Such a wonderful drama, at the beginning is really funny, and the character development is really good, you see their whole journey from prey and predator to friends, as the drama approaches it's end, it gets more and more painful, and I found myself crying through the whole last 2 or 3 episodes.
The soundtrack is just so addictive, there are such beautiful songs, and it fits so well, even parts that may be a bit boring, because of the background music it becomes magical.
In my experience with Kdramas, the action and special effects are not really that good, in this drama there were pretty much amazing, only one or two failures.
The actors are perfect for this one, the "villains" really have that bad guy/girl look, and the main role actors fit so wonderfully together.

I found this a highly entertaining, sometimes frustrating, drama.

It got recommended quite a lot and I just dropped another drama, so I started watching this one. And I'm glad I did:
-Although I do not like fantasy that much it worked perfectly for me in this drama.
-There was quite some character-development, much to my liking.
-The romance developed on a good pace and was heartwarming at times.
-The characters were believable, there personalities matched with their back-stories.
-It was funny but not the kind of humor that gets annoying.
-I cried. And that doesn't happen with dramas usually.
-The cast fitted perfectly.
-It has the best dog ever.

There were some frustrating/irritating points in it as well, though they were minor:
-The end was a bit disappointing.
-The antagonists were annoying(though you don't need to like them, they worked on my nerves)

The music fitted beautifully. It had that lighthearted fantasy feeling that was like fairy dust.

Though I don't re-watch dramas, for one who does, this one would give you the same fresh feeling every time.

I started to fell in love with Lee Seung Gi and Shin Min Ah here. Their acting were so great, the emotion, the comedy everything blends together and created this awesome hilarious drama. This drama doesn't have a lot of magic/fantasy features besides the Gumiho herself (if I remember correctly), so this would be CGI friendly for those who don't like CGI dramas. The two main characters' chemistry were also really great, I felt like nothing was forced and it just slowly developed deeper and deeper between them (if that makes sense). I highly recommend this for everyone especially for those who just star to watch K-drama :D

This is a fantasy rom-com, which basically mixes two of my favorite genres together so I was pretty much sold on the drama from the get go. It just sounded like such a fairytale, it had a mythological creature and it was written by the Hong sisters. And I tend to love their shows.

The story of Miho (Gumiho) and her earnest quest to become human really got to me, as well as the tone and the humor of the story. I was hooked from episode one. The story and the characters were quirky and intriguing and I just couldn’t get enough and that feeling sort of stayed there or just grew even more as I continued to watch the drama.

It was pretty solid in the acting and the writing department, the leads were really likeable and it was just very cute and fun to watch. I had such a good time with it, it felt breezy, with some fun fantasy elements thrown in there, and some fluff; which is honestly what I require from a rom-com such as this. I don’t think it dragged too much. Some might say it’s far fetched, I think it fitted with the fantasy elements of the story.

I even liked the comic-relief characters, which doesn’t always happen. They do tend to annoy me and just be in the way of the main story or the main couple and sometimes I just get bored with it, but I think the Hong sisters usually do a good job writing them as quite the likeable characters with their own story that you can get invested it, while also making them fit well into the main story.

The problem on the other hand are often the second leads, which they use more as props to add tension to the plot, or as obstacles to the main couple. They aren’t that well developed and one of the few negatives I will give this drama.

I really liked the humor here, which doesn’t surprise me since I also really liked You’re Beautiful and My Girl. The humor that the Hong sisters use just clicks with me, I guess. There were some good laugh out loud moments for me (and as someone who rarely laughs out loud that’s something), and even when the drama goes a bit more dramatic toward the end, there are always some cute, heartfelt or chuckle worthy scenes in every episode

The main couple was super cute, the chemistry there was off the charts, and I quite liked the journey they had about learning to be become more human together, since Dae Woong’s grandpa refers to Dae Woong as non-human at one point because he is lazy and always up-to-no-good and he really matures throughout the series and Miho learns how to be human and what that is like, as she is a mythological creature. She is one of my favorite kdrama heroines.

I am not too familiar with the Gumiho myth, but I also feel like they handled the fantasy elements or how they corporates it into the story without it being over the top, too bizarre or creepy (I’m looking at you, Twilight), even if she is what 500 years older than him.

