Best drama in years!

Ive watched so many cdramas and kdramas and this is very high on my list of favorites. I loved the story and choice of casting was amazing. The story of youqin and yetan and their struggles to find their love over and over is so sad and heartwarming at the same time. To fall in love again and again honestly just beautiful ? I hope there will be a second season, 40 episodes just wasnt enough and I will be impatiently waiting for as many others hope to have another season. If not then we need more dramas with these same actors in them!!

It's an amazing and lovely drama

This drama has a lovely osts be sure to listen to them and read their meaning because they are amazing .
all the characters has their own stories and help us to know their personality well.
I really love both main couples and the way that they fall in love. I also really liked that they showed all four realms.
The excellent actors and actresses of this series immerse you in their story with their unique acting, and this is very exciting because you can easily understand and sympathize with their feelings and understand the story better.
You can laugh and cry with all characters.
I also really liked that the two main characters in the story used their real voices, especially Chen Xing xu.
I really love Dai Ya Qi too ; she is so cute and beautiful and I hope to see her as the main role.
In this story, you see bad characters with good hearts as well as good characters with bad hearts, and you see how they try to grow and become better people, and in the end, there is no absolute good or bad.
You will also see how wrong judgments and blind prejudices will cause destruction

What brought me to this drama was director Chui Yui Bun. Initially I had low expectations, because the director's previous work, despite being starring very famous artists, did not meet my expectations, as in this drama I knew little about the work of the protagonists, I hesitated a little before watching it, but halfway through the drama I already was convinced that Chui Yui Bun got the casting choice right.
The script is well written, the screenwriter focused on the story of the two sisters, but did not forget to present the trajectory of the other characters in the plot, she knew how to balance funny scenes and dramatic scenes with a very pleasant text. The characters created are captivating. The ending is consistent with the unfolding of the drama, but only that thread of hope does not fully satisfy.
The cast was a good surprise, right at the beginning I found actor Chen Xing Xu's acting a bit mechanical, but when he gave life to the three soul fragments, the actor gave a show of interpretation. It was the first time I saw the work of actress Landy Li and actor Luke Chen, in addition to being beautiful, they acted with lightness and grace. Whether protagonists, antagonists or supporting actors, the entire cast did an impeccable job, certainly, it would be a more accurate job if the voice was captured at the moment of the scene and not dubbed, even though it is the voice of the artist himself, the emotion is not always the same the moment the scene was taken.
The director was right in choosing the script and the cast, produced well-finished scenes with beautiful photography, the CGI is very pleasing to the eye, the editing is well done and has very few errors. The drama was neither slow nor rushed, for my taste, the director should have added a scene from a few thousand years later, as he did in Ashes of Love, this would have made for a more pleasant ending, but even so, the ending was very emotional .
The soundtrack is very nice. The presence of Sa Ding Ding's incomparable voice and Mao Bu Yi's soft voice enrich the drama.
The costume is extremely beautiful.

Do not leave this drama in between it'll be the biggest mistake of your life

This is such a good drama. To be honest I don't really like ancient drama but this one is just woww.
The story is amazing and it keeps the audience engaged the entire time and it's not boring.
It is funny, romantic and adventurous at the same time.
The cast did an outstanding work throughout the show and they made us feel connected to the emotions of the show. The casting direction did good work and got the best actors and actresses.
I cried watching and I don't cry that easily when I m watching dramas.

This drama is just wow.

The Starry Love was such a satisfying, entertaining drama that gave me the kind of story I've always wanted! When I first saw the trailer, I wasn't sure if I wanted to watch it because it looked too comedic for my tastes, but I soon realized that the comedy also served to offer insights into our characters. The four main characters are so well-developed that I truly loved each of them.

The twin princesses who have a strong & loving bond, always putting each other first and supporting each other; Yetan is tough on the outside but has a fierce & loyal heart, Qingkui is gentle and kind and doesn't hesitate to speak up for others. I especially liked Qingkui because sometimes kind-hearted characters are made out to be naive damsels in distress. Qingkui played to her strengths, was always clear-headed, and could speak so eloquently.

Finally, a Heavenly Prince who is decisive and remains true to his heart; typically this sort of character is torn between responsibility and love, the world vs one person. Shaodian Youqing had so many memorable lines. And lastly, a Void Prince whose scheming is actually always for the sake of those he cares most deeply about. The romance between Chaofeng & Qingkui won me over first, but at the conclusion of the second story arc I was so moved by the main romance!

Not only do Li Lan Di and Chen Xing Xu do an excellent job with humorous scenes (it's not easy to avoid being cringey!), they have excellent chemistry and capture the emotions of their characters so well. (I hated Chen Xing Xu's character in Goodbye My Princess and thought I'd associate it with him forever, but his performance here has proven me wrong.) I have probably watched every Chen Mu Chi and He Xuan Lin scene at least three times. Chen Mu Chi looks so good as Chaofeng that I'll really need an adjustment period the next time I see him in a drama. In addition, the supporting characters were all great, Hai Chao was *hilarious* and totally spot-on, Fei Chi was funny as well, Yetan's friends were wonderful, the villains were immensely hateable, Wu Dai was adorable.. The only annoying character is Biqiong but don't worry, she has very little screentime.

