A great romance with a good looking male lead! What's not to like!

Ok the most hilarious part of the plot ???? is that the story is about how D.O. hates being a farmer lol and all D.O. actually wants in real life is to be a farmer ^_^

Anyway on to the review!

D.O. is a perfect mix of handsome and cute, I can't get enough of him! Comedy, emotion, romance, this one has it all. There's also some very emotional moments but on the whole this one is low angst and gets more angsty toward the end. The acting was pretty good throughout and I loved that they showed the female lead initiating contact in several instances without getting clingy.

The story is about two people, Crown Prince of Joseon Lee Yeol (D.O.) and Hong Shim (Nam Ji hyun), a commoner who only has a foster father and no real family. These two have an ill-fated love and who, through various circumstances end up being married to one another. The crown prince is constantly warding off assassination attempts at his life and during one such attempt ends up losing his memory. Ok look I am an "EXO fangirl' and I couldn't stop raving about Rich Man Poor Woman and I have seen Exo next door, busted, Seondal, and Choco Bank (Kai) a million times. But when I review I will always try to be objective. So even if I watch something a million times because D.O. is in it, I will try to review objectively.

So this drama it was so fun and entertaining and like I said Do Kyungsoo looks so handsome! I was in love with his stern "oho" lol that was so funny!!! Honestly, this role is the perfect fit for him. It was really painful to watch him struggle in the peasant life ugh it gave me so much anxiety ^_^ I just wanted someone to make him remember again! And also, the brother and sister storyline omg that was so well done! My heart wept for them truly. And also for DO when his father the king is suffering the wrath of the villain and unable to help his own son when he was lying hurt and miserable in some peasants cottage.

And ok the exceptional OST!!! There's really no words to describe how amazing that OST is you just have to get it and you'll be listening to it a million times.

Anyway, so if you're looking for a romance with low angst and a handsome lead and music that will blow you away, watch this drama!

100 Days Husband is basically Shopping King Louie but set in Joseon Time period.

A rich young man who has memories of the female lead whether he remebers them or not, loses all of his memory and gets lost, the female lead finds him.

Now, that he has lost all of his memory and has no memory of where he lives or who he is, the female lead and him are forced into living together. At first, the man useless and buys items that cause the woman to go into debt because he has no money of his own.

The female lead forces the male lead to get a job, but, the male lead is found to be very bad at that job, until they find out what he is really good at and he regains his memory. For a time the female and male lead live apart since, the male lead was found by his family and regained his memory, but later on, the male lead goes back to get the female lead and they live happily ever after the end.

Also, to make it more confusing the female lead in these two kdramas are played by the same actress Nam Ji-hyun.

But, 100 Days Husband is a better kdrama because it fixes the problems that I had with Shopping King Louie.
Politics added to the drama and made it less boring to watch and kept my interest even when the main couple had to be separated for a time. I found that the characters in 100 Days Husband felt more like real people who were going through real struggles.
For the casting/acting, D.O. and Nam Ji-hyun had great chemistry and really I could not imagine anyone else doing their characters as well as they did in the story.
The music in this Kdrama fit along with the storyline and tone and helped bring a certain atomsphere to the show. Kim Jongdae sings an OST for this drama and that is not the only song that is awesome in this drama.

The rewatch value for this drama is high as all the parts of this kdrama feel needful and add depth to the characters in the story.

Pleasant and watchable, there are strong echoes of Moon Embracing the Sun with a nod to What's Wrong with Secretary Kim?

The story is similar to Moon Embracing the Sun -- they meet as kids, but life gets in the way. This story is more linear, but I wish it felt fresher.

As a man with no memory, Won Deuk is out of place, much like the main character in Secretary Kim. This time, instead of being hilariously vain and out of touch, he's rude and superficial so it's not as fun and a bit of a turnoff.

I am glad that the scheming, shrill ladies of the court was kept to a minimum. That's one trope that I am glad they skipped.

Overall, it's enjoyable, but doesn't quite reach top tier for me since it feels a bit familiar.

