Another Go To Drama

I am new to Asian Drama and this one has been added to my go to list. I love the build up between the main actors. The comedic parts keeps me laughing. I see similarities in the diff dramas but if the writing, production and actors are good I am going to watch it. I am addicted to watching this drama and I hate that I have to wait several days before I can see the English episodes. But I appreciate that I am able to watch and enjoy the drama with English subtitles. THIS IS A GOOD DRAMA. LOVING IT😁😍. LOOKING FORWARD TO EP6 AND THE OTHERS. SO GOOD. THE COOKING PART IS WONDERFUL AND GREAT ATTENTION GETTER.

Too silly

ML is way too silly in the way he chases the girl. Sorry I can take it for 1 hr, 2 hr and even 3 hrs. But 9 episodes in, I am sick and tired of his silliness. This is like watching a Stephen Chow movie non-stop for hours and hours. After a way, you just get tired of it.

Love the FL. She's like the moon and stars to me.

I was looking through list of other TV shows the FL has done. And sadly, most of them are all silly. I did watch Romance of Tiger and Rose and enjoyed it. Although the end was kind of boring. But I remember it was quite fun and funny.

Sweet and adorable .... not to mention alot of yummy food! :D

This series is absolutely incredibly cute and awesome! Other than the food always making me extremely hungry, the story line is not bad - quite alright actually. And of course.. Zhao Lu Si did a wonderful performance (as usual) with her adorable cheeky and funny ways. Both the Male and Female Lead are quite good together, their chemistry is very nice and sweet to watch, the hesitance and unsureness of the Male Lead about his feelings for the Female lead is quite interesting to watch and very adorable seeing how he tries to protect her in his unsure way of expressing his feelings.

It is actually a nice short series, very light with humour and alot of yummy food to watch.... you probably can catch a few methods of how to cook some of the dishes. Makes me hungry watching sometimes :D

The songs are also nicely paired with the show. I really love some of the songs. Rewatch value, for me, definitely worth watching a couple more times.

excellent chemistry annoying slow plot line.

the chemistry between the leads was excellent. The plot was pretty annoying. Too many cliched misunderstandings, pouting, and elders acting like controlling psychos. I ended up fast forwarding through swathes of it. but I really loved the male lead espec he could pretty much act without even saying a word his face was so expressive. I found the pacing very irritating. they get together then it just goes nowhere. and the female lead acts like a toddler a lot. at this point I’m just trying to make the 500 word minimum in order to submit this.

I loved it

I discovered the series by chance and I was so excited that I finished watching it in a few days. I love series with older versus younger ones. And the couple was so cute to melt away. I think, I will rewatch it in a few month.
The music at the beginning and ending of an episode was very beautiful.
The actors fit together very well. I found the "uncle" really funny. I also had to laugh in other scenes.

I will look for other series with these two actors in the future and also watch them.
Is there anyone here in the forum who knows other series with older and younger lead actors?

This was easily one of the best C dramas I have seen. I ended up scoring at 7.5 out of 10 on the strength of the amazing OTP. Their chemistry was authentic and truly enjoyable to watch. It felt like a natural relationship between two people who happened to have a roughly 15 year age difference between them. That gap never felt creepy, and it's probably because a lot of the time, they go into an unusual amount of the time for the often patriarchal C drama, the relationship was depicted as one of genuine peers. The young female leads willingness to mock her boyfriend in good humour by teasing him with ads for health products aimed at senior citizens was an example of the way the drama didn't hide from the age gap but did not make it central.

The OTP was so strong it carried me through the one significant problem I had with the drama, which is simply that it was four episodes too long. Had this been 20 instead of 24, I probably would have scored at 8.5 or 9 because especially the first 10 episodes were just outstanding. It revived my faith in the entertainment potential of C dramas and confirmed that Romcom tropes can still work with the right combination of cast writing performance and chemistry. This kitchen based romcom had all the right ingredients and blended them to perfection. It was just a touch overdone.

A really nice drama to watch in your free time.

If you like some good comedy and romance this drama is for you.

There were scenes that could make you go full on laughing and others that were really cute. Both leads were hilarious but supper sweet at times. Their age gap was refreshing to see. Something that isn't too often shown in dramas. FL was mature enough when needed and ML was able to become more free and childish (not to say they were childish) under her influence. Nice chemistry between those two. Watching their sweet moments made me feel like i am watching something private that's not meant for my eyes. It was really cute and sweet. I only wish there were more moments like that but when they came it made it up for the ones i wish it had.