The last ~10 episodes are so fast-paced, but I'm not complaining. It's a nice change from 50+ episode dramas where half the episodes feel like a slog. I do hope for an epilogue/bonus scene, but if we don't get one I'm still satisfied, as this drama brought me so much joy. It feels very rewatchable and it's making my all-time favorites list.

Regarding the OST, I played Mao Buyi's version of 天地无瑕 ('Flawless World') on repeat for weeks. A beautiful song, and I didn't feel like it was overused in the drama.

Loved it, but have a couple of boxes of Kleenex handy!

I really loved this drama! The cast is amazing! Loved all the main leads. Loved the relationship between the sisters! Loved the intermixing between the 4 realms. Loved all the couples, loved the 3 Masters. Loved that the writers found a wonderful way to show that the mortal Emperor loved Tan all along with the gifts under the table. In fact, that might have been one of my favorite surprises! Loved the songs and the beautiful settings. Now, about the writing... I never cried so much in any drama before!! I was not the only one either! Those of us commenting were all crying! We cried because we were invested in these characters. That is the power of a well written drama. I went through a box and a half of Kleenex during this show! That being said, as well written as I thought it was, I was also upset with the ending. We all love a happy ending and we all felt sad that we didnt get to see one! It was absolutely heart breaking when Kui sacrificed herself for Tan. God, but it was hard to get past! But when Tan did the same and we never got to see them return, it was pretty disappointing, I'm not going to lie. Just about everyone was unhappy with the ending. The writers did a great job, except for the ending, where I felt they dropped the ball. Or They ran out of episodes. Either way, it could have been better planned. But, 95% of this drama was written extremely well. I thought the finding of the 3 versions of Xuan Shang took too long, but each version was kind of entertaining.
Some commenters were really, really vocal about how they felt about the bad guys in this drama! I was really angry as well which means the actors playing those characters acted well! I loved all the couples! I was happy to see Wudai with the snake princess. She was awesome for him! Would have liked to see her win him over though. Btw, loved Wudai in general! He is such a lovable character! So well played! My favorite character was 3rd Void Prince, Chao Feng. His character arc was my favorite. I loved watching him and his 2nd, Hai Chao. Hai Chao was a great character! I loved watching him fall for Qing Kui. Watching him lose her was heartbreaking. Loved Di Lan Jue! Having him turn into a puppy and end up wearing a diaper was comedic genius! Loved him and ZiWu. Loved Qeng Heng. Was very sorry to see him not get a love interest at the end.
Well, I would definitely recommend this drama! Just have more than 1 box of Kleenex, you are gonna need it!

One of if not the best in their own genre (Xian Xia)

The story about wrong marriage and right groom. Summary review.

A fun and comedic drama while being in the XianXia genre. Therefore there is also angst awaits.

This drama move at a fast pace and does not leave anything out to hang for a very long time and the story develops and progresses very smoothly each episode. This is due to the drama does a lot of foreshadowing in almost all the episode be it from words, object or action and they uses it well.

The BEST thing about the drama are the casts. They were all developed in a certain way and the acting itself made such a huge impact on the drama. Hence why watching this drama again will be good too as the acting from all the cast (especially my bias after this drama - CXX and LLD) make the each and every scene much more impactful. i.e. ever small movement, such as their eyes and facial expression and the comfortability of the cast to be with each other reflect on screen.

Thing to note, this drama is a XianXia drama after all, therefore they are some tropes that are used but to the credit of this drama they were not pull to the forefront and was not the main focus on the drama as previous mentioned everything move fast but also smoothly.

That said, every good thing must come with something to dislike. The ending. In a viewing term it does end on a happy note but being a fan whom is invested and attracted to the acting of the cast made me really want more and they deserve more.

BEST XIANXIA EVER ?

This has to be the best xianxia drama that I’ve ever watched. I started watching it because I liked Oliver Chen since fall in love. Since episode one I was hooked. This drama is BRILLIANT and so well written. There are so many incredible dialogues during the 40 episodes and I share many of them here. I was truly amazed by so many characters here, specially Ye Tan and Youqin.
Youqin will be one of the characters that I will remember forever. He was so cold and distant at the beginning, but since Ye Tan came into his life, he changed completely. He became another completely different person, full of warm and compassion. His love for her was out of this world and hers too. This couple has to be one of my favorite ones.
Another great aspect of this drama was that the humor, so many hilarious scenes throughout the whole drama.
Thank you so much for giving us the chance of watching this GEM. I enjoyed the ride except for the ending.
This drama made us laugh, cried and create in us so many different emotions during each episode.
Congratulations to all the amazing cast members, producers, and each person that made part of this MASTERPIECE!!! I will really miss it.

