Although it loses vitality rapidly towards the end, the relationship between the characters surrounding the main character in the early part and the development of the story on an episode-by-episode basis are attractive. The main character's autism also loses specificity and feels selective at times compared to the beginning, but there is no doubt that this drama is much better made than other dramas, and the voice that wants to speak is clear. I was captivated by this drama from the moment the whale props appeared in Part 1, and Woo Young-woo, she is really lovely.

An Extraordinary kdrama

I saw a bunch of hype and complaints from various people on tik tok when this series was still coming out. Eventually I had to check it out for myself and I am so glad I did. This is not a drama I'd want to miss out on because the acting, story, and visuals were amazing!

I truly enjoyed Woo Young Woo's eureka moments every episode! It felt so unique and the imagery/ animations that would appear were wonderful as well! For instance the opening scene on the train/subway(?) with the whale swimming by and it's reoccurrence in the final episode were beautiful and fitting.

I really enjoyed the characters and story telling as well. The different angles to a case and the flow of it was fun to get immersed in. Similar to shows with mysteries, I found myself trying to solve/ think of other opportunities as well. Then when some cases didn't go the way I thought they would, I'd get emotional too. The topics they brought up were important as well like suicide/discrimination, the study culture in Korea, sexism in the work place, etc. Additionally having an autistic character was interesting and informative as well.

I remember people getting upset at the romance plot coming up, but I think they handled it well and showed some challenges. Like it's not all sunshine and roses. Besides that, I also think viewers need to consider what people like seeing. With fictional shows we (or at least I'd like to think) tend to want to see people happy and living life. Sure that's another plot, but if I wanted to see someone sad and alone or being alone and a "girl boss/don't need no man/partner" type of thing I wouldn't be watching kdramas/TV shows. I'm here for the nice feels and vibes and seeing people find love and happiness.

Anyway, besides all that I really enjoyed the cast and the characters themselves. I'm so thankful there will be a second season because I miss them already. Plus there is more character stuff I'd like to see, like from attorney Min-woo, we only got a small glimpse into his family and life. It's the same with Su-yeon, I'd just love to see more!

I bet my review seems like a mess and what not, but I'm just sharing my emotions towards this series off the top of my head after finishing it. I legit went through it so quickly, then held off watching the last episode because I didn't want it to end!

It's that good y'all! If you're hesitating to watch, JUST DO IT!!

"I'm not sure if I can make you happy, I'm just someone you have to take care of."

I am writing this review as someone who can wholeheartedly relate to this drama.

I was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder from a young age. Like Young-Woo, I also struggled with fitting in and trying to change parts of me to become suitable to society. This drama portrays the life of an Autistic person perfectly. It shows the real life struggles with trying to work in a social space and how that can be challenging for someone with a disability.

It also portrays how an autistic person is fully capable of falling in love, maintaining a relationship and learning how they work along the way. It illustrates the challenges individuals with autism face in navigating emotions, grappling with deception, and experiencing moments of overwhelming emotions.

I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The show was fantastic, and I believe it did justice to the tale of an autistic lawyer attempting to deal with the realities of daily life. I am hoping there will be a second season so we can learn more about her experiences becoming a full-time Hanbada lawyer and in her love life. I have noticed something: in the series, Woo Young Woo's mother declared that she did not want to become a mother and have the child from the very beginning of her pregnancy. In accordance with the agreement she and Woo's father made, she gave the child away to the child's father after she gave birth and she never looked back (as he would be the only person responsible for the child's upbringing). I believe it was unfair that she was being attacked by everyone for not looking for or caring for Woo Young Woo; she had previously made it clear that she did not want to become a mother.
I definitely felt a lot of emotions while watching this K-drama. This drama, in my opinion, says a lot about itself because it inspired me to learn more about the autism spectrum and to discover that there are roughly five types.

Took a piece of my heart ❤️

Goddd how can I explain it. It's too too too good. I have seen some shows and on autism but this one is a diamond. If your having a thought whether to watch it or not undoubtedly watch it because you would be doing yourself a favor. I loved it. If there is anyone out there with a biggest and largest green flag that is main male lead. He definitely took my heart, no no I just gave him my heart. The writing was too good. they wrote characters with a lot of love. Will see a great character development for each character even the main female lead. At the they have shown that she is not alone in this world. Oh! I completely forgot about dolphins. Just a marvelous piece of art which took my heart. Also can't wait for the next season as it is confirmed.

