Watched this drama because I am a Tanaka Misako fan. And she was her usual lovely and bubbly self in this family drama about a family in which the mother, a recent widow, realizes that she is pregnant even though she is 50.

An interesting and informative drama. Seemed a bit pro-choice at first, but that makes sense in a country like Japan, with such a slow birth rate.

Some shoddy acting here and there made me slightly annoyed but it was all forgiven once the baby was born.

A good drama. Not the best but it addresses a socially relevant issue: older age mothers in society and the issues that come along with them.

I was a little hesitant at first to watch this, but I really enjoyed this drama. I was thinking that a 50 year old who gets pregnant was an odd plot line, but man-oh-man were there some extra plot lines thrown into the story. I would say the drama is pretty believable, the cast was amazing, and it definitely taught me a thing or two about how Japan views later-in-life pregnancies and all the complications that stem from it.

  • Both handles a story about giving birth. In 14 sai no haha it's teenage girl giving birth and in Umareru it's +50 year old mother giving birth. Both dramas are really good.

  • Both of them emphasize not ordinary but "rare" things in life -one would think-, how family members can be against this extra-ordinariness initially and then understand more about life together with the viewer.

Just finished it. To be honest, I never would have watched this drama if Maki wasn't look super brutiful every ep, but all in all it ended up being pretty good. There were definitely some touching moments, and I was glad to see a anti abortionist pro life message throughout the show.

I think this is an amazing drama with a perfect cast! I thought it would be boring first, but from the first episode on the many side-stories, problems, heartbreaking scenes and lovely characters really captured my heart. Totally recommending this. :)
