Another gender bender trope with a good story.

This is a series about two opposites attracted to each other with a lot of comedic relief, side of drama and just enough soul swapping.

I liked:
-the way the series focused on the life of idols outside the limelight. Their daily lives  and the reality that not everyone in a group or band have a good personal relationship.
-they showed a contrast of a well loved child and an abandoned child nicely. We can't choose our parents but we can choose our friends. Jiang Yi didn't have much growing up he has his manager/best friend who has his back.
-the rationalized fangirling of the besties Tong Tong and Shang Shang. Not all fangirls are cray cray . They know and accept that their idols are human.
-the line between gossip and responsible writing. Although the series didn't dive much into it, they clearly placed a line how an entertainment writer is different from a paparazzi or a gossip writer.
- The writer wrapped up the story of how Jiang Yi's family broke up and how Shang Shang helped him heal his scars.

I didn't like the lack of background to Tong Hua and Pei Shu they showed a bit of their past but it was not enough to conclude of they had feelings for each other or Pei Shu had feelings for her. We are left to assume how we perceive their relationship.

It had the same vibe as the series don't disturb my study. We are watching a story within a story.  In DDMS though it was not the FL who wrote the story.

All in all I like the ending showing it was a story made up by the FL to help her understand the ML  and the reason why the relationship almost didn't work for them.  We do need to be able to emphatize with others and symphatize since we all have different stories to tell and have different dreams and goals and to find that other person who understands and accepts you as you is hard in real life.

The series has a lot of funny moments that balances the drama. I liked the sound effects used in the series than the osts. Lols.

LJ and SZ are both good with their roles but  SZ shined brightly when their souls were swapped.  I have seen LJ in Eternal Love and I must say she kinda developed her knack with the soul swap thing but compared to SZ he really nailed the nuances of the FL. The rest of the actors did well in their roles too.

Would definitely rewatch this.

This drama is very funny and entertaining. Even though it's a fantasy based drama, I really enjoyed every episode. The story is funny and light, there is no dragging plot, and the characters in the story are good.

The chemistry between ML and FL is great and wow I'm blown away. Each cast can play a character when they switch bodies. ML is great when swapping to FL and FL is great also when swapping to ML. I don't doubt their acting, because I've watched some of their dramas. And in this drama I was very fascinated.

The supporting casts are also very good. I like their friends, ML's manager, who likes to nag but is caring and always supportive, as well as the Little Galaxy members. FL's bestfriend, I love her so much. She's such a cutie, a very good friend and also very beautiful! FL's parents, my goodness they are both so cute and kind, I wish I had parents like them.

The soundtrack of this drama is also very good, I like the songs. And the funniest thing is, my goodness, I can't stop laughing every time I hear the background music in certain scenes. The BGM is so funny, the best!!

This drama really impressed me. The casts and the crews are doing a great job.

As story within a story???!!!

I dont usually start my reviews like this but, PLEASE WATCH THIS SERIES!! Not only they have an awesome casts being lined up but you can never doubt their actings; definitely superb. And when you have stories where characters switch bodies? It really tests out the acting capabilities of the actor/actress and i would say it is a job well done.

The drama was generally cute with a touch of comedy in it though there are some parts where you would need tissues. Also, surprisingly there isn't an antagonist in the story.

A Relationship about Real couple and real humane characters!

What a sweet surprise this drama has been! I started this drama with almost no expectation at all. The intro seemed cliché the starting episodes too seemed following normal tropes. But as soon as I watched the ML , I realised that his character has much depth than meets the eye , esp when you see how casual he was at his own B'day party , has a meditation room etc.

What I really liked?
The most striking feature of this drama is that it has no real villain! No toxic evil people , just normal people doing there job who sometimes becomes greedy / ambitious. It is truly a mature drama about sweet people , there is no unnecessary misunderstandings , no push & pull ,it just maintains to be sweet through and through , a perfect drama to watch at the end of a tiring day!
The drama although has a very simple plot but the plot is not its USP but its characters , their conversations, their philosophy. This drama provides you with the sweetest SFL (Tong Hua), Ideal parents (Sheng's parents), Lovely
ex , and Caring boss and Manager. And very good OST!
All in all this drama is boost of optimism.

The things that I didn't like?
This drama is generally very realistic in terms of emotional expression , thinking and decision making, But in terms of professional responsibility it tends towards more fiction. The FL rarely does any serious amount of work and the amount of holidays she takes is highly unsustainable. The fact that her BFF is also her colleague and also rich, is too good to be true. Same goes for our male lead , celebrities are generally very busy either writing their song or practising and after release they do tours and at off times they constantly shoot ads etc But he just stays home and does almost nothing.
Apart from these minor inconsistencies , this drama does not have any high note /any sort of climax , so some people who binge watch may feel it to be boring , too simple or not spicy enough.
This drama is not for binge watch but to savour slowly bit by bit.

