The Emperor overhears Ti Lan's maids chatting about her childhood friend, General Tang, so he arranges for her to send him off to his new post in the morning. Ti Lan purposefully gets herself sick, making the Emperor suspicious and furious. Hai Shi convinces Zhuo Ying to do the body exam for her, but the officials become suspicious as to why Hai Shi didn't go herself.
