  • Parasite

    1. Parasite

    Korean Movie - 2019

    9.5

This movie deserved the accolades and hype it got. The directing, cinematography, social values and context and the performances of the cast (In particular, Song Kang Ho, Cho Yeo Jong, Park So-dam, Lee Jung-eun & Park Myung-hoon).

A great movie to watch and an interesting story. Well what can you expect from the brilliant director, Bong Joon-ho

  • Hwayi: A Monster Boy

    2. Hwayi: A Monster Boy

    Korean Movie - 2013

    9.5

Dark, sad, gritty and brutal. Yeo Jin Goo masterfully portrayed the broken and enraged Hwayi. The story and the antagonist was fucked up that I utterly gasped at every scene. I absolutely love this movie, and if you are a fan of twisted revenge movies this is the movie you have to watch.

  • Your Name Engraved Herein

    3. Your Name Engraved Herein

    Taiwanese Movie - 2020

Emotional Rollercoaster. This shows how LGBTQ+ couples and individuals struggled back then to fight for who they are. Edward Chen was just stellar in this. A great LGBTQ+ film from Taiwan.

  • Peach Girl

    6. Peach Girl

    Japanese Movie - 2017

    9.0

This was my first Japanese movie and I loved every bit of it. Kei Inoo and Mackenyu are just so handsome in this especially Mackenyu.

  • Train to Busan

    7. Train to Busan

    Korean Movie - 2016

    9.0

One of my favorite zombie movies. It made me scared but also emotional mainly because of Gong Yoo, Ma Dong Seok's, & Kim Soo Ahn's performances. The ending broke me so better prepare tissues for this.

  • Shark: The Beginning

    Korean Movie - 2021

  • Seobok

    13. Seobok

    Korean Movie - 2021

    8.5

An enjoyable slow-burn sci-fi film with two great male leads. The dialogues were intriguing and the special effects in the carrie-esque scenes were great. The story is nothing new though and it's actually kind of predictable.

  • Boku mo Aitsu mo Shinrodesu

This was effing hilarious. The cast did great and the plot is also well fleshed out which is rare for a slapstick comedy.

  • Midnight

    17. Midnight

Suspensful and Thrilling. The story is a little predictable and some choices in this movie is frustrating to watch but the performances of Jin Ki Joo & Wi Ha Joon are a standout, which makes this more thrilling to watch.

  • The Pirates

    19. Along With the Gods 2: The Last 49 Days

    22. Samjin Company English Class

  • Okja

    24. Okja

    Korean Movie - 2017

    8.0

I hardly remember some parts of this movie but I did remember how I liked it. Tilda Swinton is amazing here but I think this is Bong Joon Ho's weakest work.

  • The Pirates 2: The Last Royal Treasure

    25. The Pirates 2: The Last Royal Treasure

    Korean Movie - 2022

    7.5

A jump packed brainless funny film with great acting performances by Kang Ha Neul, Han Hyo Joo and Lee Kwang Soo.

  • Udagawachou de Matteteyo

    26. Udagawachou de Matteteyo

    Japanese Movie - 2015

A great exploration of Gender Identity. Some moments were beautifully shot and the two characters were quite complex. Some scenes though are quite questionable.

  • Sweet & Sour

    27. Sweet & Sour

    28. The Girl on a Bulldozer

Lee Je Hoon carried this film. It's an OK heist film but the plot twist was executed great though. The movie just suffers from the boring pacing.
