"Sassy Girl, Choon-hyang" is the 2005 interpretation of the "Legend of Choon-hyang". The story begins when Lee Mong-ryong is transferred from Seoul to a high school in Namwon, North Jeolla Province. However, after meeting with Mong-ryong's first love, Chae-rin, Mong-ryong's love toward Chun-hyang is shattered, although Chun-hyang's love remains unwavering. One day, Byeon Hak-do, CEO of a famous entertainment company, appears in her life. He exudes confidence that he can make any woman fall for him. But as Chun-hyang shows no interest in him, his self-esteem is damaged profoundly. Byeon Hak-do is determined to make her love him. --KBS Global Marketing

The first couple episodes were really good, the middle episodes were either frustrating due to too much indecisiveness on the male lead's part, and the latter episodes were ok although they still made me a bit frustrated. Also the CEO going after CH was just wierd and how manipulative he was made me angry and creeped out.

This is just an ok arranged marraige drama when compared to Sweet 18, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

The acting was fine as the characters all had their strengths, flaws, and unique presonalities without an excess of overacting. I don't think I'll watch this again because there are dramas I enjoyed more that are less frustrating which equals a no go for me on rewatch value.

This drama is a nice one containing a good story with great actors that knows how to deliver feelings and emotions. At first i was captivated by the story it's a combination between romance, youth, sadness, joy and even action. I even loved the supporting roles i thought they've done a great job and their acting was awesome. The only thing that i didn't like about this drama that it could really go slow sometimes but after skipping the unwanted parts i found myself comfortable watching it. I particularly loved the 2 first and the last episode i believe they're the best episodes in the drama, anyway, this is a good drama if u don't mind that it would get slow in the middle.

  • In Delightful girl the lead male is engaged by his parents but holds a former love in his heart. in MaeRi the lead female is engaged by her father and holds a love in her heart. The are certainly different MaeRi has way more music, but Delightful Girl has a happier ending.

  • Both dramas are written by the same team and it shows, they both have strong female leads who have to go into hiding while their "fated" love finds them. (I liked delightful girl best tho)

Just started and I'm liking the main girl so far. I like it more than My Girl too. I had to struggle through that one. Let's see how it continues.

Finished this today. Had been on my "to see list" for a while because of the good reviews it have gotten. It's a pretty good and enjoyable drama, but not one of the best.

I also agree on the "drags in the middle", and a bit in the end. This drama could be better if it was shorter, maybe 12 episodes instead of 17. If i'm correct this is the first drama from the "Hong Sisters", it would be intresting to see how this drama would look like if they had done this drama today, with a bit more experience and more the abilities of today.

Only 2 episodes in so far but... the Hong sisters sure do have a thing for writing horrifically more-obnoxious-than-usual second female leads, don't they :\

I put off watching this show and then decided to give it a try. I'm hooked after one episode! Love the playfulness and the chemistry between the leads :D
