Catching the Mouse
Likes1. One hell of a ride! It took the basic question of 'nature vs nurture' and put a lot of interesting things along the way. Just when you think you know who the killer is and why, the writer comes up with a sudden twist that makes you rethink what you know. I appreciated that the writer was able to explain a lot of the small clues and questions we have (although most of the ideas were unbelievable).
2. Loved Bareum and Moochi. I wish they were more scenes of them working together. I really like Moochi but sometimes it feels like he is always too late. He is always drunk or away whenever something major happens or cant be reached.
3. I liked Bongyi at the start even though she was a brat. But in the latter episodes her character was just there when convenient. And the romance between her and Bareum was weird.
4. Never liked Hongju. She was a mystery. How can she not call her parents after all this time? Because of guilt? And i find it hard to believe that the father never recognized who she was when she is a famous tv personality.
5. The whole govt conspiracy was interesting but the big reveal wasnt too impactful.
6. I feel bad for Sung Yohan. And Shin Sang. And Bareum. The ending was sad but it was the most appropriate ending.
Dislikes
1. Too long, the middle where Bareum became a vigilante was boring.
2. The final twist in the last 2 episodes was overkill but it answered a lot of my questions.
Rating: 8.5/10

It's shocking how the drama didn't need ANY crutches to be brilliant. No scene was for nothing, guys.
Even with 20 episodes, ALL the scenes were explained and rescued with the coherence of the plot, delivering a cohesive, quality work with a lot of maturity to address so many heavy themes and so many different traumas.
The fact that the plot didn't need to explore romance to hold the audience was also very pleasing to me. Long episodes without a minute wasted. Lee Seung Gi as Jung Ba Reum is brilliant. This role certainly marked not only his career but also an entire generation of actors who will dream and strive to seek this level of excellence.

EVERY EPISODE IS A MOVIE!!!!
Mouse is a MASTERPIECE. The storyline is vague but is enticing enough to make you addicted to it. Creating theories, predictions and guesses are useless because the plot is so UNPREDICTABLE. This drama will make you punch the air, facepalm your face, sob some tears and die of nervousness. The EMOTIONS potrayed by every actor is on point and will make you emotionally distressed. The CAST ON ITS OWN is a 10/10.Lee Seung Gi's dramas are always bangers and this is no exception. However from the beginning his character don't seem to stand out that much considering he is the main lead. This drama will make you curious as to WHY EXACTLY is his character in the drama. The relationship dynamics between all the leads are the main reason this drama carries such an impact even with a slow start. THE ONLY MAN WE TRUST IS KO MOO CHI!!!

Not impressed but not bad
seriously, I hate leaving reviews on Drama's before finishing them but this is just no. Straight off from episode 1 I was just not impressed. Episode one was all over the place for me. It was messy and irritating. It began getting a bit more interesting when they began introducing the idea to identify psychopaths' before they were born. The psycopath gene and genius gene was quite interesting but it just went downhill again.Episode 2 on the other hand was great! I loved watching that kid and his past, the fact that he scratched his own arm just to control his irritation to others was great. then again it began going down and I nearly dropped the show like 5 times. Ep 3 was mid.
Episode 4 was incredible! the 7 deadly sin's part was genius, I never would have thought of that. The whole news broadcast in ep 4 was perfection, I would rewatch that episode alone. Then again the rest was just pathetic and messy.
after episode 4 the rest was unbareable. I HATE Bong Yi will all my heart. She irritates me beyond words. she was unbearable, I hate characters like her.
Sung Yo Han totally saved the show for me. Definitely my fave character, The second they killed him I knew this show would be crap. The whole brain surgery thing was where I almost gave up entirely.
Even though I hate it, I will finish the show because I have dignity. If by some chance I end up likin the rest of the show I will update my review and change my rating but at this point, I wont be able to rate in higher than a 5. I adore thriller and crime mystery drama but this one is just not for me,
edit: Oh my god!! I am so happy i decided to continue. the plot twist in ep 14 was pure GOLD. who wrote this script?? some sort of mastermind probably. My rating went up from 5 to 7.5. Amazing

