kashiwabara for a long time, cuz' I thought he was a good guy, but...Guess I was wrong...
• ashertwinker456 Nov 4, 2012
Uhm,maybe it's only a brother love ...xD ..what do you think?
• amna_44 Nov 6, 2012
XD!!! Haha!! I thought it was the "other" love! It only felt like Kouichi loved her like an older brother.
• ashertwinker456 Oct 14, 2012
Watching those three swindling people makes me laugh always....haha..
even though it's not that very catchy, i found it really interesting from the start until the end ,,haha...
I love Koichi's attitude here, he's goal to find the killer was very consistent...although kindness rules his heart at the end...he still find a way to make the killer suffer ^^
Shizuna and Togami are very indeed a cute couple here, even though Shizuna swindles other people..Togami was still loved her..that's the true beauty of love..
Taisuke here, uhmm, i don't know how can i describe him but for me he's a kind brother here, really really kind here...he's very loyal too! Haha...
All in all, this drama presents many different moral attitudes...
You will find here different characters with different sides..
I really indeed into this drama ~
I hope i can find another one just like this ...
