What a beautiful, funny, dramatic, sexy drama to watch. At the beginning is very confusing to watch as it goes up and down but from episode 6 is addicting! The story makes you cry, laugh, hate... its like the four seasons in a lakorn. The main actors are so good that make us believe in the characters ??????. Thank you Mark and Nitta, watching you is a bless and thanks to you the quality of Thai lakorn has improved by miles. I have also enjoyed the 3 amigos ! They are really hilarious ??? this is a series you definitely want to watch over and over

My Current Fav Lakorn

I haven't watched any Thai Drama/Movie since July and honestly this lakorn makes me wanting to watch more lakorn in the future :>

I cried like 8 times at final episode. Yes, I'm a crybaby but this show really is something else. Very refreshing. The school scene flashback played well too. I love everything about this drama. Worth it.

This is also my first time seeing Mark Prin. Now I'm officially a simp. The female lead got the best smile omg. She's cute cute. In this lakorn, she's someone who really just endure everything. She's hurting inside but managed to put on a smile face. She really is fighting all the obstacles for a guy. I really want to choke Thien so bad in this lakorn.

The last two episodes are my everything. I love how he became a better person after that. I also love how the FL changed into becoming a stronger and wise person.

It's a roller-coaster with some insane chemistry.

3 episodes into this drama I realized that my feelings on it changed completely episode by episode - which probably had something to do with every episode being the length of a movie. So I decided instead of reviewing the drama as a whole I would review it episode by episode as I watch it. So here are my spoiler free, exhausted, binge watch feelings on every episode of My Husband In Law:

Episode 1:
Meh, I don’t know if this is for me...yet.

Episode2:
Ok I’m more interested, I’ll continue.

Episode 3:
Yep! Confirmed, they have amazing chemistry, Muey has my whole heart. I'm really liking this!!!

Episode 4:
Umm...I’m starting to get confused...Muey what ya doin!?

Episode 5:
What the hell is happening!? Also this editing is seriously TERRIBLE...the S&M stuff was hilarious though.

Episode 6:
I’m so confused and don’t really care anymore, really about to drop this. Also Thien is being new levels of mean.

Episode 7:
I TAKE BACK EVERYTHING!!! I love it now! It all makes sense! My confusion is gone!

Episode 8:
I’m happy! I’m in love! I need more! I’m at hour 12 without a break. Also Jealousy!?

Episode 9:
Oh! My heart felt so much warmth and then pain and I cried A LOT. (Really could do without the SML) But these are some of the most beautiful scenes I've ever seen. I've also now been watching this for 15 hours straight - so I need sleep!

Episode 10:
I’ve slept! It seems like over night I forgot what Thien is like - he’s so aggravating! I’m mad at him! But also “ADORABLE”!?!? ps lesbians

Episode 11:
Ugh! COMMUNICATE you idiots! Also these guys are back? Seriously? Ugh. But still the mains make me emosh.

Episode 12:
They're so cute and their chemistry is crazy good, but I’m getting confused and angry cause Meuy’s not actually given a reason that makes sense for her wanting what she wants to happen.

Episode 13:
I get why Thiens doing what he’s doing at least. But why is Muey sad that she's gotten exactly what she wanted!?!? Ugh! I’m starting to hate this drama again, because of Mueys terrible writing - I’d drop it if there weren’t only 2 episodes left.

Episode 14:
Ugh. I can’t be bothered. It really ruins the drama when you lose all understanding of Mueys character and all her motivations. Personally I feel they’ve ruined a character I loved. (Our leads are still extremely cute though)

Episode 15:
I’m gonna admit I did fast forward through a bit of the overly dramatic stuff. I teared up a bit too. Loved the cuter moments. It was an alright ending...

As you can see - my feelings really were up and down with this drama. I started it sobbing for Muey and whispering "You're so strong" and ending it kinda loathing her character. That's not down to the actress at all - its the writing. Muey starts out as this sweet, funny and bubbly character and at some point seemed to turn into a mopey, moaning, depressed jerk. But I loved Thiens character development, it felt really organic and I definitely want to watch more of Marks dramas.