One of the best dramas with fitting sound effects/ OST

I watched this show quite awhile back but decided to leave a review as I find myself still listening to the OST (and not sick of it). My favourite songs are “Whisperer” by Liang Jie, “I See You” by Qian Xi and “Crush On” by Lu Si Ying. In my opinion, the sound effects and music choices in this drama aced it - not that these were the nicest sounds/songs ever heard - but in that the choices were very apt and suited the flow and mood of the drama, without being cheesy; and I never got tired of the music played in the background. The sound effects were a whole new level; I’ve not come across C-dramas with such specific and fitting sounds to highlight the moments thus far; and though some might find they were a bit overused as the drama unfolds, I personally thought it was refreshing to hear them.

Like some other commenters/ reviewers, I didn’t really like the way the drama ended but I guess it’s because it’s a C-drama and they had to be cautious and sensitive about the switcheroos. The show’s switching bodies plot was nothing new and at times quite cliche. However, I must say I was pleasantly surprised by how the main leads, Liang Jie and Zhang Xincheng effectively brought the humour and drama out of it. Especially Zhang Xincheng, he totally nailed Liang Jie’s facial expressions and body gestures and I kept laughing out loud every single time. In my opinion Liang Jie has a knack for creating great chemistry with her MLs (Zhao Lushi is the other actress who is good at this) so both leads carried the show really well. I would recommend watching this drama for a good laugh.

An easy, hilarious and beautiful watch through and through

I was quite apprehensive of this show because I do not watch fantasy elements at all like time travel or body swapping or whatever. But I'm glad I saw this (mainly because of Steven Zhang) and this will probably go down as the ONLY body-swapping show I will ever have had the courage to watch but it was just so peaceful and good. No extra unnecessary drama, a sweet and hilarious story, absolutely stellar acting and chemistry and just a brilliant fun mood-uplifting vibe throughout.

The highlight of the show is the superb acting of all the actors, especially Steven Zhang. I've been a fan for such a long time and he totally did not disappoint. The way he enacted when he changed bodies was also superb. I'm more in love with this man. As for the show, this is such an easy, pleasant, cute and uplifting watch. They tackle certain themes nicely without making a super huge deal out of them, so, kudos for that.

I'd seen the comments here because of my averseness to the fantasy element and hence I was prepared for the ending and hence even that did not bother me much, tbh. I was laughing, crying, and swooning with our actors throughout the show. Yes, I literally cried towards the last few episodes and skipped some parts just because I didn't want to hold onto the sadness. What a ride this has been.

My only complaint remains that for the fantastic chemistry we saw throughout the show, the ending was such a letdown and like so mellow. I wanted it to be fun! Also, I'm super annoyed with the mother angle and the importance she gets but I think everyone finds their closure in their own way so if our character found his closure by some magic, who am I to complain?

Also, just FYI and TMI, my favourite character has to be Le Yi without a doubt. What a hilarious and thoughtful character. Loved him!

one of the best chinese romcoms dramas

i don't find myself skipping the scenes on the first few episodes and that was already a sign for me that this drama is going to be good and woohoo it definitely was!! no irrelevant side stories, everything being told with a purpose, side characters that contribute enough as a side character and the main focus was literally the main leads as it should be !! most c-dramas often get side tracked with past stories of the characters and stuff which gets really annoying and takes up a lot of time from the drama and that was one of my concerns but luckily they didn't include such irrelevance.

the only thing i found annoying was the sound effects (i could still hear it ohmygod) it was really annoying and loud and unnecessary to be played like 20 times per episode ㅠㅠ another thing was that it took them so damn long to figure out why their body was switching like c'mon !! not that hard to figure out actually yall. i also got bored when they switched bodies the second time cus like,, the thrill is just not there anymore . but other than that i was quite content w this drama.

kinda funny how often shengsheng took days off and not get in trouble for it like How girl omg let me work there too ! okay but overall though it was worth it to watch this drama as it is veryyy lighthearted and you can finish it in a blink of an eye. there are scenes that were genuinely funny and i rarely find myself laugh at jokes being made in dramas but this one had pure comedy . def entertaining. main couple is also super cute i adore them they r so lovable n character development on jiangyi is so evident ugh love that

I wish I met you sooner

I just want to say; ignore the complaints about the ending. Yes, it's a fictional story within the story itself. However it's a retelling of the author's love story - and it's legit the only final 20 minutes of the show. But why I say to ignore it is because the 'author' of the story has a simple message within her story - that she wished she met Jiang Yi sooner. I don't know why people were so taken aback by this when the show STARTS with her breaking up with the real Jiang Yi and then trying to write her story. Happy spoilers: The real couple end up together too, so, what's the fuss?

