Entertaining & not as cliche as expected

Just to get it out of the way, yes the writing is pretty bad, but most of the time it's not annoying.
Yes, it's weird that the amnesia thing happens twice, but I was not annoyed by that very much at all. The problem is not the second amnesia itself, but rather how ML acts for a while after it happened. A rational person would not turn so hostile to a woman that claims to be his girlfriend. Do verify before burning all the bridges, right? In the second half of the drama there is a lot of on and off dating/ will they, won't they stuff, however it was quite entertaining most of the time, except shortly after the aforementioned second amnesia and episode 20 was just a horrible horrible episode, with a recycled plot used in an intelligence insulting way. Yeah sure there is also quite a bit of noble reason bullshit as well, but overall I think it's acceptable.
The love triangles are weak and almost entertaining & end in a timely manner. The writer did a great job in this regard, triangle haters can safely watch this.

I'm not a fan of "Eden" Zhao, but this is by far his best performance that i've seen. (okay, he was good in Le Coup de Foudre as well) As for FL I've seen her in The Untamed and she was far better here, especially in the second half of the drama, she had some very amusing facial expressions and had great chemistry with Zhao.

The story may be bad, but the comedy is really on point throughout the drama. The side couples are not that special or anything, but there is nothing much to hate about them really. The fluff is good, at least whenever we are in the "on" phase.

People in the comment section complained about the cause of the amnesia being really stupid. I think it was not bad at all, it's nicely explained & it's not COMPLETELY unreasonable by cdrama logic standards. It's far better than let's say being allergic to one's own tears.

The OST is bad, but most of the time it's just unnoticeable. There is some weird Christmas music there, but not too much, it's not the most offensive OST that I've heard.

Yes the early episodes are very Secretary Kim-like, but is that really a bad thing? I think not. The second half of the drama is substantially different.

TLDR: This is a VERY entertaining romCOM, with some minor & not so minor frustrations.

Love, is falling for the same person over & over again

Episode 7, ML was hurt by FL's lies. FL is crying her heart out. While I'm still clueless.. The first quarter of the show is a bit draggy and to be honest, it's hard to relate to. Some of the decisions/reactions they've made are unrealistic to say the least. I almost dropped the show plenty of times, glad I didn't.

Watching the show became a lot more easier as the mystery of the ML disease comes to light. An unusual traumatic experience caused his selective amnesia. This is the biggest issue for the main couple.

I like the supporting characters too. They gave additional flavor to the show.

Give This a Chance- Ignore Annoying Background Music

I almost gave up on this drama because of the annoying background music and dubbing . I'm wondering if this is how the actual drama was released by the network TV or if the background music and dubbing just got messed up during subtitling and posting on YouTube, as some parts had missing audio in MangoTV channel. Too bad because aside from some annoying background music the actual songs from OST are not bad. Cinematography is nice too, everything looks crisp and pleasing overall. Anyway, I am glad I held on and completed this drama. Sure the story seems cliche on the surface about rich guy CEO falling for a middle class woman and amnesia but I found the presentation and flow of the story to be refreshing and somewhat different despite being cliche. The main leads start having romantic chemistry around episode 5 and the kisses are realistic not the usual deer in the headlight kisses that Chinese dramas are known for. There is a little bit of love triangle that does not last long and very tolerable. There were a lot of funny moments especially during scenes with the supporting cast. The second leads have a cute romance story that just blended well with the main leads story not overwhelming nor taking up too much time from the main leads. If you stick around towards the end of this drama you will be rewarded with an adorable happy ending :-)

Forgot out of 10

The premise was good, the series started out strong and everything was good until the constant amnesia came along. It became a bit of a pain to watch. The FL was a very well-written character in my opinion as she had a strong moral sense and was a strong character in general. The characters and the fluff are the things that save the drama from the abyss of Cliche Town.

All in all, if this series went in another direction halfway through, I think it would be of higher value. The amnesia was just ridiculous to be honest, just watch for the fluff.

