Oh! I wasted 16 hours of my life

Like something you might've heard before- the talented actresses and actors could not make up for the horrible writing of this drama. I'll admit it had me in the first quarter of the drama before going downhill. Many of the storylines were nice! And then there were more and more storylines just piling up! And then they ALL turned to shit!
Some n̶i̶c̶e̶ ? things they had going:

- The relationships between Jooin's mother, Jooin, Bisoo's mother, and bisoo. The interactions between them all were always very cute. Any scene with Haejin or Junghwa was nice to watch.
But Bisoo's mother, Haejin, was sick and eventually died with little grieving from any of the characters considering how intertwined they all were. We also see Junghwa and the other old man less and less in general.

-A love triangle. This triangle was very useless. Annoying to watch. First, we know Yujin likes Jooin, but why is that his only plot point. His whole character is about being in love with Jooin and butting in. I could get over the sweet, best friend second lead trope if we weren't randomly thrown by Jooins's 'i like both of you' in the middle of the series. Other than letting Yujin make advances on her, it is never obvious that Jooin ever liked Yujin. And then its obvious she's already made up her mind within an episode and a half. For some reason though, Yujin still acts like it is a competition until the end- which is annoying.

-Literally the name of the drama. Bisoo is suddenly Jooin's tenant. They do this little thing of having Bisoo call her 'master' which then dissolves into nothing because Jooin's resolve is weak. I'm not even going to go over the fact that Bisoo just plainly disrespects Jooin in her own house multiple times with basically no consequences. You'd also think that there would be more moments about what happens when a girl who has lived mostly by herself begins living with practically a stranger. Like what was even the point of the cohabitation aspect if it wasn't explored? Why was it even in the title?

-Jooin being a 'top star actress'. Jooin wins many awards, is on billboards and does many dramas and ad shoots. She has a crazy stalker fan that is only used in a few episodes, being soon forgotten (which is strange considering the dark scenes we saw with/because of her). She makes sure to not obviously be with Bisoo while in their neighborhood. Despite all of this- she isn't crowded with people while outside and never has actual trouble with people. Seems inconsistent.

-The public/fake Yujin relationship and then Bisoo relationship. First Jooin is in a fake relationship with Yujin. Then there are rumors about her cheating on him with Bisoo. Then Yujin refutes rumors. Then Jooin goes out publicly with Bisoo. Am I missing something? I don't recall Yujin or Jooin making breakup announcements so how come Jooin is suddenly able to publicly date Bisoo (we see them in a building holding hands while a crowd is in front of them). Nobody was going to say anything about how she either was 'cheating' on her boyfriend or about how she went from one friend to the next?

-Bisoo disappearing. Probably the silliest and dumbest plot ever. So he gets hit by a truck, is supposed to die, but is brought back with a limited amount of time because his dad wanted him to express his love? And then Jooin is talking about Bisoo. And then the drama abruptly ends. I just found the fantasy element very ridiculous and out of place for a romance like this.

-Also the birth secrets. We love some half-fleshed out birth secret storyline!
-Also the short-lived open doors trauma!

Lets not even go over ALL the plot-holes, events that should've had a bigger impact and the plain forgetting of plot points.
The cute moments are there, yes! The music is nice! Sometimes I question the stylist yea!
Not the worst but overall, WOULDN'T recommend. There are many nice love triangle, sick parent, second-chance, actress and cohabitation dramas! Watch one of those :)

Oh my god!!!!

yes just now after finishing the streaming of final episodes unconsciously I let out a sigh "oh my god this charade has ended" this review contain spoilers and it's brief review so bear with me and it's my personal opinion and I'm not against any individual or organization

In late December I heard a news that Nana & LMK are doing a romcom with MBC producing the show and they teamed up with writer Jo Jin Kook(who translated Fated to Love You ) it I was so excited as their last drama's of both actors did well and during production the first look and story line did raised a buzz around it even MBC promoted it as their trademark romcom in January I heard a new that they suspended the drama director Hyun Sol Ip due to conflicts during production and MBC replaced the her with a new ass.director Oh Da Young I some how jinxed it as it's bad to remove cast/directors in the middle of production but I put some hope on-the experienced Main-leads and finally it aired in march and it was disaster yep the biggest one even wonder how come the Main leads signed this collaboration

