Slice of life

This drama unfolds at a relaxed pace, devoid of hurried plots or chaotic storylines. Instead, it delicately navigates life's challenges, offering therapeutic healing for the female protagonist's trauma through the optimistic and humorous demeanor of the male lead.

The background story of a bossy president and a poor assistant is made more refreshing and realistic, making it more plausible for the audience. It adds a good combination of a second female character who serves as a novelist, analyzing the love story of the main characters, creating a path for the secondary love story. Lastly, the warm relationship between parents and children is enjoyable to witness.

Ticked all the boxes for me and rated 8.5/10 because ending left me with a sense of 'needed more'

Really enjoyed this Romance Series ❤️

I smiled throughout, accept of course the villian's part.

I enjoyed the acting of the ML & FL as their love rang true through their acting. No 'fish lip' kisses and affection & love appeared genuine.

All the Arc's and plots were thought out and complemented the overall storyline.

Loved the OST, there could have been another great song though as the main theme song felt overly used.

Production and Visual FX : 8.5

Rewatch value: Will rewatch if I need a feel good drama after watching a heart wrenching sad story.

When they said slow burn, they really meant slow burn. I'm a patient watcher but even I had to go watch other stuff and keep coming back when I wanted to but overall, not a bad show at all.

The story was sweet from start to finish; even when they had "complications in the beginning and misunderstandings, there was not a second where the main couple as not sweet and I loved it but hated how slow the burn was because even though there was some complications and insecurities; they truly just clicked immediately and should've flown with it but it's true, it does take a while for it to form and I'm cool with it in the end but at first, I was like PLEASE LMFAO; I loved the family and friends though, everything really was just a nice flow and pace of things.

Loved the acting, it seemed so natural and it's all I could ask for.

OST IS PRETT GREAT NGL

I wouldn't rewatch it for the sole fact that it took me so long in the first place but I do not regret putting my time into it.

All Is Well In Love

Ye Shi Lan is a pediatrician who harbors hurt from a failed relationship as well resentment towards her father's suicide. Due to hospital politics, she was banned to Tao Yuan Village as a volunteer doctor. On her 7th month there, a stranger by the name of Lu Zhao Xi finds his way to the village infirmary due to him driving into a landslide accident. Furthermore, due to the heavy rain and thunderstorm all handphone signals were out, due to the village location. Shi Lan and Zhao Xi's relationship gets off to a bad start. Not believing that Zhao Xi is her hospital's new incoming President, she mistakes him for a swindler. It is during this time at the village that Zhao Xi finds himself attracted to Shi Lan.

Upon his return to the city hospital, he arranges for her to return from the village to the hospital, making her his temporary office assistant. As he continues to pursue her in a most delightful way, Shi Lan, a pessimist when it comes to love and relationship tries to turn away from his advances ....and slowly but surely, he wins her over. However, their love is not without trials and tribulation.

I enjoyed this drama very much as the two main leads have good chemistry together. Their relationship is mature.
Communication between the two are forthcoming and lots of hugging and kissing, emanating a feel good sensation throughout the show. It is really nice to watch a drama where the gentleman is so together, confident and understanding when it comes to loving a woman. As the show focused mainly on healthy relationships, not only of the two main leads, but also Zhao Xi's parents and Zhao Xi's Personal Assistant Lin Kai Wen and Shi Lan's best friend Yao Jia Jia, there were many episodes that just kind of sailed along, which dragged a bit for me. However, I held on for all the hugs and kisses. Many scenes between the two also brought about giggles and laughter. I am glad I watched the drama to it's completion.

This is a good slice of life drama with a light fun plot. Although there is character growth, especially for Ye Shi Lan (played by Liang Jie), her character was insufferable in her lack of understanding of her own feelings for most of the drama. At age 28, not knowing when you are in love or, at least feel attracted to someone, when she had been in a relationship before, is simply unrealistic. Lu Zhao Xi (played by Joseph Zeng) was also too restrained about his feelings for Ye Shi Lan and, although he seemed to understand Shi Lan lack romantic knowledge, his constant teasing became tiribg since, most of the time, it lead to nowhere. Even though, once they started the romantic relationship their interactions got better, there are no great sparks coming out of either one of them; their romance was cute and they grew to love and better understand each other. There is no great force of nature feeling in this drama but there are many good feel moments. The drama ends well but the ending was more appropriate for a youth drama; it was too playful and lacked romantic vigor for a pair of adults that are finally openly together. It does make you smile, though!

Decent, easy and very brief

This is another drama written by Screenwriter Wang Xiong Cheng. Since I am a fan of both of his works "Go Ahead" and "Meet Yourself", I had high expectation of this drama. The leads are also the actors who are well known in the industry and previously worked together in another drama series.

The chemistry between the 2 leads are top notch, I love seeing them act and I'm also very much in love with both lead characters too. The story isn't something new nor innovative, but it definitely deserves a praise. The story is very mature and enjoyable to watch too.