But i feel like i should give out a warning - Food scenes will make you go hungry. Watch at your own risk...

All that aside i absolutely recommend you watching this drama. Sweet, funny and entertaining what more could you ask for?!

I also want to find a boyfriend who is a CEO like Lu Jin :')

I like the simple and warm storyline even though the age gap between the female lead and male lead is quite big, and i like how the writer makes Lu Jin (Lin Shen) a warm, clumsy CEO who really appreciates Gu Shengnan's hard work and sincerely loved Gu Shengnan's cooking. Thank you for not making Lu Jin the typical CEO character in dramas who is cold, possessive, or domineering.

The writer also created Gu Shengnan's (Zhao Lusi) character quite well. Thankfully, they didn't make Gu Shengnan a careless or clumsy girl, instead they made Shengnan a poor girl who had a bright personality, energetic, dared to stand up for herself, and had recognized cooking skills. Shengnan is quite a strong character even though she's much younger than Lu Jin. Of course, there are several scenes where the writer shows Gu Shengnan's childish nature to make it look more realistic and show how different the attitudes and thoughts of someone who is still in their early 20s and someone who has entered their late 30s are.

In terms of production, I'm quite satisfied. It's just that sometimes I think the second couple's love story doesn't need to be given a long broadcast slot, sometimes I just skip it haha.

When it comes to acting, I'm satisfied with Zhao Lusi and Lin Shen's acting. They were able to portray their respective characters and successfully convey to the audience that dating with a big age gap will feel a lot of difference because the mindset between those who are just adults and those who are already matures is definitely quite influential in everyday life.

Older Men are in

So I'll be honest. I was a little uncomfortable with the age gap when I first read the synopsis, but I watched it anyways for Zhao Lu Si. She is so cute and has had great chemistry with her other partners in other dramas. In the end, I decided to give this drama a go and hope for the best. The minute the male lead comes in, my heart DROPS. He is so handsome, and very very much my kind of older guy. The age gap isn't overwhelming and the chemistry between the leads was ... radiating. Wow... The chemistry was off the charts. I loved the male lead. He was so loyal to the FL during the whole entire drama. I guess that's the best part about being older and more secure in your career. He doesn't feel swayed by the opinions of his mother or secretary. Lu Si's character was the epitome of young, but she always plays her characters well. I love her acting, especially when she cries... my heart just criiiieeees. I really recommend this drama for anyone bored and single.

absolutely adorable!!

I Loved this!! It was absolutely adorable. It was like falling into one of my favorite books! So stinking cute at every turn. These two main leads had chemistry in droves! I couldn't get enough. This is an age gap romance one of my all time fav tropes. So the angst and drama that comes with a younger girl and an older man, it was all there, the mother drama was vicious and of course there's got to be some unrequited love on both sides just to keep us on our toes! I highly recommend! I genuinely loved it!

Swoon Worthy Chemistry

If you want a rollercoaster , swoon-worthy couple then you really get that with this series.

Honestly, Lu Jin is one of those characters that makes you melt when he looks at Nan Nan. Lin Shen is one of those actors that can say so much in an expression, he really made the character believable and portray the type of love where the other person just makes you feel complete

Yes there is an age gap with these characters, and they really do use it for the story but in a way that makes it less "lecherous old man and student" and more so that she brings him the spark of being carefree and happy. She helps him shed his heartless, cold shell that kept him protected after his father deserted him and his mother, and learn to to the risk to embrace family and love again.

I found the second couple Richard and Celine to be a bit much. Not that I didn't like them at first, but I really just wanted to rush back to the scenes with Fussy Lu and Nan Nan again since I just loved their chemistry.

Now I do have to say I did get a bit annoyed with the male lead, Lu Jin, a few times since there was some points where I felt he needed to stick up for Gu Shengnan more. But I did like that Nan Nan did seem to start standing up for herself and Lu Jin was there for her when it mattered in many situations.

Another weird and generic drama

The romance between the two leads is really hard to watch there is no chemistry whatsoever esp for the FL. The ml is and looks like he could be her father. Seeing the rating is really baffling to me cauz there is absolutely nothing that is redeeming about this story it's a mess like most cdramas I just had to skip so much, the leads were just awkward if you are normal you don't want to see an old man romancing a young girl old enough to be his daughter as I connect it to real life I don't find it anything swoon worthy, for the acting I guess they tried hard they aren't bad actors tho FL can be really annoying sometimes. Anyway they couldnt save the mess that is this drama might also contribute the fact that I don't like age gap dramas with ml being an old middle age guy
