THE STORY - The blending of law into a prestigious school full of privileged kids with clear-cut agendas. As a matter of fact I think the strongest parts of the show were those little probings disguised as lessons between Mr. Temporary and the Verida 4 in the classroom. They were entertaining and we got more of a feel of the main kids and their personalities. Wish I could say the same about the others. I do wish that other students or the student body as a whole got more focus outside the Verida 4.
THE CHARACTERS - LJY as Beom Jin was undoubtedly the standout. What a performance. He looked familiar as I watched but I was pleasantly surprised to find out that he was an actor. My only complaint with his character is that very abrupt ending. I’m not saying it’s not less of what he deserved but I so badly wanted to see him in handcuffs after being recognized for what he did. His murder felt like a cop-out though you could see it as him getting his commuppance.
Tae Ra’s demise is not what I expected at all but tbh I would’ve liked it better if she and her mother were exposed for fabricating her academic rewards and records. She was just as rotten as the other 3 but the way she went out was…wow.
Kyu Jin really was down bad for Su Ah, to the point where he started making irrational decisions that had him looking crazy. He had the strongest arc out of the bunch and was able to somewhat redeem himself(could’ve done way more) but he got off way too easy for that SA incident and the stalking. I was getting vibes that he was only upset about what happened between Soo Ah and BJ’s dad but he did apologize for the role he played with her so idk. I get that the victim is dead but not even a suspension or getting kicked out of that club? Yeri started with her 3 buddies and ended up alone which is rather fitting for her character. She also got exposed for her online crimes and lost out on debuting so she got her payback. I did think it was weird that she didn’t appear to be that sad when her supposed best friend Tae Ra died so suddenly but perhaps she was so caught up in her own ambitions it didn’t hit her until long after the fact.
Now unto the adult mains: Temporary was such a fun character. I enjoyed his screentime so much and relished in his ability to take whatever the kids threw at him. He was no fool and he didn’t underestimate them for one second. I think he realized the first day of his job that he would have to get into a basket of vipers to get to the truth. Ngl I was kinda scared for him cause man was being way to bold dancing around these powerful people. However he proved multiple times he could hold his own and that nothing was going to stand in the way of his goal. The teacher lady was so annoying and didn’t think before she did things which was super frustrating. I get her being mad about Moo Hyuk lying about his identity but she didn’t even really try to get to the bottom of it and find out why. I couldn’t wait or them to just join forces and move on with the story cause the constant misunderstandings and jumping to conclusions was starting to piss me off.
P.S The guy who played Lee Tae Seok did the part way too well. He has that…face lol.
Overall this was a really great show. I do think there should’ve been one more episode to even things out and get a follow up with the characters but the last scenes were satisfactory enough for me to be content with. The ending was incredibly satisfying and I will def watch this again just for the thrill of it all. I think the overall theme was just as Gi Gang Jae said: Finding out the truth is more important than winning the case. Of course irl things aren’t that straightforward, as corruption eventually seeps into those places where justice is supposed to prevail. I may not become a lawyer but that saying however did give me a new perspective for when I view cases as an outsider, low profile or high profile

meh.
one thing i loved was the character development of gi hoon. it was an okay drama, nothing unexpected and nothing too suspenseful. everything was kinda j expected and it wouldve been better if it was shorter :)) its kinda something you would watch to take a break from a really good, suspenseful psychological thriller drama. the ending was pretty solid but overall story was really lacking with barely any suspenseful thrilling moments like said before.should you watch this?
YES, if youre looking for some light thriller drama.

Highly Recommend
This was spectacular drama! It had a bit of everything. It was a law drama, crime drama, school drama, workplace drama and even covered topics like bullying, prostitution, classism, and shed a bit of light on the negative affects of grooming. It was written really well and the cast did a fantastic job portraying their characters and their stories. I will admit though, the ending was a little predictable but I guess that’s bound to be the case for us that have watched dozens of kdramas. It also really gave me slight Penthouse/SKY Castle/Beautiful World vibes. So if you liked any of those, I think you’ll enjoy this one.Was this review helpful to you?

Interesting watch
Honestly this drama was not bad at all. It was definitely slow paced and there were some things that should have been answered. Like who the heck killed Yu Beom Jin. The ending was so unsatisfying like after all the crimes he committed and he just dies after an injection… His motive for killing Su Ah in my opinion did not make sense. I believe he could’ve handled this matter in different ways other than murder. But honestly I hated his character so much. He acted it too well. It was a good watch but could’ve been shorter. Was this review helpful to you?
But although the characters were annoying, the acting is really good.
It took me over a month to watch the last 3 episodes , because it was just not interesting anymore and everything I wanted to know, I already knew by then, more or less. And the very last episode was the most disappointing one of them all. Very anticlimax.

Predictable
Right off the bat, when I saw one of the characters' name, I had high suspicions that he's the ultimate killer. In Hangul, a criminal is translated as 범인 (beom-in) which sounds so alike with Beom Jin. It was just my instinct at first but I just couldn't brush the thought off. So I just observed the character until he went really strange and suspicious. With that, the thrill and guessing games just flew off the windows. All that is left to me was some cliché power greedy, chaebol dominating the world story. Also the school violence and bullying (which nowadays wasn't a match for me). There were some satisfying moments when the leads won over something. Also, the OST (Idk the title) was great. It lived up to the vibe of the drama. I think a lot of characters were rather annoying or frustrating than I imagined so it's also a negative side to me. I'm giving points to the OST and some moments I liked but overall, this drama didn't leave me good impressions. Was this review helpful to you?
Acting:
- High school students were good.
- Yoon Gyun San was good as a lawyer and as a teacher.
- Keum Sae Rok was a bit useless in this drama (due to no fault of her own). Her character didn't matter to the plot which is a shame as I loved her in The Fiery Priest.

The characters were written so good. The writers did the perfect job to develop the mistery. Even though this drama has no-real- romance whatsoever I didn't even thought about that aspect. The plot was too interesting to make you wanna think about the things that were ''lacking''.
With that being said you all would be wondering why I rated the story a 9.5. Well the end was questionable. It ended too quickly and abruptly. It left me kinda flat and I felt that the criminal deserved a much more tragic ending.
Was it a good ending? No.
Did it matter in the end? Also no.
The drama overall was too good to not rate it an absolute 10 at the and. I could say I closed an eye over the end *ha ha* (also there is this one line that really stuck to me : ''You are trying to bailout the ocean with a bucket''

I am bored with this drama
I would like to start this review by saying that the acting is really amazing. We can all see and tell the actors aren't the problem in the kdrama. Almost every kdrama have 16 eps, 1 hour each. But in some cases, it is cempletely unnecesary. And this drama is one of them. For me, ever since episode 6, the plot is seriously lacking. It is as if the writers, producers and director decided that this drama MUST be 16 episodes, nothing less. But that is my biggest problem with most kdramas, Class of Lies included. Kdramas are unnecesarily long. And when I mean long, I mean really long. Before you attack me, I have something to say. Yes, I haven't finished drama but why shoul I spend 16 ours watching something I am not interested in, just to write this review? Maybe this is hidden masterpiece and I just can't see the potential but please, don't attack me for my opinion. I am very open to change my mind and rewatch this kdrama, if anybody changes my mind about the lacking plot. Was this review helpful to you?