I personally enjoyed this!

It's more accurate to say that I was sold after watching the first episode! I never expected much since I just randomly saw the synopsis of this on a sponsored post in Facebook and I thought, this seems to be a What's Wrong With Secretary Kim-ish type of drama. Well, I wasn't so wrong. Because the 1st half of the drama was indeed similar to it. But...! On the second half, the plot switched into something like the Kdrama Devilish Charm.

Overall, I love this. The plot is cliche, but light. Very easy to watch. No annoying characters except for one I guess (but that character is short-lived and really added spice to the story so that's acceptable). The plot twist (i.e., the disease, if you know what I mean) is kinda weird to me tho. Like, the drama is already looking real and all of a sudden they dropped that kind of absurd bomb. But yeah, since I never expected anything in the first place, I generously accepted it for the drama's sake.

The side couples' stories are sooo cute as well! Out of all supporting casts, Zhao Yuanfang is my favorite! He's been the most positive character of them all, funny, and always has the FL's back in whatever situation... On top of being handsome.

Now onto the romantic scenes - hands down pure awesomeness. It's so good seeing our main characters not holding back on such. I mean, they aren't supposed to. The kissing scenes look very genuine they made me giggle while watching.

If you are looking for a real light-hearted romcom, I recommend this. But I suggest you lower your expectations so you can enjoy.

For those who appreciate Rios PPL

To enjoy this you must appreciate classic Rio PPL as this drama is packed with creative and not so creative ways to incorparate Rio into the scenes... And the drama reminded me a bit of other C-dramas that also had excessive Rio PPL so if you loved those you will probably love this.

The drama itself is packed with cliches combining the plot form the American movie 50first dates and Korean Drama What´s Wrong With Secretary Kim. Entertaining but also draggy and a bit to repetitive at times making me lower the score.

The main couple has lovely chemistry and are fun to watch, the female lead is well composed smart and very lovable. The male lead is an easily melted icicle that is in a pot on a stove where the heat keeps going on and off... Both leads change their minds more often than it rains in Dramaland, which ended up getting on my nerves. However they stayed interesting an smart thru out. The drama.

The side characters are mid annoying to lovable, but do fall in to a bunch of over used cliches + why can´t dramas just let people be single instead of shipping every single character... The parents are also pretty decent, and having one of them being played by Sunny Hao it is to be expected that at leas one mom will be pretty lovable. And the drama does have some nice takes on my beloved clichés

So why the 7,5 and not higher, partly the sound and quality of the subs on the official streaming sight the sound kept going on and off again which of course effected my experience, so if you do find this in a place where everything works you may rate it hinger. However the dubbing was miss matched which I assume will be an issue wherever you watch it. The other part is the draggy parts and a bunch of unnecessary repetitive amnesia stuff. I love my amnesia but it can be too much. Another thing is the screen time that went to the side characters and their stories that just did not captivate me at all.

So there is a lot of good, and if you are in the mood for a smart female lead, a lot of clichés and Rio this is a good place to find it just mind the sound. If you do not enjoy Rio PPL I advise you to watch something else

It begins kind of boring for me, but halfway it is very good. Not the best, but it is still good to watch. The story didn't rush, but understandable. Though I wish they could do more about the main couple life before adult, which would make me understand them both more. The chemistry is good, and acting was perfect. The storyline was interesting as it is not use often. But I wish the reaction between the two main cast when they first met as adult to be more interesting.

The music was also great! There are some that I found boring, but some to be liking.

Overall, didn't regret watching. Worth watching.

Mediocre

This was nothing more than background noise. Mediocre in every aspect. Keep your remote handy because you will be fast forwading thru most of it. Male lead attractive, female lead pretty, secondary characters ok. Writing boring and typical. Do not understand the reviews saying it will make you cry. Really? Female lead became so annoying. Run away, get caught, lie, run away, get caught, lie. I think everyone who watches c-dramas knows the drill. I guess it is time to go back to watching K-dramas, at least they get it done in 16 episodes.