(repeat 16x) .

and problema ko lang , hindi ko nalimutan dito na si DO sya ng EXO . Kasi si DO talaga yung nakikita ko kay Won Daek / Yi Yul . Yung pagka-authoritive nya na hindi mo sya pwedeng biruin and all . SATANSOO at it's finest ???? yung bawat O-HO nya , at 'Am I The only one feeling uncomfortable' sobrang prinsipeng prinsipe lang ang datingan ???? dalang dala ni Kyung Soo yung character nya . AT ANG CUTE NYA MAGSELOS ???? jusmiooooo ❤

but wait there's more . oo , given .

Another sageuk crossed off the list!

It's nothing you haven't seen, with all the classic tropes you've seen in every historical drama ever. The only thing that's new is D.O (Do Kyung Soo). Although his character was fairly one dimensional, he does have his moments. Some of my favourite lines:

*fireworks go off in the sky during the festival*
"There goes the taxpayer's money"

"I'm already aware you fell for my thighs, tell me something else"

"You mean to say I'm completely BROKE?"

He's a manchild, but I love him. Even D.O himself said how hopeless his amnesiac character is at the beginning

Interviewer: What kind of housework does Won Deuk do in the drama?
D.O: He can't do such things
Interviewer: Not at all?
D.O: No, not at all. Won Deuk is useless.

Lmao XD

I don't feel like going into details of the plot, characters or romance because it could all be described as average and generic tbh. Not necessarily a bad thing! Predictable doesn't always mean bad. After all, this drama does have a lot of enjoyable moments. However you shouldn't go into it with expectations it will knock your socks off either.

You should also be prepared for long episodes and for the final episodes to drag on forever (why didn't they just get rid of the villain 6 episodes ago!! what is the point in keeping him alive, 'he must live and suffer through his days' forget that bs just kill him)

Overall though, this drama wasn't too bad (if you're not sick of the amnesia trope yet lol)

As a big fan of Do Kyungsoo for many years, i remember first time it was airing, koreans raved about this drama a lot. But funny thing is i couldn't watch it at that time because i thought i couldn't bear to see him doing intimate kissing scenes and stuff lol!!! Then a year after i decided to watch it and that was really worthy. I fell in love with this drama instantly. It was like the first time i ever fully loved female lead character. I was really rooting them because they were so cute together. MC's chemistry was cute and lovely. This drama is full of adorable moments between MC's, also sad moments. I already rewatched 2 times and while writing this i want to watch one more time again kk. Cute, funny, heart warming love story

Brilliant period drama

This was my first intro to a historic/period kdrama and wow what a series.
100 days is the story about a prince who loses his memory and lives as a common person, marrying a local girl to save her from a degree that he himself put in place to make all single people get married - due to being pressured to have a baby by the king. I wont spoil it as it's something that I strongly encourage you to watch,

The prince is played by Do Kyung Soo (D.O. from EXO for kpop fans) - he's brilliant and plays his role as an amnesiac who thinks he's better than everyone, not knowing he used to be the crown prince.
Nam Ji Hyun plays the female lead - she's tough, independent and has a connection to the prince that she doesn't realise.

Start-Up fans will love the fact that the good boy himself, Kim Seon Ho (#TeamJiPyeung fo life) is in this drama - he has a crush on Nam Ji Hyun and their stories intertwine.

The villain is truly evil and really brings this story to life. You guenuinly fear him,

The soundtrack is glorious and so fitting to the period. It's also filmed beautifully. Chen from EXO did an OST for this show and it's beautiful.
100 Days my Prince opened the door for me to give period dramas a go - since finishing this I watched and loved Mr Sunshine and now Mr Queen.

If you haven't watched this, I hope you give this drama a go - it's brilliant!

Everyone should watch 100 days My Prince.
Do Kyungsoo nailed it in “100 days my prince”. Having watched every one of his drama-coms I can say that once again he has proven the superiority of his acting skills. He always picks the deepest roles. Although one does not make a habit of watching psychobabble (serial killers) dramas, I made one exception because of the skills of this actor. This is even better than his performance as a serial killer sociopath. He is true to his craft. Even the way he says “Oh Hoa” makes me crack up in laughter. Every episode was pleasant to watch and the ensemble of actors was successful. He worked very well with his leading female antagonist actor Nam Ji Hyun and second male antagonist actor Kim Sun Ho did a fantastic job of keeping his own neck from swinging on the sword of his despot boss.

