Kanna Seto lost her childhood friend Haruta in a car accident when she was a freshman in high school. Carrying the emotional pain from that incident throughout her life, Kanna is still wounded as an adult. Kanna then meets Roku Akazawa, who also carries a painful experience from his past. When Roku was an elementary school student, a girl who was with him got into an accident and died. Because of that incident, Roku carries a heavy sense of guilt. Roku then tries to make Kanna feel love again. ~~ Adapted from the manga "Kiyoku Yawaku: Kanna Story" by Ikuemi Ryo. Edit Translation

Story:
This movie split into 3 sections. The first one is Kanna's past and tragedy, the second one is Roku's past and tragedy, and the last one is their present. In my opinion, the divided of the storytelling portion of Kanna and Roku's past is not very fair, where Kanna's past is told long enough and in detail, whereas Roku's past is only told as a flashback several times. In addition, the storyline is also a little slow but flows well. To sum it up, this movie is Sad yet funny. Tragic yet heart warming.

Acting/Cast:
Nagasawa Masami and Okada Masaki both played great and got the chemistry.

Rewatch Value:
I think I will rewatch this movie again sometimes just to find if I miss some details before ^_^

Its nice but something is missing :(

Its a really nice movie actually , but things happened and the leads felt something yet it was never revealed what they felt. they just wanted us to look at their faces and know it.. the fml is a bit too passive(?) actually , I really couldnt find many answers about her feelings in the past or in the present. was she happy with that old reunion with the old friend? was she happy when that old friend who told her that thing about haruta? i dont know if it was meant to be like that , but they didnt make any monologs for that parts nor the actress's face told anything about how she felt... YET. it was a nice movie overall because the way our main leads healed each other , making each other face their struggles, and the message of never jugding anyone with just your first impressions. and the ending scene was definitely my favourite , i wish we could see more of scenes like that , i loved the chemistry and their dialogs. Masaki okada on the other hand , I felt like you could see his feelings in his face even tho he acted all jokey and sarcastic. roku's character really made me contunie watch this movie because overall , i cant say I wasnt bored but thanks to our only expressive and loud-like charachter roku , i kept watching.

but my suggestion is , you should watch it.
its gonna make you think about a lot of things.
yet its not so short and not easy to keep watching it as it gets so dragged towards the middle but I think it still worths it. not my favourite japanese movie but it was something nice to spend time with. okada's looks in this movie also deserves appreaciation , man is so attractive and cute