I really loved this drama. The visuals and fantasy were all great. The storyline was awesome except for that last episode, I mean it was good don’t get me wrong but the ending ended like there was going to be a good ending but then in the last 10 seconds of the episode it didn’t seem like an ending. It just left you hanging. I went on the web and found there were supposed to be extra episodes 41 and 42 but that never happened so I was upset. I’m not trying for anyone to stop watching this drama it is excellent and I was satisfied all the way until the last 10 seconds. You will have to watch it to understand what I mean but please don’t skip all the episodes to watch the last 10 seconds or you will miss an excellent drama.

Chen Xing Xu was so darn good as the Empyrean Xuan Shang, I don’t know how else to describe him. I love this actor. I almost didn’t recognize who he was until the 2nd episode. To change into 3 different types of personalities and play his original character of a total of 4 personalities was crazy excellent. I fell in love with the Fire character. Lol. Landy Li (Li Guang Ye Tan), her playing this role, and I want to see more of her. This is my second time watching her and really didn’t get her in the first drama. The way she played her character was really good. A lot of emotions I felt. Luke Chen (Chao Feng) and He Xuan Lin (Li Guang Qing Kui), these two, wow, were great, Luke Chen is very handsome and He Xuan Lin she played that very nice and mannered character, she was lovely.

The visuals, fantasy, costumes, graphics, animations, and music are excellent. I thank all the actors and actresses who also played great, I applaud them. Thanking all of the team that made this drama a success for me.

Promising start but fell short towards the last quarter

Despite everyone singing praises for this drama, I felt very differently about it and this drama turned out to be a giant disappointment for me.

Let's start with the things I didn't like about this drama. First off, I found Chen Xingxu's character terribly bland in this drama. His character is what I might have expected from a drama from a few years back. All the recent Wuxia/Xianxia drama's male mcs have been so good lately so I felt like Youqin just fell really short in term of character's depth and personality. And this disappointed me terribly because I loved Chen Xingxu in Goodbye My Princess. I loved his character so much I had a Pinterest board for him ? So I was looking forward to his performance in this drama. I can't blame him though, I felt like his character was poorly written due to script writing and the directing.

Honestly, the whole time I watched this drama, there was not one moment where I felt like I wanted to root for Youqin or felt like I shipped Youqin and Yetan. All the plotlines that play out to suggest they're experiencing hardships and going through near death experiences together felt very forced. If I compare this drama to Love Between Fairy and Devil or Ashes of Love, this drama falls very short in terms of creating hardships that force the main couple to have a deep attachment to each other. It feels like the writer tried their best to create situations where the main couple would feel a desperate need for each other or create this whole "I can't live without you" thing but failed.

HOWEVER, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the relationship and storyline between Chaofeng and Qingkui because it felt genuine and natural. From the get go, Qingkui is not portrayed as your typical smart, witty, strong female character who has a sad backstory (yes unlike Yetan). So I honestly didn't expect much out of her storyline. But OMG I love her. She's got a heart of gold and I love her genuine nativity. It felt refreshing to watch.

I love the relationship between her and Chaofeng that develops. I'm a real sucker for male characters who think they're super bad boy but when they meet a girl they like, become such a simp. I like how the beginning of their relationship starts with Chaofeng having to lie and manipulate her despite not wanting to as he needs her to take his side. He's constantly trying to convince himself that he's only nice to her because power and the throne is his ultimate goal but eventually realises that he truly loves her. It's such a classic but underrated trope and it's played out very well in this drama. Damn I was soooo whipped for these two. ALSO the costumes for the Void Realm was absolute chef's kiss. Both Chaofeng's and Qingkui's clothes, hair and accessories gave me life!!! I screamed like crazy at Chaofeng's gorgeous wedding gown. Chef's kiss I tell you.

Lastly, this drama is one of those dramas that starts off very promising and intriguing and then falls short by the last quarter. By episode 30 or so, I felt like I was watching filler episodes of an anime. Everything became very boring and surface. There were no longer plotlines that threatened the existence or happiness of our characters. It's a pretty much all lovey dovey happy happy for a really long time. And eventually when there was a threat, I felt like they threw it in last minute just to make the story interesting.

Overall it's a decent drama for anyone who's new to Xianxia or watching this genre for the first time. But it definitely felt like I was watching Ashes of Love all over again with the sets and similar Xianxia storyline. What started out as a 8/10 ended up being a 6.5/10 for me!

A beautiful story with character growth

A beautiful love story that evolves with the characters. Every actors and actresses amazed me with their beautiful acting. Of course, Ml and Fl come from an acting school which make them so professional at conveying complicated feelings that idol actors cannot.
Beautiful ost. I am in love with the with Dingding and Mao. They poured in every last emotions into the songs and took us in a rollercoaster of emotions as we listened to the songs.
Although this drama cannot beat AOL but it has a special place in my heart.
