"You did something wrong but you were right for doing it..."

Literally the best way I can describe this drama.
I also think this drama is super underrated and without spoiling it really tugs at you with so many emotions, realizations, and just any other relatable content.

Justice, power, money of course - but facing reality (death, relationships, the truth of someone you adore, friendships, and wanting to protect the dear ones to you).

Some parts were slow but overall loved watching it.

I did love the main leads - all the ladies had their unique quirks and personalities, and loved how they all came together.

Loved the romance between the main female and male leads - what came of it and honestly so different from other male leads? Not the typical aggressive, kdrama falling in love - it was so different on many levels (probably due to their story line but still!)

Honestly, would recommend! It was definitely an intriguing watch!!

Good Enough

Korean Drama " The One And Only " is a bittersweet drama with morally grey characters.

The story has a slice-of-life twist, with some dramatic moments and some sad stories for the side characters.

In addition, the story has an unconventional romance, but there are some sweet and romantic aspects to it. But, the highlight of the drama is the friendship between the girls that soften each other's edgy personalities.

Finally, the ending was okay, a bit open, but kind of suited the story.

As for the performances, everyone did a great job with their characters.

And the pace was just right for the story as well.

So, overall, eight out of ten.

Joy's best performance is in here

the BGM is good

and the song "Happy End" is definitely the highlight, it's the most beautiful song you could create in a healing drama.

the show is very forgettable, but exciting to watch.

Some main couples kissing scenes or bed scenes might be somewhat uncomfortable, cuz it's JTBC.

You will never see such discomfort in TVN or national TVs

ep 11-14 are the worst. classic JTBC will always suck mid way, and it will switch genre to melodrama like always.

ep15-16 are the best, highlight of the trio chemistry.

Joy's final scene is definitely the best and emotional.

I'm glad I watch it for Joy, she should win an award for this. Kim Ji Yul is also great.

=overall=

meaningful hospice kdrama

About family, friendship, love, live, and death.

Detachment and refusal to be reborn in the next life = nirvana. (I enjoy it as a Buddhist)

The ending shot is perfect. However, I feel this is a 1 way trip drama like most draggy JTBC dramas.

A sauna scrubber with brain cancer, an influencer with lung cancer and a middle aged housewife with another type of cancer that I cannot recall right now all walk into a bar…. er.. hospice… Let’s be honest, on a good day I wouldn’t have willingly watched a drama that I know would make me sad, umm but I haven’t been having good days. The best way to describe this drama would be to say that it was a slippery slope to sadness, but in the end the morals is what stood out the most.

This drama is a shit show when it comes to actual plot and development. I struggled to get through the last five episodes or so because well, I did not give two shits about this murder mystery. In actuality, I am quite pissed because it wasn’t what I was promised. How much cooler would the story of three serial killers be verses this whole whodunit nonsense that very clearly points to who did it. I have always had a hard time with dramas that show how much power and money influences the ability to have justice get its proper diligence especially when this is not what I went into it to see. All that aside, what this drama strived with is showing the dynamics of a friendship forged over a circumstance. The best part of this show was when it focused on the hospice and their life stories. I didn’t enjoy the writing in terms of plot, but I LOVE LOVE the truisms and dialogue in this drama surrounding life and death.

Our trio of women were a sight to behold. Ahn Eun Jin, the woman you are. The ACTRESS you are! Pyo In Sook was certainly my favorite character of the brunch with a character development that was lovely to watch. I immediately enjoyed her from the very first frame of her in the sauna down to the last one. She was the type of character that even when she was doing something foolish, you knew it was not because of her selfishness. On the opposite spectrum, we had Mi Do played by Red Velvet’s Joy, who was a lot harder to root for consistently. There were deep deep moments of annoyance and frustration, but at her core, you saw the broken girl who didn’t love herself and was afraid to be alone. To my gay queen, Se Yeon, I just wanna hold you. I felt for her almost all this show. I also enjoyed our male lead because he is a puppy and I really don’t care that he killed people. Sorry to you all.

Speaking of Woo Cheon, I LOVED THEIR LOVE STORY. I am sorry it really was so beautiful. This is what I want from a drama that has heavy romance and has the romance as the foundation for the shenanigans. I want to be rooting for these characters and their happiness. For the first time in a long time, I didn’t find the childhood love connection to be a bit much. I truly believed in this love story which is a testament to the actors chemistry because even though it wasn’t jumping off your screen and in your face chemistry, it was so sweet and held the reverence of a first love that I was in it. ALL THE WAY IN IT.

Overall, the good outweighs the bad with this story all things considered. There are a bunch of glaring plot holes, but if I view this drama as just a story about finding yourself, friendships and love while navigating terminal illness then it leaves me feeling better. Very low rewatch value on this one.

don’t waste ur time on this babes ..

from the sypnosis i lowkey thought the storyline would have a main focus on the 3 girls, however i was disappointed that the story kept jumping between things, making it extremely confusing. i was hooked from ep 1-2, however everything just went down from there .. male lead felt really shallow to me, he just seemed like he was there standing behind the cast with that singular :| face. the ‘crime murder plot’ was also a huge mess, just seemed like poor writing to me atp as there was alot of potential (crying emoji). i will have to say that alot of scenes took longer than it had to, sometimes there would be 20 seconds if silence and slow panning which to me felt rlly irrelevant.

"I am an Seong Mi Do, the Influencer!" What? "Influenza" !!!

It has been a long time since I truly enjoyed the pilot episode. I absolutely loved the first episode of The One and Only.

It is indeed not a washed up plot. Also it felt new, raw and broken at the same time. It does not give you introduction of its characters and pushes you right away in the middle of a story, where its characters are already at the end of their lives, even though it just beginning of their story.

I could not find a single filler scene in first episode, may be because it is the first episode, but I highly doubt it is going be any less than its first episode in quality. The tone, the setting and and the pain of its characters is a reflection of what is heading towards the rest of the story.

I am a fan of AEJ, I have liked her since I first saw her. even though she in the industry for over 10 years, but not until 2018 she truly entered television medium. She is a theater actress and on that a musical one, so you can guess her range of emotions and ability to showcase a huge spectrum of roles and characters - she is not only a versatile actress but possesses an ability to channel her emotions through her characters to a great length to give them life. She did not disappoint here as well. A job well done, not less, no more, hits you hard sometime. What I had expected, she delivered and I am very very much satisfied. I have no doubt in Kim Kyung Nam that he wouldn't do justice to his character. After watching the episodes, I was right, he is too on a path to glory of his capability of doing something different. I hope this series brings him a good fortune.

I am so loving the other characters, and can't wait how ravel stories will be unraveled and how people of Ahumiti will come to heal each other before exiting this life. I never thought Pyo In Sook first day would be this eventful, and she would have soulmates so early on. But I guess they don't have time to know each other to gel well, jumping right into it is the only solution and I like that, sometimes introduction and pace is not important.

Her grandmother scenes are heartbreaking, why always it is like that when parents are shitty, it is grandma that has to take responsibility for their child crimes. This show is going to show a lot of blood boiling stories, but at the same will show how the people at the center of those stories living their last.

The trio and the one, is going to come together to heal each other and in the middle of dying a desire of living will take place. I just hope they stick to the story, and what shouldn't happen, must not happen. Otherwise the story will lose its meaning.

I fell in love with this series, I am sure you will too. Give it a chance, it is going to be roller coaster ride of tears and happiness, of course marinated with death.

A découvrir.