My Girlfriend is a Gumiho sort of just manages to do all of that for me, so I am very happy with it. It really tucked at my heartstrings, it was cute and fun and had some heart and humor, and overall I just enjoyed my time watching it. I even watched some of it even when it wasn’t completely subbed, on Viki, just because I couldn’t get enough of it and I just wanted to watch it sooner rather than later. I even watched it again a few years ago and I still bawled my eyes out when it ended, because I just loved it and the characters so much.

The Hong sisters haven’t always delivered such amazing show for me after the holy trinity that is My Girl, You’re Beautiful and then My Girlfriend is a Gumiho, but when they are good they are goooood.

A drama with a fabulous beginning, draggy middle, and an ending filled with plot holes. I absolutely adored the first 2-3 episodes, which were bright, funny, and unique from other dramas I've seen. However, everything became repetitive, and the story didn't have good pacing. I had to drudge through almost the entirety of the show until the last 3 episodes. Lee Seung Gi and Shin Mina had a really comedic but touching chemistry. This show was a rom-com, but the middle-to-ending parts were a bit too melo for my tastes. The OST was really funky at times, but there were a few songs that stood out greatly. I wouldn't be able to re-watch this without getting skipping huge sections.

A comedic retelling of the Gumiho tale

Not since the radically different k-drama Forbidden Love (2014) have I watched a retelling of the legend of the nine-tailed fox from east-asian folklore. This one does well as a comedy as 500-year old Miho is totally unfamiliar with modern life, and almost like an obliging canine, she wags her tails in glee when she's happy. My main gripe with this series is the inordinate amount of time she spends trying to pass the fox-bead around. I mean, is it a source of power or a ticking time-bomb? one is left puzzled all the way till the end.

This was a super cute drama; completely binge-worthy. I laughed so much with it. There were some over-the-top scenes but it wasn't too cheesy. The chemistry between the leads was amazing. They complemented each other well. Not often do I end up falling head over heels with the female lead but Shin Min Ah was AMAZING in this role, which led me to feel a bit irritated at the beginning episodes. However, it was perfectly written as I look back on it because it showed the viewers how the character developed and matured throughout the drama. Overall, if you are looking for a lighter fantasy as your next fixed. I highly recommend this one.

The only reason why my rating for the re-watch value is low is because I rarely re-watch a drama.

PLOT:
At first I thought the plot was going to be about a powerful, manipulative female lead who is as sly as a fox. But I was so wrong! The female lead is a cute, innocent and naive girl, who is actually a fox. Lol. The plot was interesting up to episode 13 ish, but from there it became cliche and boring. The last 3 episodes are about who should die; they both love each other so much as would die for each other, each scene became quiet repetitive. The only thing that made me finish the drama was No Min Woo! He is so cute! I wished he could've had more screen time as he had so much potential.

Acting:
Both Lee seung Gi and Shin Min Ah are legendary actors, they both portrayed their characters well. Too bad the plot didn't develop their characters throughout the drama. Thanks to this drama I was able to discover Noh Min Woo, I'll definitely watch his other dramas, he is such an eye candy, heheheh.

Music:
I only heard 2 OST through out the drama, both sounds really good. I really like 'Trap' sang by the one and only Noh Min Woo. Every time there is a scene with Noh Min Woo and Shin Min Ah that song will play, and I'll just ball my eyes out because of second lead syndrome.

Rewatch value:
I wouldn't re-watch the whole drama as it does get quiet draggy in some episodes. But I'll definately rewatch the scenes with Noh Min Woo to help me get over my second lead syndrome. Lol

●Story- as the name of the title my girlfriend is a gumiho, the whole drama Is how a gumiho transforms into cha daewoong girlfriend. As he has someone he has a crush on and his dreams of becoming a action star, how the gumiho inter-winds in his life is the basic crux. The story is sweet and funny. I wished if the story of Gildan was also given a space it would have made a more lasting impact.
●Acting- am a fan of lee seung gi and was quite surprised to see his wow acting at the age of 24. his actions were also good.
Shin min ah was good but she was toooooo naive character that I wanted to sometimes bump my head on wall.
Although this drama has cliches the chemistry between the leads was amazing.
Other character also played the parts very well. I liked the grandfather.
●Music-music was nice and enjoyable. I wished if the song cha daewoong was singing was made into a jingle it would been have awesome ‘my frined miho a cute gumiho’
●Rewatch- well its watchable once for me as the drama went too old I just watched it for LSG. Other than that its no for me.