PS. Do want to give a little shout out to this drama for its representation. Its only side couples were LGBT and I really respect that, as a bisexual girl, seeing gay female characters is unheard of so it was a really cool to see.
Also I only realized when I finished the drama how great a character Chet was, he's great at his job, he's the right hand man to the big boss, he's so smart, he's openly gay, he goes after what he wants, he loves wearing dresses, but also wears gorgeous suits and he's a romantic with the biggest heart. Personally I didn't love his ending, but he was a character I've never seen portrayed on screen before and I really loved his scenes.

TL;DR - I didn't like this and had a hard time watching it. The story is clunky, the main leads are unlikeable and the romance is problematic. Things do get better in the last 2-3 episodes, but IMO it's not worth going through all the episodes prior to it. A lot of people seemed to like this, so I'd say to give it a watch and see how you like it.

So...to say that this lakorn wasn't what I expected is kind of an understatement. I enjoyed watching My Forever Sunshine which had Mark in it, plus I heard good things about this (and I haven't had Mew on my screen for awhile), so I thought I would enjoy this as well. It's safe to say that I think MFS is much better than this in all aspects, and I'll just start with what I liked first.

I liked the secondary cast, and particularly enjoyed the LGBT sub-plotlines. I thought it was well done. I also liked the beautiful scenery of Dawei; I didn't know Myanmar had so many beautiful places and temples, and the culture was very interesting to see. Another like is the character development for Yada and how they took care of the villain by doing unto him what he did to others.

Now to get on with my dislikes; I'm going to organize these because I'm pretty much gonna be ranty, and it's unfortunately the things I care most about in a drama which is story, characters and romance.

1. The story was kind of a mess for me. The individual plotlines (there were 3) kind of made sense on their own but when looking at the lakorn as a whole, I thought it didn't flow well and was not cohesive. I especially didn't like the first one, (hacker plot) where it not only went on for way too long, but it was random and really only served to make the female lead look bad. Story lines should be there to engage in the lakorn and develop the main characters. This wasn't the case for the first plot, the second plot (Dawei) was just kinda better and the last plot (pregnancy) was the best. It's unfortunate that the best one was only about the last 3 eps whereas the rest took up the majority; I felt a lot of it could've been cut down. It was also predictable, as there were episodes where I had it in the background while doing something else (while occasionally looking at the screen), because I didn't need to watch it fully to know what was going on. Part of why I couldn't enjoy the story was also due to our leads, which is my next point.

2. a) Moei: At first, I felt sorry for Moei and I related to her deeply in regards to her unrequited love for Tien. The scene in ep 3 with her and Tian in the rain was the peak of her unrequited love and I actually teared up. However when it got to the hacker plot, I was dumbfounded to see Moei not only be super clingy to Tien, but also low-key manipulative. I couldn't understand how even after Tien would reject her or put her down (often in a cruel manner) that she would cry, then stick to Tien as if nothing happened. It was unnerving. She kept clinging to Tien in hopes that he would fall in love with her and it was really cringey for me to watch. Later down the line, I found her character to be inconsistent eg. in one moment she was wishing for Tien to love her, but then when he did, she backed off and thought he deserved better. She had many moments like this where the change was so abrupt, and I think it's more of the director's fault than Moei. There is no build-up to Moei's changes, and I wish we could've seen her thought process so it didn't feel so random. I don't see why production couldn't add some more scenes showing Moei writing in her journal about her changing feelings/thoughts instead of me having to fill in the blanks. I'm sad to say that I found her unlikable for the most part, and I wish she was better written.

b) Tien: Obviously he was unlikable for me from the start, and I immensely disliked how he treated Moei. However, this actually changed during the hacker plot where I actually began to feel sorry for him; he was forced to marry a girl he doesn't like and said girl is clinging to him in an unwarranted manner. Him being mean was doing Moei a service, as he wasn't leading her on and I found myself rooting for him to get away. However, he began to be unlikable again by continuously putting down and taking advantage of Moei, and treating her like an object. I especially found it gross when he fell for Moei and tried to stop her from leaving; instead of confessing to her, he got her drunk and slept with her as a means to keep her. This behavior is pretty consistent up until the last couple of eps, and I was just not with it.

3. Now with both leads being problematic, the romance was of course not something I really supported. It was unbalanced from the start. There was this toxic cycle of Tien treating Moei badly, but then Moei would just accept it in hopes that it would show her love, which only enabled Tien to continue disrespecting her. It was also icky to me that with Moei's pursuit of Tien, it showed that if you like someone, you just gotta stick to them like glue and eventually they will love you back. That's absolutely not true and this is the kind of mindset the 2nd leads usually have, which I generally despise. Overall, I thought they were better off not together.

