A few things about me:

-Nina is not my real name.
:O
It is actually taken from Nina Simone the jazz singer. She was for a long time the biggest inspiration in my life. I am not who I am today if it weren't for her music -- well, in part. Naturally her name has to go somewhere stamped in my life. ;)

-Jade is because I love the stone Jade; it's symbolism, and color. I was once told by my dearest friend Sigrid that if I didn't have "Jade" attached to any of the names I use on the web, then it wasn't me. She is right. You will find me always where the Jade is. ^ ^

You don't get to know a person by reading their own self description. You get to know them by engaging with them in conversations about drama. It's all in the lines. ;)

"How life is strange and changeful, and the crystal is in the steel at the point of fracture, and the toad bears a jewel in its forehead, and the meaning of moments passes like the breeze that scarcely ruffles the leaf of the willow."

ROBERT PENN WARREN, All the King's Men

"Live to the point of tears." -- Albert Camus

About my Top 5
-- Not necessarily I have given 10 to all of my top five, because I still wanted to rate fairly and not be biased of my preference. However, one thing has nothing to do with the other, and so they remain my top five dramas no matter the rating.

  • Time Between Dog and Wolf -- This drama touches a very interesting subject. One that I find fascinating and very easily mistaken in society. "There are no absolutes in this world" I find that several of my friends have a hard time getting in touch with the drama because of the first few episodes. But I can't tell you to skip them because they are so important...hope you decide to watch it even then. <3
  • Good Luck!! -- This drama is the perfect example of why I love Japanese dramas. They like to bring you the common things of life and make them so magical, it's like eating ice cream when you know you shouldn't. Amazingly gratifying. Acceptance is one word that comes to mind when watching Japanese dramas like Good Luck!! Acceptance of who I am.
  • The Devil -- Oh the mind is such a dark and interesting place. And I love to play the psychologist ^^ This drama is like the ugly kitten in the bunch. The one that most won't like because of it's odd nature. The one that makes me think no one else is as lucky as I am to love this drama.
  • What Happened in Bali -- Yes what happened? I died, and went to hell. Then I realized (too late) I had a Heaven all along. Be careful with this drama, if you cannot take tragedies - like what happened to Heath Ledger - then you cannot watch this drama. Just sayin'
  • Golden Empire -- There is a storm coming. IT WILL BLOW YOU AWAY.

My friends and I have a blog about Asian pop culture. Don't forget to pass by and leave us some love :3
