I usually drop comedy dramas like Otomen after the first 5 mins, but this drama is really cute.

From the first Episode to the last one I had a smile on my face.

Seeing how Asuka is trying to hide his true self is somehow exciting.
I liked how his arch rival Tonomine turns every woman into a butterfly.
How Tachibana stalks Asuka and Ryo tries to protect Asuka.
Every character has its own cuteness they are the reason this drama should be watched.

Its not one of the super great manga adaptions like Hana Yori Dango or others, but its a drama I´m happy I watched.

This show is so cute. I love Asuka he is just adorable. It is an enjoyable show and the first (or second) Asian live-action show I had ever seen. It is a good show for a first time audience that made me want more. It really got me into the whole live-action thing.(:

  • Both have random funny scenes. They are not so as normal comedies.

  • In Otomen, Asuka acts like a popular, manly man. However, he secretly likes girly hobbies such as sewing. In Hotaru No Hikari, it's the opposite, Hotaru acts like a typical OL, but at home she's a slob. Ironically, both love interest in these series are the exact opposite of the male/female leads.

This drama has got the coolest ending. Love it!

And Okada is hot and adorable! You can never get tired if seeing that guy in a kendo uniform.

I loved the manga but I'm not a fan of the drama. It doesn't makes me react as mush as the manga

well yeah it`s not the drama of the year(2009) either but still it could be a little more famous, since i saw dramas more bad than this one (which i believe it was quite a good one)which were more popular despite of not being worth wasting time on them....my opinion ^^

I felt disapointed with this drama. I read the manga and i thought that there will be a line in the story but it seemed that it was the same pattern for the 12th episodes. It's a good drama when you are bored but it's not the drama of the century.