The drama tells a story about a Gumiho, who wants to be a human.

The plot starts well, it’s interesting and from the very start the Gumiho (Mi-Ho) gets my symphathy. She is freed by Cha Daewoong, so she decides to help him. A goblin appeares in Mi-Ho’s life and wants to help her to become human.

The drama is good but i wished more.

THE LET DOWNS

- The usual rich guy, poor girl.

- Mi-Ho keeps asking Cha Daewoong to buy her
meat, even though he doesn’t have much money.

-She is too bubbly towards him. He keeps being mean to her, but she she still tries to approach him. I wished for a little more elegance from her. Kind and bubbly but some of the things she says..i feel like doesn’t fit for a Gumiho. I feel like she was lacking some ”supernatural spice”

- I was hoping Mi-Ho to be a cool Gumiho. Was hoping kind of badass scenes like ”Mi-Ho saving Dae Woong”

- she kept following him everywhere. U were trapped for 500 years and all u wanna do is follow a guy who is mean to you, just cuz he buys u food? You don’t wanna go see what has changed in the last 500years?

-She was so naive and little..stupid for a fox. Foxes are usually pretty smart and sure it takes time to get used to a new world, but i feel like she should have known not to go through trash or eat soap or drink someone’s left over coffee..

-Dongjoo.. i wished him better. He was very interesting character. I was hoping to see more of him and his personal story too. I felt bad because he was just repeating his words over and over again. There was no progression. I kinda think they could have went a little bit further with the love triangle and given Mi-Ho and Dong-Joo at least some actually romantic scenes.

-Tell me again, what was the point of telling us that Cha Daewoong’s parents are dead..? His fear of the Zoo was solved in a blink of an eye.

-The ending.. So rushed. The ending twist was wrapped up in under 12minutes..

THE GOODS:

-The supporting couple. Minsuk and director Ban..they were the real couple here!

-Mi-Ho and Cha Daewoong always solved problems fast.

-Mi-Ho’s background story was very touching.
I felt bad for her and wished her to find true happiness.

-Dongjoo’s kind actions towards Mi-Ho. He didn’t buy any meat before Mi-Ho started visiting often.

- The way how their love progressed. I like the fact that Cha Daewoong started liking her little by little. The cute little jealousy that followed when he started liking her.

-I did like that fact that Mi-Ho was always kind and never wanted to be a bad guy. She was pure and funny. She tried hard to become human. She almost never lost her hope on things and always hoped for the best.

It was really nice ”lovey dovey romantic comedy drama” my biggest problems just happened to be Mi-Ho’s personality. It has a lot of sweet moments and funny moments. The acting was great, especially Noh MinWoo..

Nice Love Story!

Overall very good story. I've fall on the main characters especially the leading man. So cute and so nice. I'm gonna miss this drama. ❤️.

Characters. They are all good and perfect to their characters. My Favorite character is Dae Wong even though he lied always. I like his voice and his love for Miho. Very amazing character for me is Miho. I like her also because of her cuteness and being kind and innocent. Both actors have a good chemistry. I loved it. ❤️

Story. Very interesting story or plot like you cannot stop to watch it because you're excited to the next episodes. Actually I already watch it a few times because of the story. I’m still being carried away by the scenes. I loved it.

Music. I love the songs. I like their song like I’m really looking for it to listen over and over again especially with the sad song "Fox Rain".

Cannot Forget this Title

Shin Min Ah s acting just grows on you. She is like a goddess. Shes shy and looks timid in real person but in here shes loose and funny. Lee Seung Gi s acting is exceptional here. I cried whenever he cries especially at the last episodes. He is good in transitioning between being innocent to being serious. The story teaches us about what true love really is and what it is supposed to be. Check out this line "I need you because I love you" and not the other way around." Love is a fantasy indeed. Watch the series and Im sure you will experience it your self. I also like the hilarious reactions of the grandpa and the side love story between director Ban and Aunt Min Suk. They added a lot to the lightness of it all. The soundtrack is very good as well.