All in all, wonderful story. Wonderful acting. With a sweet message at the end. And guess what people? Even without that last 20 minutes, the story STILL would be fake. Because it's a show. So having something like this bothers me so little when it's based in something sweet - the story within the story is someone wishing they met the love of their life sooner. And re-watching it you can FEEL that intention. It's so sweet to me and takes nothing from the experience of watching it - because it's based on their real life romance so obviously similar things happened to them "irl."

Rant over. Wonderful and super sweet show. Once they start dating there is so little unnecessary tension between them. There's outside problems but they deal with together and it's so sweet and healthy. PLUS THE KISSES MY GOD. Ok now I'm actually done. Just watch it!!!!

Fun bodyswape romcom

I came from Go Ahead (love that show) because I really liked Steven Zhang's acting. It's totally unnecessary to have 26 episodes for this purely romance-focused romcom and the last 6 episodes were so draggy but Steven Zhang is VERY adorable and good-looking 🥺 VERY FUN USE OF THE BODYSWAP TROPE IMO. There was a pretty fun dynamic between the two leads and lots of comedic moments. I loved watching the male lead play as the female lead and vice versa -- absolutely hilarious. I still rewatch parts of this sometimes. What a fluffy show.

Another drama about a celebrity and a commoner. Not necessarily an anti-fan but a non-fan. Add to this a dash of the supernatural, body-swapping and you get a tropey drama. Stephen Zhang and Liang Jie were brilliant as the aloof idol Jiang Yi and the spritely entertainment reporter Yu Sheng. Their meticulous performance continues when they were purportedly inhabiting the other's body. What made me give this drama less than a full mark are a variety of factors. For one, the pacing is uneven, very slow in some parts, and quick to escalate on others. Secondly, the supporting characters had their own backstory and also, their own selfish agendas where I cannot feel for any of them, aside perhaps from Yu Sheng's parents. The second pairing is not a pairing at all, and it seems the writers tried just to grasp at straws to make the 2nd couple feasible. And finally, the most glaring error is the last 5 minutes of the drama, which threw the whole narrative into whack, and hence unforgivable in my eyes.

Not Bad for a Gender Body Switchroo

We had this on our watchlist since last year, the trailer didn't look that compelling so it was postponed for a bit but I'm glad we decided to give it a try. Don't like to watch shows where the character is a celebrity or its about the entertainment business, its not interesting. This show managed to make it work. Don't bother trying to apply any logic, rationale, or thinking to the series and why the body switch occurs.

The gist of it is an aloof male celebrity and an entertainment reporter do multiple body gender switchroos.

- Jokes, Jokes, and more Jokes. It pokes fun at itself, it makes fun of Asian drama cliches, and at celebrity idol culture and worship.
- Great chemistry between the leads and decent acting with the gender swap that happens repeatedly. The ML does overact sometimes during the swap. The development of their romance was good, a bit of a slow burn but a fair amount of hilarity in between. The part where the ML swapped with the FL and experiences his first period was pretty funny, of course he had to wear a white dress to top it all off.
- No long drawn out boring SML or SFL stories, the focus is mainly on the leads. It focuses on how they handle the gender body swap situations and their growing affection and attraction for each other.

Didn't really care for the backstory of the family dynamics of the ML, it felt like they were trying to force some trauma family story to add some complexity to his character and rationale for why he was moody and aloof.

I'd compare this series to kinda like going to an amusement park, its fun, its not part of normal life, and it takes your mind off all that studying you were supposed to do. I felt they were able to make it work between a male celebrity and a non celebrity average person because of the extraordinary circumstances that pushed them together.

One of the best realistic drama ever with the best kissing scenes

Honestly never seen a more realistic drama than this one everything was done perfectly. Being a celebrity really doesn't make things easy for one in this life, this drama also shows how celebrities live their lives, their fear, how they love and deal with their traumas as well. You get to see the fan culture. Notany will understand or like this drama but honestly the fact that it's so realistic should be one of the main reasons you should watch this drama. The actors played their parts seriously, be it when they are themselves or in each other's body. Liang Jie is really one versatile actress and her Co lead isn't far behind. It was a perfect drama with the perfect casts as well.