For starters, I watched this drama because of Kyungsoo as I am an EXO-L but he exceeded my expectations. I didn't immediately notice that the plot is one of those overused stories. KYUNGSOO IS SO DAMN GOOD IN THIS DRAMA I'M TELLING YOU GUYS. The chemistry of the leads is so natural. The only thing that I did not like about this drama is how it exaggerated the 100 days of Lee Yol in the village. I somehow got sick with their cute fights. The last two episodes are also a disappointment as the Vice Premier's reasons were ludicrous. I felt like they squeezed everything in those 2 episodes just to run the drama in 16 episodes. Overall, I think I got carried away with Kyungsoo's acting that is why I gave this drama a high rating. But I promise it is still worth watching.
PS I only gave 8 stars to its soundtrack as they are repetitive. I only heard Gummy and Chen throughout the drama. It's kind of tiring to hear them over and over again whenever an episode ends.

Please Note: I am VERY easy to please when it comes to dramas. I get googly eyed over everything.

With that being said... I love the Joseon era and will usually give anything a chance that is within that era. Honestly, anything historical = very enthusiastic viewer. The setting was very nice. The story is fun and intriguing to see how the characters/etc progress and what they do in their situation. The actors/cast are absolutely amazing in their roles (I fell for D.O. absolutely in this), both making you laugh and feel a lot. The music -- I'm a huge fan of the type of music like the opening title has (also that goes along with beautiful title images) and the minute it began, I knew it had me by my heart. As for rewatch value... it's one of those that you would re-watch sometimes? Not like all of the time? And some times you might skip through a few scenes.

Ultimately near the middle, I did give up on it for a bit (which I do tend to do sometimes with dramas) but then after picking it back up, I binged the second half in a few days. Really good story and I would have regretted missing out on it.

Review Notice: Reviews written by me contains only my thoughts and views on the drama and in no way reflects or intends to push my opinions on anyone else. I love differences in opinions and support both negative and positive opinions on all dramas/movies/etc.

Cute: not the best, not too bad either

STORY:
The story has a pretty cliche concept which is executed well. The main characters are well developed. The side stories are beautiful, the comedy is amazing. But something about this drama just didn't click with me. I don't know what it is but I never formed an attachment to it. The story was just too much like any textbook kdrama to leave a memorable impression.

ACTING:
The cast did great, all the side characters were amazing. And the main couple always put a smile on my face.

MUSIC:
I'm going to admit it. The music was my favorite part of the drama. When I say music, I mean the instrumentals, not the OST. They were so dramatic and I actually searched up their names and added them to my playlist of study music.

REWATCH:
I'd rewatch this for laughs and giggles. As I said, the comedy in this is amazing. However, I wouldn't rewatch it for the actual story. It's a story that you see so often, that rewatching would just be a bore.

Story:
The story was average with the typical death toll of characters for it’s genre (I mean it is a historical drama from Joseon Era, of course there’s a 100 % chance of people who will die from it. You’ll just have to guess who will survive). It isn’t as heavy as Scarlet Heart which is so depressing with the way most of the characters die and it isn’t like Hwarang that they had choose to killed two of the characters with the most impact and just drop a flashback scene every now and then why that character is important ( e.g. Lee Kwang Soo). It is fluffy and light as Love in the Moonlight until they killed someone. It is a good fix for a drama slump until you found a new drama to watch.

Acting/Cast:
As my title says, the drama is for D.O. Fans and if you are like me who only know D.O as a basic knowledge in kpop, you will love his acting here. It is amusing and funny how he plays the Crown Prince who has amnesia. I know that he is a good actor because I saw him played the role of a psychopath in I remember you and I admire how he played that role as he does look like a serial killer with the way he smiled there, it’s a good thing I saw him act in a different role and that is why he now become my bias in EXO. Nam Ji hyun is a good actress too, as well as the second lead, the older brother and the crowned princess. The supporting actors are on point also and gives that fun feeling that will give you false hope that the drama will not kill anyone except for those charcaters in the beginning.

Music:
I don’t think there is any of those in these drama or I accidentally might paid enough attention on it. (But there should be right? I mean is there a drama that doesn’t have OST in it?).

Rewatch Value:
Good to watch again if there is nothing new you want to watch.

Overall:
It is predictable that you can even guess who is going to die, but still enjoyable to watch.
