First Kiss
Xiang Qin, a cheerful but dumb Class F student becomes the centre of attentions when she publicly gets rejected from the smartest boy in the school Zhi Shu - who she has liked for over 2 years - because he hates dumb girls. Making matters worse, her house is the only house that collapses during a level 2 earthquake and the media braodcast this story on television. This incident allows A-Cai, Xiang Qin's father, to meet up with his old friend and offers A-Cai and Xiang Qin to stay at his house. Xiang Qin friend A-Jin - who also has a crush on Xiang Qin - embarrasses her more when he is trying to collect donation for her family and blames Zhi Shu for all her troubles. Trying to save her pride, she states that she doesn't need his help but her words backfire when she finds out her father's friend, Ah-Li turns out to be Zhi Shu's father.

Okay, I have to admit. I find the scene where she gives her letter extremely awkward. Its comical, but awkward. This episode for me, makes me think that's there not much to this character other than impulse, and doesn’t make me feel bad for her idiocy, instead makes me feel sorry that the actress was given. But I keep thinking of when this was made, and the dumb girl with a good heart was more the norm back then (At least in my viewer experience). I’ve seen better first episodes, but since I’ve seen this show twice already, I know the character development gets better as time goes on. So I’m excited for the next episode with more main character interaction. I do like how they destroyed the house in this one, it's more plausible than other adaptations I’ve seen.

Nice beginning. It started slow, but by the time she moves in... omg. I thought this guy was supposed to be cold :D He lights up like a Christmas tree when she's around. I love him. No wonder mommy saw wedding bells. Thought I'd be watching another stiff board in a INK drama, but Joe Cheng makes the character his own and nails this for me. I like this version the most.

After all this fuzz about i started watch it but first episode was big disapointment.
All cast is stiff and clumsy or starts suddenly overplay with not nessesary noise and movment.
Situations added to orignal story are all very silly or plain stupid.
I hoped something more professional bc many say that it is better than other versions...til now it it worse of them all with poor acting, directing and script.
...maybe it improves?

OK, at the beginning I was not very impressed. I am somewhat at loss by the attitude of classmates towards the heroine. It is normal that they stalk her just because she is somehow interesting? Trying to grab the letter out of her hands? I found it bullying and disturbing. Even as a narrative device it is a bit weird. And the heroine is really a bit slow but I hope it gets better. I know it is to emphasize the difference between her and the genius of IQ 200. But to tell the truth it is not necessary to make the girl look stupid just to make him look smarter. With that level of intelligence he would outsmart even very bright and clever girl and it still would look natural.
What I liked, on the other hand, was that the pace of story was quite fast. I knew the premise of the story - that she was supposed to move into his house - and I am very grateful that this arc was not extended over 4 episodes or so until she gets there.
But what I liked most was that knowing half smile Zhi Shu put on when he saw her. And then how he teased her. At first I had the impression that he was going to be all haughty and aloof when she finally comes. But this is better. It means he recognizes her presence. Moving to next ep.