Lets us get in to the story line "A Jerk male lead some how ends cohabitating with lovely Female lead and their romantic journey" I think people who watching east asian dramas from past few years may have watched tonnes of dramas based on this storyline but wait their is more a fantasy element that Male lead has 49days to live hmm damn what a slinger it hurts right usually you will feel pity if some character has to die / disappear in drama but there is not a single moment you feel pity for him instead you will be disappointed and frustrated hmm ok first few episodes writer forced male lead to cohabitate with female-lead in pretense of script writing and this main lead I mean he is stereotype character who has A-Z kinds of phobias but some how he shows interest in Female lead ok lets look in to her character "A lovely star actress with pitiful dementia diseased mother" so first 4episodes they forced to create some tension between them and writer some how thought female lead is so pitiful and it's not balancing so he added a cancer prone mother character to male lead hmm here comes more drama a Second male lead who is love interest for FL now a Love triangle as female lead is interested in both I even wondered if they are going with polygamy but they some how dragged it to 6-9episodes now again writer remembered that drama has a fantasy tag so to satisfy it he added "49days to die" concept so this jerky male lead who's gonna die breaks-up with female lead in a hard way with some unnecessary drama & in-between male lead mother dies and on other hand that frustrating SML takes every chance to get FL while lot of issues to settle we are in the finale arc now the writer has to end it so he choose to-satisfy both the cliche romcom lovers and fantasy realistic ending lovers in this final arc so he somehow miraculously made Female lead and Male lead to forget every problems they have around ep15 and they do a intense hot make over scene and now set for finale I some how bared all this painful drama for Nan & LMK and dared to finish it ep16 first 43minutes writer gave a happy end to cliche romcom lovers and then somehow had a conscience strike so he forced Ml to disappear to thin air and tried to give a poetic ending with spring nonsense that Fl waiting for her next spring love and she was happy that Ml loved her enough and she can move on happily hmm in last 15 minutes hmm after watching this u will definitely utter "Oh my god" what this nonsensical ending

Didn't expect much was even more disappointed

It's hard to put into words how I feel about this drama but here we go.

When I first saw the trailer before release, I already had a gut instinct it wouldn't be drama of the year. Fast forward to a year later I decided to give it a try since I ran out of dramas to watch. Boy was this an even bigger disappointment than I thought. I thought I wouldn't like this drama because it would be too boring but to my surprise it was worse.

This storyline got progressively worse and hard to follow a bit before the second half. I thought it would be a simple cohabitation rom-com but to my horror the writers took it further. Somehow they managed to squeeze in a Altheimer's illness, Cancer illness and some weird "Vanishing syndrome". At some point this rom-com drama turned into a supernatural drama and I hated it. I even laughed when Nana gave an Oscar worthy performance at the end when she cried after realizing he vanished for good.

Then there was the whole love triangle which was more of a throuple where the FL admitted to liking both the ML and SML. It's was ridiculous and if it wasn't for me wanting to see what happened to the ML at the end I would have stopped watching right there.

While watching episode 3 or 4 I even said to myself "omg why is this show not talked about it's so good". It didn't take long for me to eat my words. The only reason I'm not giving it a lower rating is because the first few episodes were really good plus the actors all did an AMAZING job considering what they were given.

The plot could've been much better

I actually started this drama after finishing 'The beauty inside" , I came cause I was drawn by Lee Min-ki,
It started off pretty good , but as I kept watching I kind of got fed up with some meaningless scenes. Especially the ones with the side characters love etc. I just could not care less about them and I ended up skipping those part after a few scenes of them.

Main actors were fine , but there is a serious problem with the plot / character development.
I don't understand how he went from this self absorb character , into a caring kind guy pretty quickly and for some reason nearing his death he decided to go off the rail eg the sudden break up , constantly being mean to the girl in hopes she forgets about him but for some reason he still stuck around the house to write etc.

Also is it just me or the whole man in white got discarded pretty fast? It's only when he started going invisible did he only realized 'yes , there's that issue where my days are numbered"

The rival thing was weird too. As if the writers does not knows what to do at all. FL clearly loves ML , but for some reason it's like "well , we need a rival thing to make things interesting? So I'm going to act indecisive and drag this on an episode or two so you can see the guys fight over me" ? huh? lol

The near end and ending throws me off too. Eg when he finally came clear to her , he only has like a week left , and yet they went about their daily lives as if there is no need to be any precious last moment time to be spent together. They even have the rival slept over again LOL.

