NEED SEASON 3 RIGHT NOW

what an amazing experience .
I waited so much for this season to come out and I was so afraid because of the high expectations I had , but I’m speechless .
IT WAS SO GOOD . from the first episode to the last I was not breathing properly it was so intense in the best way . we got a lot of new characters , I was very questionable and wasn’t sure about them at the start but then at the end founded myself screaming and shaking my ass off scared that something will happen to them .

if there something they’ve done wrong this season was killing ji su which was one of the best characters they’ve got . and wasted such as good actress as park gyu young . but it wasn’t a surprise because we saw it coming since the first episode .

anddd the lack of cha hyun soo scenes which doesn’t make sense because he’s literally THE MAIN character but because of that I got to attached to the new characters more so I’m not complaining that much .
song kang , such a great performance as always .
cha hyun soo is a unique and beautiful character and song kang plays him so beautifully , I just love his character and how strong he is , I hope to see him more and a lot more than this season as he needs to . and I wasn’t expecting to see song kang’s butt but I’m not complaining at all??? .

also go mi so this season was amazing , loved loved lovedddd lee eun yoo , even better than season one .
such a badass and powerful girl . very strong and tries not to show her weakness but deep inside she misses her big brother so much I just can’t wait for them to reunite in season 3 .

now for the new characters that I loved
park Chan young ughhhhhhh my man my man my man . since his first appearance omfg that fine ass man . he’s also such a good guy ??? I loved him dearly please let him live as much as possible .
I also shipped him so much with eun yoo I saw the sparks in his eyes pls??

anddd Kim young hoo another new fine ass man joined in and ugh I was on my knees fr . plssssssssssssssss let’s not kill him (: never .
and it might be just me been delusional but the sparks between him and Kim seung wan ????? i was on the floor I wanted them to kiss so badly ??

also my man yoo oh sung I didn’t know I was going to see you here!!!!!??? his character was kinda confusing but until the end he made me so interested in him I want to see what’s gonna happen in the next season.

and the entire yi kyung’s pregnancy and her daughter storyline was SO GOOD . Her daughter is very interesting character , and I lovedddd that hyun soo raised her ?

andddd my Roman Empire every little scene of cha hyun soo and eun yoo ?????? that huggggggg I was screaming

and for the ending lee do hyun’s butt on my screen? I was blessed .. literally was blushing kicking my feet’s in the air . IM SO SO SO HAPPY MY MAN IS ALIVE STFU . and that smile at the end?????? I’m sold pls pls pls give me season 3 I need him so bad

anyways AN AMAZING SEASON LITERALLY MASTERPIECE FOR ME . I’ll never shut up about this drama , I’m so so so satisfied with this second season , I know it’s kinda slow and confusing at the first episode but please giveeee this a fair chance the lasts episodes are so gooddddd and the new characters are so interesting .

can say a bit boring ?

i don't know if you noticed that the theme of season 2 was very very much copied from alice in the boardland ,
eun yoo was looking just like the main lead acctress of alice in the board land . The storyline was also very cheap or we can say complicated , i mean why more character and the death of original cast without any reason .. ..............................................................................................................................i don't know if people notice but the theme of season 2 was very very much copied from alice in the boardland ,

Same title, different show

Having loved the season 1, season 2 was a huge let down(atleast for me).
Starting off with the irrelevant side characters & their storylines, of which I personally was bored of ,adding fuel to the fire was the given screentime to them which really pissed me off. Even with Hyun soo, idk why they made him disappear for the entire 3 episodes for goodness sake. I started to wonder who exactly was the main character ( Hyun soo or that Yi kyeong's child ). Bluntly speaking the show lacked the main storyline to focus on, it was just bunch of random side plots which will start to make sense in season 3( that's what they say).

For me , I only liked the scenes of original characters from S1 and chan young ngl and spare me with that soldiers bs we could've done it with few less of 'em.

Well that was that from me , and hope the review resonated with yours and if not that's even better.
Till then bbye..

