He relates to Mai that there are lots of incurable diseases but they provide funding to the researches who has a lot of patients inflicted with that disease like cancer or cerebral infarction. He didn't expect this would happen to his daughter. That the researcher that he raised would not pull through in the end. Now he's confused. A knock on the door interrupts him.
