I've watched You're Beautiful and loved it. It prompted me to watch the Japanese version Ikemen Desu Ne which I also loved. Out of love for the storyline, I decided to watch the Taiwanese version instead of re-watching the Korean one which was my favourite at that point.

Fabulous Boys is now my favourite version of the three. It is beautiful and though others say they would give it a lesser score for being a remake, I have to say this version blows the others out of the water for me.
Of the three, this one has the most character depth, the most emotion-filled scenes and while it has its comic moments, the characters are never over the top and are never annoying. This is the first version that hasn't made me hate the characters passionately nor does it make me want to rip my hair out for their stupid acts. As I said before, the characters have real depth and emotions that are simply beautiful across the screen. Certain characters especially Shin Woo/Shu/Xin Yu have really been improved upon in this drama.

Story: 9/10
While it's another version of You're Beautiful, the story is still great. For me, I don't find it as similar to the other two as some others have found it. If anything, I thought they took elements from both the Korean and Japanese versions and incorporated them into the story while adding new pieces. Overall, I thought they did a fantastic job. It wasn't a carbon copy of the others but rather, a new point of view on the original story. It definitely was still entertaining to watch regardless of how many times you've seen You're Beautiful/Ikemen Desu Ne.

Acting/Cast: 9.5/10
They were amazing! As mentioned before, I preferred You're Beautiful over Ikemen Desu Ne and this was mainly due to the casting. Jang Geun Suk, Jung Yong Hwa, Lee Hong Ki and Park Shin Hye are the original A.N.Jell and they rocked it! I loved them as the original cast. However, there were little points in their acting that I had problems with when I was watching You're Beautiful.
In Fabulous Boys, however, these nuances were gone. The Go Mi Nam/Gao Mei Nan character was made less annoying and a lot more insightful than she was before in my opinion.
Also, Jiro Wang as Hwang Tae Kyung/Huang Tai Jing was awesome! I thought Jang Geun Suk did an amazing job but Jiro took the character for an emotional rollercoaster with his performance. And truly, he did such a great job that he's ended up in my favourite actors with one single role.
Hwang In Deok did a superb job with the Shin Woo/Xin Yu character. If anything, he really improved upon the character for me and it's really one of those things that made this drama the best for me. Also, he's extremely handsome which made this drama especially lovely to watch (combined with others like Jiro Wang and Evan Yo)!
Evan Yo was commendable in his role as Jeremy. He was cute, he was heartwarming and he was perfect. Not to mention, very talented.
The rest of the cast did a great job as well. Characters like Youie/Liu Hui Ni, the manager Manager Ma/Mark and the stylist Kko Di/Ke Di improved for me and made me actually like them for once.

Music: 7/10
The drama reuses the tunes from You're Beautiful but adds its new ones as well. You're Beautiful was one of those dramas that started my love for OSTs and this drama does not disappoint in its music. The new additions are really beautiful as well.

Rewatch value: 6/10
I'd re-watch my favourite scenes but probably not the entire drama. There were great moments in this drama!

Overall - 8.5/10

Certainly recommended for anyone
-who loves the original story
-is looking for a great gender-bender
-loves dramas where there are gorgeous boys (and likes watching boys fall for one girl)
-loves dramas with bands and great music

This was more than a decent remake. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this version of You're Beautiful. It was cute, fun and kept me interested, much like the original Korean version did.

Despite all that, though, I couldn't, in the end, rate this drama above an 8. There are a few reasons for this. Number one, it is almost exactly like the Korean version. And I mean, exactly. Usually in remakes, they add their own flavor to mix up the story a bit. They did end up doing that here with Fabulous Boys, but until the middle of the drama. The whole beginning was pretty much word for word You're Beautiful, but in Chinese. Number two, the music is also pretty much identical. There are a few new songs, but a lot of the background music is the exact same as was used in You're Beautiful and two of the main songs were the same, as well, just sung in Chinese. The last song was original, but nowhere near as good as 'What should I Do?' Still, overall, the music, while not all of it original, was good, just not as awesome as was in The Korean version. Plus, Jiro Wang, who has an awesome voice, still doesn't quote deliver the same impact as JKS.

Speaking of Jiro Wang, this brings me to my third reason for not being able to rate this version higher. I was, all through the drama, extremely conflicted on this last point, and I still am. That is...the drama is Fabulous BOYS. Jiro, as hot and sexy as he is, is a fabulous MAN, acting alongside BOYS and a GIRL. He was wonderful in the role, don't get me wrong, but he was obviously a few years older than everyone else. I think the time for him to be playing flower boy roles is over now and in the future, I hope to see him in more mature roles.

Finally, the ending scene was a letdown. It wasn't as emotionally powerful as the same scene in You're Beautiful. The dialog was strained and not delivered as poignantly as in the original, plus, my issue with the last song, as I stated previously.

Besides those issues, it was a great drama to watch. I liked it a lot better than the Japanese remake, that's for sure. Nothing beats the original, though.

When i find a drama that has remakes i usually watch all remakes, just so i can compare one to another, so i watched Korean whitch is original version, then Japanese and lastly Taiwanese, i loved Taiwanese the most, because the acting was great, and Jiro Wang did a great job, so my favorite Taiwanese actor didnt let me down.

At first i thought it was an exact replica of Korean version, but as i watched every episode, they put something new in, and it was a really great drama, worthy of watching. I know how Taiwanese dramas know to drag things, but i never saw any of dragging here like i did in Meteor Garden, or It started with a kiss.

