[edit]Synopsis

The story revolves around a young woman named Mei, who was rescued as a young girl by someone calling himself her "butler." With only a vague memory, though, the experience seems like just a dream. But one day, after her parents' accidental death, he appears: Rihito comes from a line of outstanding butlers, and he has been appointed to serve her! Now her ordinary life has completely flipped, as she discovers that she's actually the heiress to a fortune, and is forced to transfer to St. Lucia Girls' Academy, where all the students have butlers! As a result, her childhood friend Kento decides to enroll in a butler school so that he can stay close to her. --Tokyograph

I thought that Mei-chan no Shitsuji was a really awesome drama. The story is unexpected. It's not a story that is typically seen, especially the forbidden love angle.I only wish that there was more romance. There weren't many of those romantic, awkward moments that I usually look forward to in romantic dramas. The cast did great, and every character was able to stand out, no matter how small the role was. Mei-chan no Shitsuji really focused on the value of trust, and friendship throughout the drama, which I really admired. The writing was done well enough that the point could get across while still holding onto the story. I usually don't rewatch dramas often, but I would probably want to watch this drama again. This an amazing drama! If you like Hana Kimi or Ikemen Desu Ne, you will love these. The plots between the shows are different but all leave you with the warm lovey-dovey feeling at the end. I liked this drama not only because of the great acting, music, and plots but because that they had just enough episodes to where I wasn't feeling like I was wasting my time. I was never bored watching this show, I was always left wondering what would happen next and resisting the temptation to stay up late and watch the next episode.

  • Oomasa Aya the girl who played Sunako portrayed an entirely different role here. Here shes more of the lady that sunako tried hard to achieve. Plus you might enjoy a swarm of Ikemen butlers like the one AYA has, or Mukai, Hiro and Sato Takeru

  • The acting is very similar. Both casts are great and really pull off their characters well. Both dramas have a relatively small amount of episodes, so each episode is jam-packed with tons of plot twists and amazing scenes!

Really strange storyline...I wish they would've shown a little more romance between the main characters. Plus it seemed kind of rushed right to the end.
Hiro was the only thing that kept me going. :P

It's a little weird, but still good enough. Since Mizushima Hiro plays the main role I fought my way through it. The chemistry lacked here and then, though. ;)

this was great i only wish the chemistry between Mei and Rihito would`ve been more intense but still, it was fun and entertaining... i guess any girl would wish at least to experience having one ikemen shitsuji just for herself...wahhh wouldn`t that be great? ><"
