Let's make this review as Systematic as possible, I love this show so I'll try to make this one STICK! :)

STORY------ 9/10 ?????
This is one Korean show that had a story line based on gender bender genres of mangas and manhwas (as far as I know). I think it is by far one of the most successful or the most successful one to date. The story is basic, if you're familiar with this sort of plot, what I fancied is the attention to detail that they had, for you to take this kind of scratched framework and make it interesting for viewers is really a skill. I loved the way each of the subs-plots unfold with every episode,the sequence of events and how it was presented, the conflicts were showed in a way that you will laugh but at the back of your mind you'll think that it's hard to be in that situation. However the ending was a bit weak for me, I just wished there was a bit more to it. Just a little dash of sparkle will do. But it satisfies the curious mind never the less.

ACTING/CAST------ 10/10 ?????
I was very much satisfied with the cast,this is a role I didn't imagine Yoon Eun Hye (Eun Chan) would actually take, if you remember her form "Goong" she was as feminine as ever then a sudden transformation, she played this part so well I was amazed. This was the first time for me to encounter Gong Yoo (Han Gyul), I was fond of his style in this drama sense of fashion, etc. He embodied the character of Choi Han Gyul, he owned that character like it was made for him (even the writer of this drama agrees. The supporting cast was superb so perfect 10 for this.

MUSIC------9/10 ?????
The musical score was pretty, I still sing the opening theme up to this point whenever I remember it, then again rating all of the show's background songs, instrumentals, you don't recall all, there are these few that you still have to go though your memory palace to remember from what scenes was it used.

REWATCH VALUE ------ 10/10 ?????
Oh you'll rewatch this for sure, It has a very high charisma for rewatch, it's very invigorating, a feel good show. It's the kind of show that you instantly remember when you sit on your couch one lazy afternoon, and there's nothing good on the TV and when you want to activate your inner love bug, just for the fun of it, even during you're bitterly single days. :))

OVERALL ------ 10/10 ????? *Clap Clap
Overall it's very much OUTSTANDING AND IS A TWO THUMBS UP ON RECOMMENDATIONS, Like a summer chick flick :P

P.S
Try looking for a copy that has good subs, I've seen some with crappy subtitles it will ruin your day. The Tagalog audio dub is also good for those who speak in this native tongue, although they modified the dialogue a bit, it made it more funny, I swear. :)

I can't nit pick anything about this drama that I don't like. And I've tried. Its beautifully directed, the actors are perfect for their parts (yoon eun hye is believable as a boy, not to mention awesome passionate acting from everyone), the sets and cinematography are wonderful (I swear it raised the tourism in Korea), the music is just great and unique (it doesn't reuse songs like the usual hyped up dramas), and it feels FRESH.

That's my word for it...FRESH. It feels GOOD to watch it and I can't really say that for any other drama other than It Started with a Kiss.

Coffee Prince is probably the best drama I've seen. Ever.

I've had the very unfortunate experience for it to be one of the first dramas I've ever watched, so since then all the ones I've watched after was crap. It seriously raised my standards.

The rewatch value is VERY high. I've seen it so many times now (this site should have a # times watched option!) maybe about 4 or 5. I will probably make it an every year or second year thing. Even my very white-washed brother and skeptical mother watched and enjoyed it. Yeah it can be a family thing too.

The storyline was great and I felt like every single scene was important. When you watch it its like you're so engrossed in what's happening you don't even notice that time is passing. The story was so good that I was surprised it wasn't a book to begin with. I think its best to watch in your late teen - 20s years, when you can really empathize with the characters after all the heart breaks. It helps you move on and has good morals.

If you want to watch something inspirational, creative, fresh, heart warming, heart wrenching, sometimes tear inducing, beautiful, hilariously funny, wholesome and passionate drama/comedy, then watch it. It makes you laugh, cry, sympathize, fall in love, be inspired, and just plain happy. Its a MUST SEE.

p.s.
If you're sick and tired of the lame "peck on the cheek" kiss scenes (usually at the end) that you see in soooo many dramas, then see this. Passionate acting and kissing. This drama satisfies everything that you don't get in all the other dramas. read more

You're Beautiful

Both drama's feature a female lead who gets dragged into a situation that pressures her to pretend to be male. I also really loved the chemistry between the female lead and her male friends in both. Coffee Prince is a bit more mature, but both romances are truly endearing.

The World That They Live In

They have the same kind of mature yet funny love. Also, some of the characters are alike and they share an actor. If you liked one, you'll definitely like the other.

This was amazing. Great story, great pacing, great characters and interactions. Loved it.

Gong Yoo acted his pants off in this. Seriously. So amazing.

I am watching this drama for the 5th time already,the first time I watched it I was just too in love with it,I watched it 2 more times,and then a year later and then again last year and then this year too ;D this is a magical drama,and i think that magic is coming from how perfect the actors/actresses are together :)

I wonder why I can't get myself to watch this, eventhough this has such a good reviews, I have liked so many well-reviewed dramas, but this...I can't bring myself to watch this half of one episode further. :/ I lost interest, but if I could watch it furtherI believe it'd be more interesting, maybe someday I'll watch this. ^^ Do you have same kind of experiences, that first episode can't bring that good drama feeling to you and you might drop a good drama in such a hurry? :D

  yes, I guess it can only get better :D maybe I'm more confused with dramas that fall apart at the end or the middle of the drama, good example: The Musical...I was dissapointed, the beginning was better though. Good drama should be able to keep the interest from the beginning to the end, no matter what kind of end it has. I don't always prefer the most predictable ones..

  I haven't seen that one yet lol ... everyone keeps on telling me all these dramas an I get all excited an I stare at my laptop for like an hour debating on what to watch it's so hard to choose cause i really look into like shows even if the show or movie SUCK S ill still watch .... I like one of those "Come on it's only once in a life time" kinda thing for me ... but yea you are right only a good drama should be able to being the best from the beginning all the way to they end

Coffee Prince is like one of those perfect shows that will make you a fan of K-dramas (& J-dramas) even if dramas were never your thing. I say this as someone who hates Western "Romantic Comedies". This show ruined me forever <3

Coffee Prince is a great love story! It's funny, absolutely adorable, romantic and it also has lots of drama in it. It's so worth watching and I definetely recommend it to anyone.