As i said in my opinion its the best out of 3, i absolutely loved it :D

In my opinion, after watching tons of Taiwanese dramas, I really enjoyed Fabulous Boys.
The plot of the story was amazing and not as predictable as I had imagined. On top of that, the whole story was made 10 times better and realistic with an cast! Not to mention that despite the fact that Cheng Yu Xi (aka Su Li Wen)she did a very good job portraying the character Gao Mei Nu/Gao Mei Nan.
The official soundtracks of this drama are fantastic! Hooked onto the songs! And I have to add that the songs really adds some magic to the story in terms of bringing out the mood of the scenes.
I am not someone who enjoys watching dramas a second time but I believe that this is will be the first drama I would want to watch over again.
Overall, a good drama with a good mix of entertainment and romance. A good laugh for all those out there looking for a comedy and also a good, touching drama for all those looking for a love story

I Promise You ??

I give this drama a 7.5/10. I feel that it was a cute musical rom-com w/ just enough cringe and heart-throbbing moments to satisfy most drama lovers.

Pros:
- Park Shin-Hye's cameo
- The music featured in the drama was good. I hardly ever skipped the intro song.
- This remake, for the most part, kept the integrity and appeal of the original Korean drama "You're Beautiful".
- The Male Lead was total eye-candy, I saw him in Falling Into You and thought that he favored Jang Keun-suk. So, imagine my surprise when I found out he reprised Keun-suk's role in the Taiwanese remake.

Cons:
- It kept too close to the original source material for most of the series, so much so that a few times I skipped scenes because I already knew what would happen. I wished the writers or director would have added more original scenes like the musical performance by the Indigenous people.

- I'm not sure if it's just me, but I feel like they dumbed-down the female leads character compared to Park Shin-Hye's version (Park's version was already a little too innocent/naive for my liking). One of the characters even described her as "slow-witted". I get that she is supposed to be portrayed as innocent and naive to worldly matters. But, come on! There were moments where I just face-palmed at her obliviousness.

- The 2nd Female lead (Can't remember her name) was more annoying than the original portrayal, not just because she was written that way, but due to the actress's portrayal of the character. She fell flat for me.

- Tai Jing's mother portrayal was another character that I just felt like the actress's performance fell flat. I sometimes forgot about her plot point until I saw her pop-up on the screen wearing all black.

Overall, this was a good drama and by far the best remake of the original Korean drama You're Beautiful.

Fabulous Boys was funny and interesting. I think the main characters were entertaining, especially Gemma! This used to be one of my FAVOURITE Taiwanese Dramas (until I switched into Kdrama)! I recommend this drama to those people who haven't seen it yet! ^_^

I really like this version so much! :)

Story: 9/10 because it's based on the Korean version, but it has some differences that I still like about this version.

Acting: 10/10 because I think the acting is amazing. I like that the second lead does more in his role so this drama can't make me choose to support Xin Yu or Tai Qing. The actress is doing an amazing job in her role(main lead).

Music: The music has always been great in all the versions. I love that they kept some of the original music, but also had new music as well.

Rewatch value: 10/10 because I like this version a lot like I mentioned b4.

I think that everyone got their roles down. I think the leads have great chemistry, it's building chemistry. The kisses aren't awkward, I can feel the love in the kisses & the glances & the jealous looks from the leads.

Sadly, not as good as the original. You're Beautiful will forever hold that spot in my heart, and usually I love remakes (especially of iconic scenes and tropes), but this one just left a bad taste in my mouth (sadly, especially when it came to the iconic scenes).
Where the story was the same I wanted it to be different, and where the story was different, I wanted it to be the same.
I'm not exactly sure why, but this drama really just made it clear to me that there IS a wrong way to do an adaptation/remake.
The acting was not stellar, it was just ok and even a little amateur.
From what I remember of the music (I've already forgotten a lot of it), the better versions can simply be found in the soundtrack to the Korean version.
I believe the thing I was most upset about was the adaptation of the character Jeremy. He just was not up to par AT ALL with any of the other Jeremys I've seen. And it'll sound really harsh (supa sorry) but he should be ashamed try and compare himself to Lee Hong Ki's Jeremy. It just feels like the Great Value version of an attempt at the originally complex, beautiful role.
Anyway, nothing really to see here. Very average, slightly less so. I would only recommend if you were a SUPER MEGA DIE HARD FAN of the general story of You're Beautiful/Ikemen Desu Ne, already knowing that each adaptation is an entirely new drama on it's own. And if you weren't as in love with Lee Hong Ki's Jeremy as I.

This was one of my first Taiwanese dramas. This was when I was totally obsess over Jiro wang.
I never saw any other versions so I actually had a chance to enjoy this one. I never truly find a girl pretending to be a boy that interesting. I gave this a try for Jiro n it was enjoyable.

Very cliche of course but the music was alright and the story is jst flowing like that. It's very predictable but it's fine to watch a band run around in dramas sometimes. I'm sure a lot of people prefer the Korean version. I'm sure both versions are amazing n not disappointing. I heard they both have the same script except in different languages.

So I would not highly recommend it but I'd suggest anyone to watch it for the pleasure of the eyes. If you have time, why not?

its ok

I actually loved the Korean version (original) it was my favorite but since I want to see this guy Jiro Wang as the male lead I am now trying to watch this one, I have seen him in a couple of Taiwan dramas that he is just the second male lead, i dont like comparing so i guess I will enjoy this drama like I enjoyed the other Taiwan dramas before

Un bon remake, plus actuel, plus dynamique, de "You are beautyful".

Les acteurs sont bons, beaux, attachants. La romance est super cute.

Quelques bémols cependant ;

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The actors are good-looking, great, endearing. Romance is super cute.

A few flaws though;
- It remains obvious that the LF is a girl whatever her "disguise". I know no-gender idols are all the rage, but the actress can't pretend to be a boy at any time.
- some passages (especially the last episodes) are too fast, a little too rush.

That said, I watched it with great pleasure.