Sweet Home 2 is great, but…

The long-awaited second part is finally here. After three years, the sequel has arrived and we finally find out how the story continues and where our beloved characters from the first season are.

To begin with, I rewatched the first season, honestly, it's been a long time since I watched the series and I'm glad I rewatched it. Watching my favorite scenes again, and also the sad ones, only brought back my desire for more and I was excited and full of expectations to finally watch the second season.

But… yes, let’s start with but…

Where do I start, ahh.

The first three episodes started off great. I was intrigued by the new conflicts and the CGI looked surprisingly better. Of course, in the sequels, you always have to adapt to the actions and decisions of the characters, even if those decisions lead them to good and bad things. We also meet a bunch of new characters who have joined the fight. Honestly, you'll either love them or hate them. There is no in between.

Finally comes the fourth episode, where the story begins to branch out. Oh boy! The scenes flew back and forth, at some parts I was confused and yelled to my TV screen “why, whyy, what’s the reason” but I followed closely anyway to stay in the loop. The new characters we met got more screen time than our original characters, which made me a little sad. I know, I know - now that's their story too, but still!

It’s a roller coaster full of everything and please be awake and in a good mood when you watch this.

Let me just say - Song Kang, you were amazing. I missed you.

Also, only 8 episodes? I finished the series so quickly, I don’t even know if I saw anything worth remembering.

Sweet Home 2 brought more fights, more characters and more monsters and even more plot twists that I expect to see untangled in Sweet Home 3.

And honestly, overall I would rate it a strong 5.5/10, but that’s on everthing else other than what I’m suggested to rate.

See you in the summer of 2024.

Super dissapointing

I was really looking forward to S2. I saw some people complaining about S1, but I enjoyed it, so I had high hopes for S2. One of my biggest problems with S2 is how difficult it is to understand what is going on. They decided to do a time skip, and one of the characters was really hated, but as a viewer I was left confused. Why were they treating her that way? The viewers have to wait way too long to get an answer to this. I don't personally see how keeping that a secret for so long helped the story develop lol. This isn't the only time they use flashbacks in order to answer some questions. I think they relied on flashbacks way too much. Also once we know the MH-1 twist...felt like they put that twist in there last minute based on what happened in S1.

For how long the fans had to wait, you would think it would've been written better. Also, there was way too much emphasis on the military. Too many new characters that I did not care for. The new monsters also didn't make sense considering what we know about how monsters are created. It was just unfortunate.

No beginning and no end

Reading Webtoon is one of my favourite hobbies and the "Sweet Home" webtoon is still one of my favourite.
The first season of the series managed to caption the suspension and drama of the webtoon but this second season is just a big complicated mess. So much happens and still nothing happens.
It all felt very disoriented with every character keeping their secrets from others and also from the viewers. With so many characters i couldn't connect with anyone because the story never went anywhere meaningful. Yes there is horror and gore and action and many monsters, but it didn't help much to make the series more watchable and enjoyable. I had to force my self to watch which is a shame. What bothered me the most is slopy dialogue and inconsistent story progression. Looks like the director wants us to stop caring for humans and start rooting for the monsters.

Did we watch the same thing?

I was reading other reviews after having finished this and am honestly wondering if I even watched the same thing as many of the other reviewers. I watched season one of Sweet Home a couple months ago so this show was newer to me than for those that watched it 3 years ago when it first came out, still I was excited when I saw a second season coming since the first left on a cliff hanger.

The first season was not shy about killing people off and I was actually frustrated that almost all my favorite characters had died while the ones I did not like; the selfish and useless ones, were the ones that survived. All the trailers for this season had Hyun Soo as the focus so I expected to find him as the main focus. But he was not, nor were any of the other survivors from season one. The show honestly did not have a main focus at all, it started so many subplots and answered not one by its conclusion making this this season only a prequel for the next season which is utterly frustrating. Kdramas are rarely given second seasons let alone third seasons mostly because they are able to complete full stories in the typical 16 episodes. SO having a second season that did absolutely nothing for the show feels odd.