Old topics, modern setting

Before I watched Well-intended love from the same directors and I think it's interesting to watch how the man's and woman's role change over these dramas to the current one. Though it has certain "Secretary Kim" vibes and she's his secretary it feels like in the end it's a rather up-to-date family presented in the drama including working women or even a stay-at-home-husband. Furthermore the intimate scenes are lovely and the kisses are worth watching as well. CDrama certainly changes over time and that's a good thing in my opinion. Though conservative ideas remain of course, but well, let's be honest - we love watching them at least. Whether I'd want them for myself or not (rather not).

It's impossible to deny that the drama shows overused topics such as amnesia or the female lead's denial at the beginning, but later on I felt that it improved (though the OST didn't) and I especially liked the fact that the antagonists are not unneccessarily "evil" (or remain like that) and that they spend a lot of time on lovey-dovey stuff. In fact I'm tired of these 10-minute-endings I've watched over time and here they spent a lot of time on the end. Furthermore we don't have to cope much with annoying rich parents or other similar chlichés I'm rather tired of too.

Certainly it's not a deep story, the illness makes not much sense and the story about revealing company secrets was rather obvious. But it's a cute romance worth watching for the sake of romance and even the overbearing CEO we prolly all heard of doesn't seem as bad anymore in the end. Therefore I'm glad that I watched it.

I had to turn off the volume here and there from episode 10 as the background music is so loud you cannot hear the dialogue.

I still am patiently watching since it's a good story and the main leads are a good looking couple.

He lost his memory 5 years ago then met his girlfriend not remembering that she was his girlfriend, he fell in B love with her again.

She knew all his likes and dislikes and was suspicious that he must have known her before he lost his memories .

Sexual harassment

It is all in the headline. First half of the story is ML sexually Harassing the FL.
Most of the C-Dramas with Rich Boss ML are similar, as in harassing the FL with their Power, Authority and Money.
They always try to influence FL life without their permission just because they are rich and powerful.
K-Dramas have good Boss and Employee relationships (98.5% of the K-Dramas, obviously not all of them) Even the remaining 1.5% K-Dramas do not go beyond simple harassment (like Cat and Mouse fights)
At least other C-Dramas are limited in their sexual harassment of FL, this drama is full on Sexual Harassment of FL ( Even when she repeatedly tries to keep distance from ML)
These type of Dramas, even after FL falls for ML, it seems like Stockholm syndrome or Suspension effect - NOT LOVE
C-Dramas need to show respect for the FL characters and their stories.
What is the use of a Talented, beautiful and confident FL, if she is always tripped by the ML for no reason whatsoever.
Why does the ML always have the upper hand (just because he is rich and is boss) ?
ML can be arrogant of his handsomeness, but not too arrogant as to sexual harasses the women.
These type of dramas propagate the idea that anything done by rich and handsome man is OK, when it is NOT
If the things done by ML is done by some poor and not-so-handsome guy, he will be beaten and brought to the police or in the least see him as a pervert.
People argue that ML does not do such things to everyone, just the FL because he loves her. To them I say, if FL does not say it is OK (Out of love & not coercion), it is SEXUAL HAASSMENT especially when she is trying to flee from him.
ML asks FL to be his girlfriend to lend money.(Scumbag)
Hardest 8 episodes to get through, even then not satisfactory

Waste of Talent

I dropped this at episode 7. The storytelling is so jumpy and slow. It's so confusing like there's so many "Why". Such a waste of talent when ML and FL are doing their jobs so well in acting but the story given to them is a crap! The writers doesn’t seem to be sure how they really want to portray the male lead, if he will be a dominating CEO or a dumb one.

I watched Eden Zhao in Le Coup de Foudre as second ML and I really wanted to see more of him, didn't expect to be disappointed to see him as main role in this lousy story!

I can’t bear anymore, I will drop this for Begin Again. I hope it has a better storyline than this one!