I have to say, this would've been a lost cause if not for the last 2-3 eps. I liked how Moei made Tien prove his love for her (not a fan of how she did it but whatever) so that the relationship between the two was equal. This was also where I was actually emotionally invested into their pairing and I was touched with what they did for each other, especially with how Tien freaking donated his kidney for Moei. I also liked how the ramifications of Moei's pregnancy added to the plot, and how it made them rely on and take care of each other. It really came full circle to how they were then vs now, and I just wish this happened a lot sooner.

I thought the music was alright and appropriately played. I would not re-watch this. A lot of people seemed to enjoy this, and if you are one of them then that's all that really matters. These are just my opinions. I would say to give this a watch and see how you like it.

Firstly, appreciate both male and female leads of this drama. The genere is romance comedy but the feelings become deep after episode 13 and the leads professionally express every single detail of their characters' emotions and make us feel in them. The male lead is so handsome, cute and hot at the same time while the female lead is adorable and sweet and have a bright and significant smile. Their chemistry, relation and tension are well-balanced and amazing. Also, the supporting roles are amazingly well-done, too. The production team chose Myanmar for second location outside Thailand and the scenes in Maynmar are surprisingly beautiful and romantic which is a new taste to international fans. The sunset scene with hot-air balloons in Bagan and the last kiss scene at Inle make me decide to visit Myanmar. I heard from my Myanmar friends that the fact that if you put the photo of your crush in the mouth of tiger or lion statue in Shwedagon Pagoda, he or she will love you becomes trend in Myanmar fans. Last but not the least, I want to thank Thong Entertainment for creating such a wonderful drama. I will never forget the main characters P'Thien and Moei and I will repeat watching it when I miss them.

Satisfying journey of unrequited love

After re-watching this show, I felt compelled to write a review even though there were already many written.

Definitely one of my top 3 favorite Thai lakorns! The show used the OST effectively, and the music enhanced the scenes and moods. I enjoyed the story and the writing and thought that the usage of poetry was creative. I also liked the scenes where they highlighted Myanmar and its temples, although I read that the show painted a rosier picture than how the reality was in the Dawei SEZ.

What I appreciated the most was the character development of the OTP, and especially the ML. The chemistry between the couple was on point, and the actors did a fantastic job. They played off each other well and nailed every scene, including the crying ones. Superficial me was drawn to their good looks and how adorably they matched each other.

Mew Nittha portrayed Muey beautifully, indeed an iron fist in a velvet glove. Extremely smart (hacker-level), lovely in appearance and character, Muey displayed such grace in her unrequited love for Thien. Even though she tended to put Thien before herself, she was not a doormat. In contrast, Muey showed such strength, determination, and sincerity so pure that I enjoyed watching her grow further into her own. She never gave up on her love for Thien. Even when she decided that they should part, her ultimate objective was to confirm if they can truly love each other after some space and time apart. By the way, I loved how Muey delivered that blow to Thien in such a calm, gentle, but so effective way.

Mark Prin, as Thien, demonstrated how well he could flex his acting muscles, and his expressions were hilarious during the comedic moments! Thien was a jerk initially, which made it so very satisfying to watch him come around and realized how deeply he loved Muey. In Muey, he actually found his "perfect" woman, the one who loved him unconditionally. It was clever how the show weaved in scenes showing his character development and the evolution of his love for Muey.

The show did well in giving the audience scenes where the ML ended up working hard to win the FL back, and they did not do it in a rushed manner. It was most gratifying, and the ending was just awesome!

The supporting cast all deserved a big shout out! There was a great rapport between all the actors, and all of them did amazingly I was won over by Thien's and Mew's side kicks, and Thien's family (Aunt Satchi, Ri and Mon) were simply endearing.

All in all, I highly recommend this lakorn!

I watched it because the female lead is so adorable.