The acting here was fine and the actors did great with the script they were given but from episodes 4-8 I found myself fast forwarding through more than half the episodes out of boredom. They decided to focus on new characters which would have been fine had they picked a couple but they jumped and skipped to what felt like irrelevant characters that you never had any time to build any attachment for so their scenes were just boring. The only two characters that seemed to stand out from the new bunch were Chan Young and Chief Ji, as well as the psycho doctor. But again, there was the beginning of a subplot with no follow through or conclusion so all you are left with is confusion and questions. I suppose that is what they want so you will pick up the next season but it does not make for a good show.

My advice would be to wait and watch this with season 3 when it comes out and you might find this more appealing but if you watch it now you'll be frustrated and annoyed. Characters you were attached to from last season are either sidelined or killed in ridiculous ways, the monsters go from being interesting and unique to carbon copies of each other that look like blobs of cement, and there is a one year time jump and nothing is explained about that year. Just wait to watch this when they decide to give you an actual story and not this weird in between.

Tanked.

I just wanna start off with this is my personal opinion, so take your fights elsewhere.

I feel like this season had a whole different writer or something cuz it tanked so bad. Not even sure why or how anyone is listed as a main character when there were no mains. As much as I wish there was, it might have made this shit show bearable.

Episode 1 made sense and then it's like they forgot what happened in season one so they were like "oh but I remember Hellbound, let's just make it like that!" Or something. And not gonna lie, with making us wait that long, we really needed episode 1 to be a recap. Least I did. For the longest time I thought I was going insane because I couldn't remember most of the cast..... Little did I know, I wasn't meant to because THEY WERE NEW CHARACTERS!!! How are you gonna jus drop new characters (a fk ton of them) and expect people to know them?
While I felt bad for some characters, I had no connection to any of them. I felt more sympathy towards the monsters than anything else.

The back and forth back and forth was horrific and gave me a headache. And that ending felt like a cop-out. If I'm honest, I'd rate this a 3 and call it a day. The only reason I kept going and didn't drop it was hoping more of the old cast would pop up *cough*SongKang*cough*. We were robbed. Lol

A totally different feel from the original sweet home

I loved sweet home 1 even though the effects could be improved. Sweet home 1 had more original monsters that can describe the greed of each human. Now, the 'monsters ' look more like robots, zombies and what the aliens in an avengers movie would look like. This series was more psychological and not as suspensful and fast as season 1.
This season doesnt seem to really continue from the first except for the girl in season 1 looking for her bro, the firefighter kickass girl from season 1 and the 2 male leads from the first season that had hardly any roles in this season.

If you like a plot that expands and progresses and escalates, S02 is for you...

...but if you're watching this because you just wanted to see the main actor on screen 98% of the time being a boss, or just because you want to fangirl/boy over the attractive actors you liked in S01, you should tap out.
As someone who has no particular affinity to anyone in this show (except for Lee Si young because the actress is amazing and so is her character), as I usually do, I wanna' cover the good, bad and ugly of this season's offering;

THE GOOD:
- High action and developing horror and drama right out the gate, and it stayed that way for at least 80% of the season, no holds barred, humanity at their best and worse, chaos and entropy and monsters abound. S01 covered the basics, which, great, it let us get attached to the respective characters as one must in order to continue watching something, but would I want to watch a whole other season of the same characters doing the same shit? No thank you. S02 brought the broader scale of shit hitting the fan and escalating, we saw the reality of a dystopian world crawling with monsters really impact everyone. The fact that so many people are complaining about S02 baffles me. To viewers griping about deaths of MC's; come on! People would DIE, whether they are popular, good, bad, kids, attractive or ugly. So many shows from other countries based in violent, supernatural horror worlds, cling to their full set of MC's (*coughs* The Walking Dead) to the point where it's eye rolling. I don't want ALL the main characters to survive and be besties, that's BS, because it wouldn't happen that way. Sweet Home was merciless on this front, I loved it (PS: I would have been super mad if Yi Kyung died tbh but I would've gotten over it and still watched S03)
- The story unfolded on a bigger scale, which gripped my interest immediately. They did a good job of showing the peak of escalation and loss the beginning and then the time skip was just long enough to show the bare minimum of what was salvageable, and how unstable it all was.
- They introduced many new characters living in the stadium, most of which I assume will come in handy in S03 for deaths and monsterization. Useful trick to stop killing off your entire main cast in your final seasons. They also set up old characters and some new characters to really shake things up in S03 with gruesome comebacks and they highlighted them well too.
- The acting is ON POINT for everyone. Seriously, everyone brought their A game.
- Lots of foreshadowing, probably the groundwork for S03 plot twists.
- The clever broadness of monster capabilities being based on their desires and hates also really leaves a lot to be explored.
- Hyun Su going dark under his monster because of pain is the PERFECT precursor to when he breaks out of that lapse. I am keen to see him take back control and throw down.