Many people might love the male lead more, but I had a different opinion as I got hooked by the female lead instead. I truly admired and empathized the female lead for her hard-work and dedication to become a doctor and how hard it is dealing with office politics. True, I dislike her character very much at the beginning, as I thought of her being so shallow, quick-judging and immature. But as time goes on, she gets her own character development the best way possible.

(this is more of a sharing of my watching experience)
Sadly, what turned me off so badly while watching the drama is how the viewers see the characters. I watched this drama on Viki where the time comments can be made visible by choice, and I chose to add the comments to further enjoy the watching experience. However, as time goes on, viewers blindly defend the male lead no matter the situation is (when he basically told the harasser who reported it) and always criticized the female lead saying she's stupid. The scene I am talking about is when the female lead chose to apologized to her superior, who at the same time, abused/harassed her and her co-workers in the workplace.
As a victim of harassment myself, I empathized with the female lead a lot. It is very hard to confront the harasser, especially someone who has higher position who did that (like the female lead situation in the story). But, rather than feeling sad or empathizing, people chose to call her stupid for her action or she should've changed where she work. I genuinely think that her action is completely understandable - considering her career, and her main source of income is completely dependent on that.

But aside from all the comments, I think the drama is decent. I usually dislike dramas that have a slow-paced romance, but this drama isn't draggy at all - very relatable, where male lead and female lead build a relationship foundation first by being "friends" who help each other, to being in an official romantic relationship when they were sure that they are in love.
I also love how they portrayed male lead's parents, who aren't a typical rich parents who want their children to marry for wealth, but instead, they want their son to make his own love choices and supports him. I also admire male lead's relationship with his mom.

If you love watching a drama that is very brief, but at the same time, have a slow-paced romance where they build their relationship first - then this drama might be enjoyable for you to watch. In my opinion, I like watching this drama, but it wasn't enough that I want to watch it twice in a row. Maybe in the future when I forgot the plot, I can for sure come back and watch again.

Very inspiring

Its totally amazing c drama. I love it. In the starting i felt it seems boring but as i continued it becomes very interesting, cool, attractive and inspiring. President lu is amazing. He has talked and took care of ye shilan very nicely. Very understanding and not selfish at all. He is really a man with all qualities. This web series' episodes are made very patiently. Its a romantic drama as well as very much to learn with ye shilan life. The way president lu always explain to dr ye is quite amazing. He always respect his assistant and his colleagues. And his family is also very nice. He tried to keep a good environment in hospital and that is very nice thing he did as a president. He supported ye shilan and always motivate her to be optimistic. And the friend of ye shilan jiajia she is also very interesting character. Her acting is so cute. Her novel are amazing.

Devilish Boyfriend ?

It is really good. The male lead is cute and his character is interesting. The plot is quite satisfactory, and the cast is perfect. It shows the seriousness of the relationship and also the work's plot is also good. The second lead is also nice and it's interesting to watch the second couple. The plot of the story is not like the same old and there is no love triangle which makes it unique to watch the main lead pursuing and teasing only the female lead. There is a reality in the drama and overall you won't regret watching it.

WATCH IT! YOU WILL NEVER REGRET!

I realized I've watched and love quite a few drama projects under the same scriptwriter~ So I've watched this drama some time ago and I got to say it's one of most sane and not exaggerated couples seen in so many romcom dramas! Yes they do use the typical and commonly seen (dumb) romance plots like when ML and FL first met in the village due to the sudden and "timely" storm and how each other are coincidentally the CEO and subordinate of the same hospital etc. BUT what's really amazing and super appreciated is that everyone is actually acting normally like what happens in true reality including those annoying office politics and higher ups abusing their power in their dept.

FL is no naive and weak / nonsensical person, she has views of her own and acts professionally like what an actual doctor do. ML maybe childish at the beginning but he grows as a person as he learn to manage the organisation and those cunning directors that are eyeing on his position. I like how they used a good and realistic way to overcome the crisis during the climax and FL always get jealous with ML's ex while the ML was having fun teasing her~

This drama don't have much marketing done and don't have super popular actors other than Zheng Shun Xi himself but it's sure that they have produced a good story and good acting! I watched it because there is Liang Jie tbh because I've seen some of her roles in previous projects and she is one actress that has the ability to make her roles charming and outstanding even though she's not some pretty looking lady that fans these days are crazy about. I like most of her dramas and I'm glad she is acting in another well produced dramas like this!

Great drama!

I totally enjoyed this drama. I did not have any expectation in the beginning. End up I was hooked by the story. The ML character is very charming unlike the usual dominating role portrayed, while the upper-class man trying to catch thr attention of a working-class woman. The ML and FL have good chemistry. I like how they tricked and disturbed each other, creating many sweet and yet hilarious scenes. The storyline was heart warming too when the FL had some family issues due to her father's death and how the ML helped FL to open her heart to her mum and people around her. The love story of the second couple were great too.

I highly recommend this drama if you like something short and sweet, not too fancy nor exaggerating type of sweet comedy romance.