WOW!!

I can’t speak highly enough of the show. the creators/directors/actors/actresses did an amazing job. this was my first KDrama and it made me fall in love with the Korean culture. the acting was impeccable from Park Eun Bin. She represented Autism so well. There were a few sad moments when the MC felt sad that resonated with me or how her co workers mistreated her at work. it felt so real and it was hard to watch. I originally watched English dubbed but plan to watch in Korean and read the subtitles.

Started So Strong But Lost Its Way

I have an autistic nephew and let me assure you that Park Eun-Bin gives the performance of a lifetime. Imagine what it took to not only remember all those lines of legal jargon, but to deliver them so concisely and quickly. Woo Young-Woo was so brilliant, sweet, innocent, awkward, and endearing. You couldn't help but like her; however her romance with Lee Jun-Ho (Kang Tae Oh) was kind of blah. NOT because her character had autism and his didn't, but because I found their chemistry a bit lacking.

In Alchemy of Souls, Lee Jae-Wook and Jung So-Min were so hot they damn near melted the screen. Woo Young-Woo and Lee Jun-Ho were cute together, but I was never fully invested in them as a couple. I was rooting for her, not necessarily for them. Unfortunately, the drama fell off after episode 12. I do not understand why they shifted gears when her backstory was beginning to unfold. The drama ended on a high note, but they really dropped the ball by bailing on an intriguing storyline. The redirection of the plot in episodes 13-15 made absolutely no sense.

Remarkable at its finest!

I finished watching the first four episodes and WOW! WHAT A GREAT SHOW! Park Eun bin puts on a masterful performance as expected. The scene where she's in the courtroom for the first time and she gets nervous so she decides to approach the situation by taking courage and confronting the people who are there telling them to be patient with her because she has autism spectrum disorder but still will. Her, and she will do her best because she loves the law. That scene really moved me! And we are only at the beginning! I also really liked that they included a case with LGBT, which is hard to happen in Korean series. Little by little the characters are winning my heart. I can't wait for next Wednesday. This will give something to talk about, and for good.

Very touching and informative

I don’t have autism or know anyone on the spectrum, but this drama has brought to light what many people don’t know. I’m very grateful they showed autism in a very informative and interesting way without overdoing it for the sake of the drama. This drama will shed light and change the way people think of others on the spectrum. It breaks my heart that they’re treated to differently when really we are all the same. Everyone should watch this drama. It’s one of the best of the year!
Every week I find myself waiting so impatiently for the next episodes and it’s constantly on my mind that I even search Youtube videos, TikToks, and even twitter threads just so I can see others opinion on this very beautiful show. The cast is amazing! The acting is great! And I really hope everyone takes the opportunity to give this show a chance. I went in blind and now I’m hooked.

I have to leave a review mid-way through the drama - It's so good!

I don't write many reviews on MDL, but this drama is so good I had to write something down about it. I really don't know know much about autism spectrum disorder other than what I learned watching Love on the Spectrum. But it seems that Park Eun Bin has really nailed the portrayal of Woo Young Woo, with all the little quirks that apparently come with ASD: liking things lined up and organised, her little ritual for going through doors, etc. Her mannerisms really seem to be in line with how someone with ASD would act; if this is not the case then my apologies.

The writing is also amazing. I'm really not that into the legal procedural stuff so don't have much of an opinion on that. I am mostly interested in the interactions between the various characters, and those interactions are amazing. I cannot wait to learn more about how these characters ended up where they are.

Perhaps I'm an old softie, but I find myself with tears in my eyes at least a couple times an episode; sad tears, poignant tears, happy tears, touched tears! It's been a while since a drama has played my emotions like this. The crazy thing is that it's not heavy-handed at all (or at least doesn't feel that way; perhaps the writers know exactly what they are doing!)

The last thing I'll say is that I am already rewatching episodes and I started watching this show less than a week ago. This show is crazy!