Outlandish plot
The premise was interesting and I thought this would be right up my alley but unfortunately not. First episode started off strong (albeit violently) and my only gripe was the constant time skips that happened in quick succession. Second episode was going well until a barrage of new characters were introduced and I gave up trying to reconcile the adult versions with their kid counterparts. The whole in utero "psychopath test" was starting to annoy me because it seemed way too implausible and far fetched. Maybe if you're able to suspend disbelief but I honestly couldn't. I wouldn't have minded if the show decided to go into the ethics of the whole nature vs nurture debate based on this premise but it decided to veer sharply into sci-fi territory with brain surgeries and whatnot. I threw in the towel at this point since I was watching Beyond Evil at the same time and did not have the time and patience to keep up with the various plot developments of 2 different shows. When I saw the showrunners release a special episode just to clarify the relationships between the characters I realized I made the right choice. It is most definitely NOT a good thing if a show has to dedicate special episodes to make it less confusing to viewers. On the bright side, the acting was excellent, even the kid actors were great. Conclusion: Watch only if you enjoy brain workouts. If you're looking for a casual serial killer thriller this is not the show for you.

I totally enjoyed the first episode, it was thrilling and set up a great killer mystery plot. Then they pulled the 180/time jump/complete style shift/slow down that you usually get when they try to hook you with an awesome first episode. Episode 2 was like a different show. I almost didn't make it through episode 2 because it lost me that much, but I forced myself to episode 3 because of the reviews. It hadn't hooked me by then so I dropped it. The plot went from thrilling and fast paced in episode 1 to slow and a little comical. It just didn't do it for me.

Very Promising Start!!!
Waouhhh the first two episodes were very solid specially episode 1: one of the best openers I’ve seen for a while in a kdrama.Show is dark, bloody and sometimes quite disturbing and manages to ask intriguing and uncomfortable questions. The child actors also did a wonderful job in the first episode. They were so goooddddd and creepy AF.
Can’t wait to see more about this show as of now Mouse is up to an amazing start!!! Highly recommend if you’re into crime/thriller dramas.

The Mouse Is In The First Episode!
20/01/2023
The first episode in this series is simply the best!
Most will be on the edge of their seats experiencing tenterhook moments I reckon as it has one of the longest in depth graphic murder scenes, ever!
I just wish the other episodes that followed had been done in the same fashion not that they were terrible or anything plus I haven't finished the series yet.
Unfortunately, I worked out who the serial killer was early on as soon as I laid my eyes on him and that is why I haven't gone further than three episodes to date.
On checking to see if my suspicions were correct (they were) has more or less brought everything to a halt for me regarding Mouse.
I will get back to it and finish it at some point, but not right now.
What I will say is that the characters so far have been awesome as well as the story, but it would have been better had they misdirected or fooled me more.
I really wonder how many others worked it out like me?
Regardless, this still deserves recognition so comes highly recommended as it is a unique series full of suspense, gore and great story telling as well as characters that make it believable.
Most viewers will be eliminating potential suspects to get to the serial killer only what they know mightn't be right or who they think it is mightn't be the correct person...
Or...maybe it is the right one!

Title justifies the series
Loved the 1st episode. The suspense and the most importantly that intense in every scene and they explained about what this drama is about in 1st episode itself and also what is all about. And later episodes how they carry forward matters.Snake and rat and a kid . Starting scene to ending how it is connected to a person wow..
I don’t want to compare this drama with any other drama or series until I watched it completely.
The reason to start watching this drama LEE SEUNG GI but because of 1st episode I’m more excited how his role gonna be later on.
Worth watching. 1st episode won’t disappoint you at all.

I guess this was one of those heavy dramas that one should thoroughly prepare oneself before committing to watching the whole thing.Frankly, the initial premise of the show being that it may be possible to identify psychopath genes from the very beginning to identify future serial killers was an interesting idea. Yet, it also presents a moral dilemma of whether or not it's okay to try to decide whether or not it's okay to kill fetuses who may end up getting those genes. Or whether or not everyone has said genes will inevitably grow up to be killers.
While starting this drama, I suddenly recall Lee Seunggi mentioning that he wanted to play a psychopath character, which was a break away from the usual good guy roles he used to get. I guess, with Mouse, he's really getting that wish. With that in mind, one most likely needs to be wary while watching this drama since you may end up encountering some unexpected twists.
As much as the plot initially intrigued me, because it's been a while I doubt that I'd actually find the time to watch this. Dropping this drama because I'm no longer in the state of watching this without ending up becoming depressed about it.