THE BAD:
- The thirstiness of the female characters in Asian shows. I don't think this is a Sweet Home problem, I'm not sure if it's a culture thing, but characters like the chief's daughter and that loopy chick with the old man, that borderline stalker sexual harassment vibe they give off is ick, I could really do without that. What's wrong with them just being flirtatious instead of obsessed with the singlemindedness of a small brained creature in need of love and marriage? Hard no.
- I think the writers are trying to make Eun Yoo likeable, which, PFFFFFT ????? no. just no. They already made her the most dislikeable wench possible in S01, uh, what do they think changed? Nothing, she could have died in S01 and I would have forgotten her, like I forgot her brother.
- The monster CGI is...passable-ish. But I wasn't expecting it to blow my mind so it's whatever.
- The survivors looked pretty healthy despite living underground and eating minimal rations and barely going out (if at all for some of them). So that was a ball dropped, but it was small ball.

The UGLY:
- If S03 involves any romance, it's gonna be a gross joke. There is no reason for it and zero sexual chemistry with literally anyone in the show so far. Even Uen Yoo and the nice soldier guy don't bring those vibes enough for it to come to fruition. So, that would be ugly. I hope they skip right over that shit idea. I want nothing less than to see any of these characters kiss or touch each other, ever. Not only because it's unnecessary story wise, but also because everything is unhygienic and filthy and it would be high key disgusting to see any physical sexual contact of even the barest kind when I could barely stop thinking of how badly everyone must stink in every way.

THE HIGHLIGHTS
None in particular, the show had too many moving parts for any big, standalone moments, but I'd say the acting was for sure a really great thing for this season.

Overall, I enjoyed it just as much as S01, I have no complaints and I am keen for S03.

DIFFERENT BUT GOOD NONETHELESS

There was an evident difference in the latest season, from the cinematography, music, cgi/vfx and overall direction- and in my opinion thats what made season one so original and just so fun to watch. From the first episode of season 2, it just felt like watching a whole other drama - the charm of the first season wasn't entirely there. S1 had amazing cinematography and OST that added the hype and uniqueness to the project. The monsters were actual PEOPLE in suits and makeup and then altered with vfx whilst S2 was mainly cgi. Not to be dramatic but it felt like the art was gone lol. Season 2 just reminded me of a typical
military action thriller...

The second instalment seemed to go toward a different narrative as we're are no longer in the residential building, we get to meet new characters, some interesting and some... not so much. The crazy doctor and the little girl were the most compelling to the storyline and hopefully we will see more of them in the next season. We see a lot of military involvement and though they add a great perspective to this pandemic, it just got boring having them on my screen most of the time. There were also too many throwaway characters which i personally didn't care for, and instead wished they gave some more screen time to Hyun su (you know, the main character??) It would've been interesting to see his connection with the little girl and his overall struggle to survive in the world as monster who had very human emotions.

The the last few episode is where it seemed to pick up, i had no idea what was going on.. there's people that made into monsters is that how this pandemic started? What was the crazy doctors role in this?? There were a lot of unanswered questions which made me very excited for the S3

The original cast done amazing reprising their role and i cant wait to see more of them (as MAIN character hopefully)

ALSO the amount of bare booty's i've seen in episode 2.... i was flabbergasted.