The rip scene where he also suddenly insert the joke that the 49 days is actually 49 years cause he misheard due to surroundings interruptions. I mean .. idk who thought it was a good idea to throw in that joke in a serious final moment like that. I could really go on and on with the endless plot holes but I'm going to stop now.

Honestly I watched it till the end cause I'm a fan of LMK from his other drama , still am , he seems passionate with his acting but I pray in his future series , he will get a much better writer. I felt really sad that they just wasted his talent like that .

Very artificial commercial drama

(Completed) -painfully...
Honestly? the actors were great but the plot felt a little too artificial for me. I mean there was too much unnecessary stuff going on, and the fantasy element was like a pointless added gimmick here. The actress was really beautiful, loved her acting, although I disliked her artificial laugh. Many people felt the chemistry was great but to me it was half-half. Good in the beginning , forced by the end. Ultimately the plot was so lost, the chemistry didn’t matter to me anymore. It felt like they tried too hard to make this drama successful so ended up up bringing 2 or 3 previously successful plots together to make one story, sigh'...left me exhausted really. Either be cliched and bring good actors instead, or be original, wouldn't that be better overall?

Massive Disappointment

I had started this show despite its stereotypical nature to watch actors I had liked in their previous outings as they starred in a breezy rom-com when all the other ongoing shows I was watching were all dealing with darker and sadder topics.

Cut to the opening week where our predictably grumpy writer male lead gets hit by a truck of doom sees an angel of sorts, forgets about it and proceeds to move in with our seemingly plucky actress female lead. All goes well, the chemistry is cute, and voila! unnecessary second lead for a gratuitous love triangle. m
Knowing about the love triangle from the posters and the promos did not discount the fact that it was an unneeded addition of an overused cliche. Still, the light comedy and the cutesy atmosphere made up for the sad backstories of both leads in the parents' department and the needless complication in the loveline.

I had put up with superfluous plot twists and storylines till the halfway point solely because the leads were adorable in moments sprinkled throughout the episodes. But cut to week 5, the male lead hides his family problems and is totally aloof in ep9 and in ep 10 the aforementioned angel returns and tells our guy he will start disappearing in front of the love of his life ( we needed more moments between the leads for them to be the loves of their lives ughh) and completely vanish in 49 days. What a start to the second half of the show... not.

When it was time to hit play on ep11, I just couldn't do it. I didn't want to sit through an episode while pressing the skip button and not really liking anything. I wanted cohabitation shenanigans and syrupy romcom stuff, I expected a cliche breakup or whatever but this show gave us barely half an episode of Bi Soo and Joo In as an official couple before the path to their separation started. How does it even make sense?! At least let them be together for a while, give us some of the promised fun but nope.

They broke up towards the end of ep12 (shocker!) as suggested by a Twitter hashtag search which cemented my decision to drop it. I'd rather watch thrillers all days of the week than tear my hair out for a show that was supposed to be a source of low effort enjoyment.

This is an utter waste of time and resources.

A poorly written drama, good casting but failed acting. This is an utter waste of time and resources.
I think the drama is supposed to be a sad emotional one mixed with humor but failed miserably. The story doesn't have any depth or meaning and is shallow.
In short, this drama is about a rich, all-around perfect, and talented individual who suddenly finds that he is dying and the only thing that he couldn't do in his utterly perfect life is to find love.
The characters in this drama are so weak to a point it's utterly pathetic.
First of all the mother who finds out that she is dying, throws herself a pity party, gives up on life. Looking at this whole issue itself is so depressing. Not only the mother, but almost all the characters in the story are also a miserable bunch.
Then there is our male lead, arrogant and obnoxious, who suddenly finds out that he has 49 days to live. This itself put the whole storyline in a disarray. The drama that started off as ordinary suddenly switched to the supernatural. It's like the writer suddenly work up in the middle of the night and decided to sprinkle some supernatural in the storyline. And in the end he just "poof" disappears into thin air!! Excuse me writer couldn't you consider giving your character a proper burial??!! You don't need a supernatural to kill off a perfectly normal character. There are a hundred ways to kill a character but the writer opted for a supernatural death that makes zero sense, mixed with a biological father character turned angel. There is no impact in however the writer tries to spin off the death of the male lead.
The female character on the other hand looks like a prop to keep the story going. She provided no impact on the story either.
And top of all that there are some plot holes and some characters just suddenly disappeared into thin air, like the stepfather. In short, nothing makes sense.