I usually dont watch many dramas and i came across this drama accidentally. I just checked on google and this drama was getting lots of popularity and love.
So i decided to check it out as this type of stories ie male lead hate on the female lead but ends up loving her in the end are my favourite. But the length of each episode puts me off. It was way too long for each episode but i decided to try one episode and see if i will continue and ends up completing the drama in just 3 days.
So coming to what i liked about the drama well i didnt like it but i just couldnt stop it cause the FL (Mew Nittha Jirayungyurn) is just so adorable. It was only because of her that i ve finished this drama.
About dislikes the major thing is the story. I mean you ve let the FL loved the ML to about 9-10 episodes and then finally when the ML starts to like her the FL runs away. Its just so terrible. The way she was portrayed from the start there was just no way she could be able to leave him. It just becomes painful to watch the last 5 episodes. I also dont like how the ML would just grab her by the hand and takes her away and throws her when he is angry. Its just too disrespectful to a woman. Also the hacker story was just unnecessary.

Well as i ve said i just watched it because of the FL. She is just so captivating. Her acting was brillant.

EXTREMELY DISGUSTING
DEFINITELY AN INDIAN DRAMA
the writer watched a lot of romance drama and decided to collect all what he watched in one shallow, annoying and trivial one

From episode two I already decided to delete this drama
The events were too fast till the limit you should figure out by yourself what happened

Lots of drama
Lots of shallowness
Lots is disarranged events
Lots of annoying characters
No depth in the story at all

And at last, Ending with disgusting relation between two girls
UGGGGHHHH

Now I remembered why I hate Thailand dramas a lot

If you really really love someone just tell her, and stop being a jerk

Acting was a bit bland, but they look good on screen though. I thought this was an arrangement between friends. Well ML treated FL as someone less than him. He's an A**hole and she's almost pathetically in love with him.

At first I was annoyed with ML, on how she treated the FL. But around episode 5 or 6, I was annoyed with both of them. I only feel the love at the last maybe 3 episodes. So if you're looking for romance and the "kilig feels", then this is not for you.

The story was complex, from an arranged marriage to spying and hacking. From resisting falling in love, to insisting love. Then a little bit family drama near the end. I don't know what it is, but I managed to finish the whole story despite being annoyed almost all the time. I'm glad though, because the writers still did give our pretty couple a happy ending and a glimpse to Thailand culture.

Such A Romantic Hate To Love Drama

Muey lives in the same house with her crush, Thien, for over seven years, growing up together. As the years go by her feelings for him turns to love. But Thien hardly notice her and when he does, he often teases and bully her. He is completely oblivious to her feelings. Therefore, she resigns herself to loving him from a distance until one day, a scandal happens and Thien's mother rushes him to make Muey his wife. He is not interested, but had no choice. Whilst he dislikes her at the beginning. Muey who is beautiful, smart and intelligent takes the opportunity in the marriage to show him what her love is all about. The entire love journey between the two of them is delightful to watch.

This is such a good romance love story from hate to love in an arranged marriage. Mark Prin is one of my favorite Thai actor and his chemistry with Mew Nittha is super comfortable and sizzles in some places. If you are a die-hard romantic, this is one drama you must not miss. I am watching this drama for the second time and seem to appreciate it more than the first time I watched it. Love it!

Same story as praomook

Big, big eyeroll.
One: Basically the same story as praomook. Guy is forced to marry a woman he does not love. Woman insists constantly to the point of manhandling him. Both FLds do not take NO for an answer and force themselves on the ML. Here the ML resists for 95% of the lakorn. In praomook he resists for 99% of the lakorn. How is it supposed to be a love story, if the man refuses the woman for the biggest part of the story and then, I should believe, that he finally fell in love and did not just accept her out of resignation, because he has no way out? Nope.
Second: the on screen chemistry is missing. Well, how should there be any chemistry, if the ML refuses her, runs away from her, hides from her and tells her NO until the last two episodes?
Third: This one, as well as praomook has this psycho FL. In any other lakorn, those FLds would be the SFLds that do anything to get the man and that everyone of us dislike.
Not my cup of tea.

Best Lakorn of 2020

Hands down the best lakorn of 2020 because it's definitely not your typical lakorn . Both Mew & Mark's performance was top notch. Best Na'ek & Pra'ek performance. Chemistry amazing! I really don't know if they can top this performance in future lakorns (now that Mew is married). There were so many good scenes in the lakorn but my favorite scene is when they're walking in the rain. Mew did an amazing job making lakorn viewers heart break with Muey. Btw - I read somewhere that they're going to be making a Chinese version of My Husband in Law. I can't wait.
