[edit]Synopsis

A story of pure love between the son of a man who runs a ship repair factory beset with financial troubles and the well-bred daughter of a national jewelry chain store owner. The backdrop of the story is Yokohama. If you feel you have lost the purity of your soul by watching stories about womanizers seducing impudent women, or by carrying out calculated maneuvers in your own love life, here is a story for you. A boy and a girl from highly different social backgrounds meet and fall in love. Their love, of course, faces a lot of obstacles. The setting is in Yokohama, a modern port city known for its romantic atmosphere. Hiroto Kanzaki (Kazuya Kamenashi) works hard every day and night for the survival of a small ship repair factory (inherited from his father) as well as the survival of his mother and younger brother, who are suffering from health problems. Living such an underprivileged life, Hiroto has forgotten how to smile. In contrast to him, Nao (Haruka Ayase) is the daughter of a popular jewelry shop owner in a fashionable street in Yokohama. She attends a prestigious exclusive women's college and grew up cheerful and blessed with affluent love. From the moment Hiroto meets her, his closed mind slowly opens up to Nao, who is so innocent that she utters whatever she thinks. Their three close friends, who are also 20 year old's, play an important role in their developing relationship. The scriptwriter is Eriko Kitagawa, who earned the nickname "The Goddess of Love Stories." This classic love story enables those who are in the same generation to feel empathy, or be envious of the characters' lives; and the rest, who were once 20 years old's, to reminisce about their own "Love of My Life."

I originally watched this drama due to me being a fan of Kaname but this drama was seriously good. In all the other dramas there are always so many complications between every love story. Some characters can get quite annoying. The thing that I really loved about this one was that it's just a pure love story. There are not all those complications.

This drama can make you feel happy inside. It's quite addictive so you find that the drama starts and finishes before you know it, like a movie. It was such a sweet story and it didn't have any unnecessary side stories going on. It focused on the storyline and ended with you loving everything about it! A must watch drama.

I have re-watched this drama 3 times in the past two years. I love it! The story is so simple, and yet so beautiful. While some of the acting from the not lead characters can get lame, the leads really shine! There were scenes in the drama that made me sob even when I re-watched it. I'm not a person that cries easily, but this drama got to me.
I really love it and I suggest it to anyone! Please give this drama a chance! It'll make you happpy/sad all at once!

I enjoyed this drama. I had seen Kame in another drama (Sapuri) and wasn't particularly impressed with him but in this story his character is really strong and his acting is very good. I thought it was a really delicate and poetic story and thought that the ending was great as they caught me by surprise.

This was really great. It's by far the best performance I've seen Kame give. I've never really thought he was a very good actor, I liked him for his personality, but this show completely changed my mind about his acting ability.

The only things I didn't like were Koki's charater being a bit too slapstick in an otherwise serious story, and naration is sometimes overly melodramatic, with some wierd phrases (jewels from the Titanic?!?) I also felt the ending was a little flat. Maybe it should have been extended a bit??

This drama had me from hello it was slowed paced so the viewer can feel like they are witnessing something siring slowly in the pot between these two. This is my favorite role with Kazuya in it this drama is old school and not glossy at all so don't let the cast fool you its emotional a modern Romeo and Juliet accept no one dies ) I'm glad i went along for the ride.
