The Case of Itaewon Homicide

A college student, Jo Jong Pil (Song Jung Ki) is found stabbed to death in the restroom of a fast - food restaurant in Iteawon, South Korea. Two Korean-Americans, Robert J. Pearson (Jang Geun Suk) and Alex, are known to have gone into the bathroom after Jong-pil and become prime suspects. The prosecution must now determine which of the two committed the crime.

Based on a true story The Case of Itaewon Homicide contains the touch of the real life. I think it is somehow ironic to say that story was "good". Well it was good, or let's say the story was told good. The setting and costumes were not particularly eye-catching but they do not distract you either, and the movie was directed in way that takes you in the story. Nothing particular for the music though. But there is "acting".Well eventhough I watched other dramas of him, to me it was the first time I saw Jang Geun Seok acting, and I liked it. That is all for technical critics.A few words about the movie...The movie is not heartstopping/exciting or a geniusly designed crime movie because it is real life related, and no murder can be exciting in real life. Morelikely it causes you a stomach ache, thinking about what a life worth is, what it means to be foreigner/delinquent/minorty/bad guy and the term justice. read more

Crime, investigation and Jang Geun Seok. I was totaly absorbed by this film, though I was angry when I watched the end. In spite of blames, I suspect Pearson, because I saw in him... a greed? Anyway, he wasn't reliable and he described all this incident very detailed... with passion... like professinal.

Unfortunately, the end is evidence that justice often is fiction.

Nice Movie but then again what a nice twist in the end :)
Who's the real killer BTW?
I found out that it's base on a true story but I badly want to know who's the suspect ?

I like this movie--but at the end i cannot understand it's twist .Can someone tell me who's the real killer,pls. Thanks :)

  I think that's the real problem, last time I checked on net, it is not known who the real killer is. (at least they can not prove it) This homicide made a lot noise in Korea and is known for its law court.

  sort of, yes. I think they also wanted to protest through media, the fact the real murderer could not be captured.

  yes, it is a cold case happened in 1997 (if I am not mistaken), in the bathroom of a Burger King restaurant in Itaewon...

  well I did not search that much, but all I know is that the file has been opened again after the movie was released. (according to Times) I do not speak korean and english data on Internet is not too much.
