My first impression of "My Annoying Brother" was that it's going to be comedy, but I was in for a surprise that this was a tearjerker.

I like the plot for its simplicity and originality. This film was full of emotion and human touch. The struggle for each brother felt real. The start of the film gave a hint of how this was going to be an emotional one, but midway, I couldn't stop my tears from streaming down, I was literally sobbing like a baby.

I was impressed with how the film was rolled out. I have cried watching drama before but I never cried that much until this film.

I understand why they called this film "My Annoying Brother" but this film never annoyed me at all. Instead it was one of the best that I've seen in years.

This review may contain spoilers
Going into this movie my initial impression was that it would be a comedy with some heartwarming moments, but boy I was not expecting being taken on an emotional roller-coaster ride.

I watched this movie for Jo Jung Suk and it was totally worth it. He is entertaining as always. D.O. is also a good actor and this is not my first time watching him act. (No I am not an EXO fan.) Jo Jung Suk and D.O. have great chemistry which is essential to the success of the movie. Park Shin Hye did a decent job; frankly she didn’t have much to do in the movie anyway. Initially I felt she was miscast, but upon reflection, I think she was suitable for the role.

Without giving away any spoilers, I must say there’s a big twist in the movie that I did not expect at all and I applaud the cast and marketing team 2 times over for NOT giving it away while the movie was being promoted. Unfortunately this twist seems to have been revealed by other reviews of this movie on this site.

I wish I could say more about the movie but there would be major spoilers. I highly recommend this movie.

DO NOT BE FOOLED!! The trailer may trick you into thinking this film is a cute, family-friendly comedy but it most certainly is NOT! It's a beautiful, heartwarming, tragic tale of two brothers whom, after years of loathing one another and not keeping in contact, are brought together by the unfortunate events that cause the younger brother to lose his sight.

There were many aspects of this film that I loved. Although many scenes were leaning towards the more comedic side, it almost makes the movie more sad. The lives of these two men have not been lovely and they learn to lean on one another and find comfort in each other as well as being able to find themselves and do what scares them most, which of course, also happens to be what makes them happiest.

Even if you don't like melancholy films all that much, I suggest you watch it. It's a very moving and heartwarming story and the acting is just fantabulous~ ;)

These movies always get me, Secretly Greatly, Postman to Heaven, and Penny pinchers. I go in thinking it would be a light hearted movie and end up in tears. This really was an amazing movie and tugged on my heartstrings.

The cast was outstanding, Jo Jung Suk and Do Kyung Soo really had amazing chemistry in the film. They physically, and emotional portrayed their characters ( As well as all the others ex. Park Shin Hye ). The story had very quick build up ( understandable because movies only have about 2hours to really get everything in ) and the character development was the same, though not disappointing. The twists and turns in the story will truly pull you in and wont fail to get your eyes watering~

Overall I REALLY liked this film and would recommend it to any k-drama fan.

I cried a river, so if you have dry eyes, go for it. The acting was great, the pace, the story, everything was done very well. The only reason I give it not a 10 is because it was a bit too dramatic. I mean, when you think it cannot get any worse (the parents died, the boy becomes blind) it get's worse. How is that possible? It's a story, I know, but that's really some incredible bad luck. Overall a beautifully made movie that proves how great the korean cinema can be.

It's a real good movie.
Initially I delayed watching this movie for a while but thank god I finally came around to watch it because it was worth every minute.
The story might feel a little cliched to some people but the execution of the plot was flawless. It's really about the brotherhood which was not tented by unnecessary romance.
My personal favorite was the cast and their acting skills. They really had chemistry which helped their comic timings as well as the emotional scenes. The entire cast was well put, not only the main actors but the supporting actors too. Do Kyung-soo acting as the now blind former athlete proved his potential as an actor and Jo Jung-suk needs no introduction.
I highly recommend to watch this movie.
This is one of my personal favorites.