Not the cliche rom-com

Getting through the first few episodes of this drama wasnt hard or wasn't boring at all, it instead leaded me to wanting to complete this asap and get to rate it and see it for myself if this is just as how it is describe in every reviews I've seen.. I personally has seen so many rom-coms and of course there were best to so-so's.... if this one drama were to be aligned from best to so-so than this piece would easily go to the mid since this drama suprisingly made me shed tears so romantically and I see no particular scene of it where it'd give the ick or cringe.. which added so much points to me, the characters expressed here was amazing, superb and well done, the chemistry too was beyond my imagination, it was to the point where I could see them dating irl. They were so natural and I see no awkwardness between them from the start up to the ending. Not only the mains but the side characters too was *applause* their friendship and how all of the characters was so supportive of one another... not to mention the love Joo In has for Han Bi Soo, this was one of the reason why I was able to shed so much romantically......

However, the plot played and conveyed in this drama may confuse a lot of people as it did confuse me especially close to the ending......

Overall, seeing the ratings given below this drama surprises me beyond.. and it somehow saddens me as this to me deserves a lot of more love and appreciation since the actors and actresses did so amazing with conveying every scene and not just the scenes but the emotions 100%

Highlighting the importance of Loved One in One's Life !!

The drama conveys the importance of love and loved ones but in an overall sad tone. While it is not a cup of everyone's tea, still having such negative reviews truly eludes me. Since it is a fantasy drama, therefore the accident and extension of ML's living days and finally his disappearance are perfectly justified to me. The focus of the drama is to show the viewers to hold on to the positive aspects of life, to hold on to the good memories of our loved ones who have left us, and to remember them not for the hurt they inflicted but for the good memories that they left us.

The FL has to deal with the loss of her father and a mentally ill mother while The ML has shut his heart due to stuff happening in his childhood and a seriously ill mother. The ML and FL both had a lot of bad stuff happen to them which is why the drama could be considered a tragedy. Their acting was very good but the story and acting of the supporting cast left much to be desired as it lacked solid writing, still, the focus on the main lead was absolutely a good point for me.

The ML was already on borrowed time and thought that FL would be sad after he will disappear therefore he broke up with her and tried to set her up with her childhood friend and was even willing to become an evil person in her eyes so that she would hate him but the FL did not want to leave ML and considered even a little time spent with a loved one better than not spending at all, thus clearing the misunderstanding between them.

Overall the making shine of the drama for me is the FL character. She is depicted as a headstrong, hardworking, brave, and very caring person, and her strong love and struggles in the drama were truly a delight to watch.

wasted potential

what a shame this had so much potential to be amazing, the actors seemed to have great chemistry together it’s a shame they were stuck with such a terrible script. originally I thought the plot was good but they ruined it by adding unnecessary issues.

Anyway I enjoyed Lee Min Ki’s performance it’s was refreshing to see him play a character who’s playful and cute, I’ve only ever seen him play stern, emotionless characters before this. As for Nana she was amazing as ever, she’s the reason I watched this in the first place, ever since I watched her in “into the ring” I fell in awe for her. Since then it’s been my mission to support and watch all her movies/shows.

Guys! I just wasted one whole night!

Come on! Nana and min-ki did soo good that I reconsidered dropping it, but this is the shittiest shitty script, and plot I ever saw. Sorry, I might sound harsh but I really wanna thank Jo Jin Kuk for destroying my time. Though it's totally my fault to waste my time, to begin with, I really hoped it ended otherwise. The fantasy and appearance of the man in the white dress, that is our han bi-soo's father really ruined it.
I would've loved it if the drama ended with the truck accident!
It's my first review but not the 1st drama. Well, I've watched over 150 dramas but this is my 1st time reviewing because I suck at that plus I'm really busy with studies!
I don't wanna relate but to be honest, my mister was so freaking good that I had a really hard time watching drama after that because I simply couldn't enjoy the script . Anyways, kill it was good despite the ending but for this one, I am sorry it felt like a straight-out waste of my time.
But I would suggest my fellow k-drama watchers to watch it, the sole rating I am giving it is for acting. Nana and Lee min-ki tried their best!
Anyways, I was so disappointed that it made me leave a review!

Shameless

This is a classic example of what I like to call a waste of carbon emission. It's impressive how a drama can fail on every metric there is and still get to finish its full run. It's fundamentally dysfunctional even if we were to disregard the epilogue. Yikes! On another note, Nana needs to figure out how to turn on her facial muscles appropriately with the scene.
