Hardworking Geum Jan Di attends the exclusive Shinhwa High School by a scholarship she gets because of an incident. She finds her shallow, privileged classmates unbearable, especially the notorious F4. Rich, handsome, and arrogant, Goo Jun Pyo, Yoon Ji Hoo, So Yi Jung, and Song Woo Bin are the kings of the school and no one, not even the teachers, dare challenge them. No one, that is, except Jan Di. Angry at their rudeness, Jan Di tells off F4 leader Jun Pyo, bringing a world of trouble upon herself. Although Jun Pyo persists on bullying her, he begins to find himself attracted to Jan Di.

If I could some this drama up in one word it would be 'meh'. Boys before flowers isn't that special, it was kinda disapointing to be frank. Yes the actors were brilliant but the storyline lacked spark.

I'll start with the storyline, it was ok at the beginning and good through the middle but the end was an anti-climax and a half. The ammount of cliches in this show is annoying, I've seen it all before. I haven't seen any other adaptions of this show and since watching Boys Before Flowers I don't think I will. It was average at best.

However the actors in this show, particulary Lee Min Ho and Kim Hyun Joong were awesome. Each and every emotion was potrayed brilliantly and had

For those of you who have watched the other versions of this drama, which are "Hana Yori Dango" and "Meteor Garden" and enjoyed it, may want to watch this Korean version. Extras have been added to the story line which round everything up better like secondary characters back stories and more of a rivalry between the 'Rui and Domyoji' equivalent characters. Jan Di's character has been made more capable to cope with all the rotten situations thrown at her and more smarter than Tsukushi's character.

For those of you who haven't watched any of the previous versions of this drama, watching this will take you on a wonderful journey and a roller coaster of emotions, just make sure you have a pillow handy to hide yourself

When the F4 showed up whenever Geum Jan Di (which was practically every episode) I let it slide but that one episode where the F4 saves her in FREAKING MACAU,CHINA !.I was done, I mean how the heck did they know where she was in a foreign city? Maybe I missed something but that moment still bugs me whenever I think about this show.

It's average and cliche, but it's entertaining and nice to watch.

I seriously disliked this drama. So overrated. It got boring after a few episodes plus it was too cliche. Too overrated.

This was my first korean drama.....and I loved this drama back then. I have seen BOF over 4 times and each time I saw this show again I saw the painful truth that this show has WAY to many cliches and it probably is overrated for what it's worth.

It's not that great of the show and that is why I liked your comment....one thing you should know though is BOF is not a drama to be taken seriously....it never has been and never will. It's light and fluffy that's all it is. Nothing to get serious over.

Wow, my first drama. I probably wont re-watch it, as I think it wasnt that great, but if it wasnt for this, I wouldnt have gotten into the Kdrama & Kpop world. (And seen more of Lee Min ho's better dramas & roles!) So this drama holds a special place in my heart :D <3 Also, despite not liking a lot of moments, it also has really sweet moments that I remember. AND THE MUSIC. First time I ever heard a SHINee song, and after finishing the drama downloaded the whole OST, then looked up more k-music, and well... The rest is history ^^

I have t say that it really wasn't the best option on your first time watching a Kdrama. If you allow a recommendation Faith and City Hunter show how good Lee Min Ho is as an actor! you should watch it :)

I really enjoyed this drama a lot. I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. I kind of wanted more when it came the to the last episode, but I was satisfied with the ending.

Noone can beat Lee Min Ho as a Goo Joon Pyo IMO :D And I was seen 1/4 episode of japanesse and get bored easily xD I also saw taiwanese verssion which was quite good- I like main woman character but the main man character wasn't so awesome like in korean verssion :P He was a bit boring. Goo Joon Pyo is simply masterpiece. And I evaluate Meteor Garden on the 8 degree and BOF on 9 or 10. I only dislike music, I like k-pop but I don't like so sweet, candy pop. Music was really annoying xD

lol, I can't believe myself that I'm rewatching this drama after all those years. This was my first korean drama (i loved it). Now... on 2014 I'm rewatching it and I'm still fangirling (don't judge me).
It's not that great, it's just really really adorable!

This is a 6 for me. This drama was just too long, many unnecessary episodes. Again too much "victim" mentality. The boys were just cute that's why people love it. That's it. This is 26 episodes of your precious time to watch cuteness. I think that's too much.

when I finished watching this drama, it was like... like I lost the best boyfriend ever! it was magnificent and aaaa... GREAT! I found out about Lee Min Ho in this drama and wow I'm in love with him. I'm trying to watch the jp version but it's kind of hard. Since you get adapted to the first one you see.

It's kind of "if you see a bear as your mum, u will think it's your mum" thing. :D
    • leahakiko Feb 7, 2014
random here but could you not use "jap"? it's a racial slur in my country.. if you don't want to type of japanese you could shorten it to jp or jpn.