I think it was a really good movie. It´s really worth watching. It´s about two brothers who don´t have a good relationship but it gets better. They have to deal with each other after I think the older one gets out of prison.
It´s really worth watching, some might think that it´s boring in the beginning but you´re gonna have to finish it. It´s so good that i actually rewatched it the next day. I love the ending even tough it could have ended a little differently but I guess it´s to show that they truly love each other "as brothers". It was seriously emotionally GOOD, and their acting was good too!!
Now go and WATCH it!!

This Is such a good funny yet sad story.  The two main actors are superb and. D.O from exo has really emerged as an upcoming new actor.  Jo jung suk is a veteran and the two acting as half brothers did great. Big bro had foul language through out and it rubbed off on doo young. He started off annoying in the beginning and it changed to being funny then sad in the end. Park shin hye was a great addition to the cast though she had somewhat minor role. Another person that brought laughter is the unemployed nemesis turned friend.. Great show i watched twice

beautiful tragedy

this is one hell of a movie because every family has to have an odd one in its family. I love the brotherly relationship D.O. and Jo Jung-suk has in this movie. The brotherly relationship was absolutely the most hilarious relationship I have ever seen although it was a tragedy??????? it was a good movie. I wasn't expecting a tragic brother religion I actually taught that the big brother was there to annoy his younger brother to get back on its feet but no the big bro did make his litter get back on his feet but he ends up dying like goddammit. This made me cry literally like 2 tears drop like I wasted that liquid on a made-up relationship am not one to cry much and if this made me cray that means it was a really fucking good I loved the swearing-in this movie because of everyone cruse. to me, this movie was too damn good.

To be honest I've watched it bc I saw one of the main actors is a member of EXO so that's what pushed me to watch it without reading the description or any reviews..
First of all prepare a packet of tissues because a lot of tears will be with you during watching it.
The story is nice "as a concept you might have seen it in other movies" but the plot was so good and shows the family bondings are there even after separation for several years without saying hi. It shows that disability will never prevent anyone from reaching your dream whether it was physical, social or financial, you'll reach your dream but you have to work on reaching it.
The cast was amazing as I mentioned EXO member "Do Kyung Soo" was the main reason to watch the movie and he didn't make me feel down, I was really surprised about how good actor he is. His brother "Jo Jung Suk" was good as well he managed to make me laugh at some scenes.
The ending is expected but it was suitable to the plot in my opinion it have mixed feelings of being super happy and super sad at the same time.
The music was not that noticeable during the movie but the ending is so good especially the two main characters yes Jo Jung Suk and Do Kyung Soo are the voices you'll hear at the ending and I'm sure you'll love it
At the end the movie is nice and it's definitely recommended, not a movie you'll easily forget.

Brace Yourself

I'm not sure what I expected from this movie but I truly feel I enjoyed it more than expected. You don't have to be an EXO fan to enjoy this masterpiece. The storyline is something I haven't seen before so that was refreshing in itself. Of course the acting was on point. I don't have the relationship with my brother that I'd like, so the story in general hit me personally. I had moments of anger but luckily I laughed more than anything. I can proudly say I didn't shed a tear but have no shame in admitting I came close SEVERAL times. The vulgar language didn't bother me at all but it's definitely something to remind yourself is going to be frequent af. Considering I don't go out of my way to cry , my re-watch value is low but as an EXO fan I couldn't go on without watching and it's oh so worth every bit of it!

Wow, this is such an extraordinary movie, a perfect story, perfect cast, so untypical, yet, so breathtaking. The relationship between the leading cast is so human, it will certainly touch your heart. You will smile for their happy moments, laugh for their funny moments, and cry for the painful moments. But surely, you would root for them all the way. Their bond is so special. The story is so well directed, that you will feel it is very real, heartbreaking at times, and heartwarming at all times. One thing for sure, you will never forget Jo Jung Suk's performance. How could he be so natural, so annoying, yet so endearing?. Perfect 10. He could have made the movie perfect all by himself, still, the entire cast was amazing. Hats off for them to take on such an unusual story, but the risk paid off, they were all part of a very special movie. I may not be able to watch the movie again, one, because I won't be able to see Jo Jung Suk going through the pain without breaking down, two, because I will always remember the movie and the story.
