Consider this series underrated even at the current 8.4 MDL rating

My impressions may not be accurate, but it feels like not that many people out there are raving about this series. Or at least there should be more people raving about it.

Amongst all the BL series, censored and uncensored, that I have watched over the years, this is one of the few transcends the boundaries of typical BL series and is deeply moving. Although I watched the uncut version, which has longer episodes, the series feels much longer in a good way. The plot and character development are done impressively well.

The bulk of the series is set in the 1920s, which facilitates the treatment of issues like homophobia and the subjugation of women in society. There are LGBTQ characters, but the series does not give the impression that it is including lesbian and queer characters as a token act of inclusivity, to generate hype or as a means of creating humor. Even relatively minor characters are presented with nuance. Impressively, the series even broaches potentially controversial issue of reproductive rights, with one female character deciding to get an abortion when she finds herself pregnant after a traumatic incident of marital rape. One may also appreciate the added layer of complexity when the issue of class differences enter the relationships that are already taboo due to sexual orientation.

If I have to specify a flaw in the series, it is that the story is incomplete. We see Jom traveling from 2023 to the 1920s and meeting Yai. However, it is hinted (actually quite directly shown, especially at the end of the uncut version after the closing credits) that Yai has a previous incarnation before the 1920s. A monk they meet also say that the two of them are destined to meet each other. Unfortunately, at the end of the uncut version, we catch a glimpse of Jom traveling to the unspecified era before the 1920s (assuming he's not dreaming or anything). This also means that Yai will inevitably be separated from Jom in two of the lifetimes. There is obviously a Season 2 tease, and I hope Season 2 gets made.

The seemingly happy ending of the current season leaves one feeling a little perplexed because it is unexplained. How does Yai turn up in the house where Jom is? Has he traveled to the future (impossible since the belongings he left behind suggest that he does not meet Jom again in his lifetime)? Is he a ghost? Is he a reincarnation of Yai (but how would his reincarnation know about Jom)? In the end, the saddening truth we know is that after Jom disappears from the 1920s (and returns to 2023 involuntarily), Yai spends the rest of his life pinning for Jom.

Cried like a baby

Where to even start? First and foremost the amount of times that I cried in this show is actually horrendous. Like babes I’m not even joking with you right now (actually tearing up rn). The acting: the acting was really good. Natural chemistry between all the actors.
The characters: Kuhn Yai. Oh that sweet talking handsome man. Kuhn Yai will forever hold a special place in my heart. Jom was okay. The amount of times his character gave me anxiety in this show was too many. Actually the amount of anxiety Yai and Jom gave me throughout the show was WAY TOO MANY.
I loved the lesbian side story because we don’t get much WLW representation in general so THANK YOU for even just this side story. But the KISS! That’s was so unexpected but gladly appreciated. In BLs WLW relationships are terribly represented so I was so shocked at the good scenes with the side GL storyline.
The plot. This is where I have some unanswered questions. Throughout the story we are introduced to a bunch of things that you would think by the end would be of importance or have a role to play later on but a lot of things did in fact not mean anything. We are introduced to a ring that didn’t mean anything, a gift from Yai to Jom that looks like a time turner from Harry Potter and dreams that Jom had but never touched on. I definitely feel like the director could’ve done better. Jom found pictures in a chest from a new house project he took on in the beginning. Later we find out he drew them himself but when he rediscovers them after he comes back from the past it’s like they lose their value to us as a watcher because we’ve already seen Jom digging through the chest finding the drawings and gift.
Having Jom see “ghost” of himself and Yai from the past while being in the future and vice versa was confusing. Also the ending with there being some kind of threshold that allows past Yai and future Jom meet? Like I like a happy ending but wtf is that?
Why introduce a possible season two with some weird warrior timeline with a RIDICULOUS mustache for Yai and have him not know remember Jom but Jom remember him? Is Jom the same in every timeline but not Yai. Why not have The same Yai and Jom because that would make them feel like actual soulmates?
They could have easily made Jom wake up from a coma and had Yai as a doctor and they meet again like that. Or Yai could’ve been the new house owner of Joms new house project and had that as the ending. Would have been so much better.
Anyways rant over lol. It was a good show and highly underrated and ofc I’m hoping for a season two.

ONE OF THE BEST STORIES I EVER WATCHED

I would divide my reviews in things that came to me after watching it ; one is EXCELLENT STORY. The story is about Love that proves in every time, Khun Yai's love is to make Jom experience it in every time, whether it is in the past, present or future, or even past of pasts ! I would say that this drama has an excellent story ! How good is the mind of the writter of this story ! I would never be able to create a story like this, it is out of this world. When I watch a show, one of the things that I look into is the story, if the story is something that I can get a lessons from, if the story is something that touches my heart and will blow my mind, I would say this show checks all the boxes ! And the execution of the story is DAEBAK ! to be honest, I kinda lost my trust to DeeHup House coz I did not like the Step by Step ( I am sorry to those who liked it ) but here they got back my trust to them. So going back, the story is remarkable, and phenomenal, Like I am obsessed, It is nice that I realized the true message of the show or the story at the end, and that kept me from being curious about like what is it going to be, what's gonna happen? And I was answered, I am satisfied with it as a whole.
Second thing is ROMANTIC. The way Khun Yai and Jom making love is literally EVERYTHING ! about the kiss, it blew my mind ! Nothing awkward about it, it looked so real, it was not dry, it was not too wet, just enough ! And okay I am talking about this right now, usually some of us feels enticed of kissing scene in a BL, I admit I do! But here whenever they make love and kiss I felt their love to each other, it was everything I am obsessed ! This will be one of the reasons why it will be hard for me to move on on this drama! Khun Yai and Jom was like they just love one another so much, it was not about if they were both guys anymore, not about the gender anymore, but the love itself, the romance I am looking for is this one and will definitely be this one. Joms character was not too weak, but I would say he is strong ! and nothing I don't like about his character, and Yai ? OMG the greenest green flag ever, he is literally a prince ! Third is ONE OF THE BEST ACTINGS/ ACTORS. leading by experienced actors completed this show, Nonkul's acting here was phenomenal ! How he did the softy cute guy , and his everything here is literally everything ! Let me just say that Kim Goodburn is my favorite here ! I loved it when they casted him, I hope he would accept one day a BL genre, so yeah I like also his character here, and I liked everyone! I liked Ming ! The acting of good actors here are not wasted because such a promising story and show. Lastly, HEARTFELT. I am someone who looks for a drama that touches my heart, as what I mentioned in every episode reviews I made, I cried most of every episode ! Adding the song ? OMG it is everything ! My favorite part was when Khun Yai showed Jom the fireflies , so so romantic, also the night before Jom will be gone, their making love, I cried so much coz I know the feeling of someone you really miss! Also when Jom pushed Khun to follow his parents when Khun Yai's parents want him to be engaged to a woman, and the scene where Khun Yai and Jom danced outside and it rained ! Well almost everything is my favorite part ! I love the song every time I hear the song it makes me wanna cry too ! I felt everything, the sincerity, the love, the message ! I had a blast with this drama.
Lastly I wanna say that this drama exceeded my expectations, definitely one of the promising dramas of 2023 for me from now on ! , I hope it would be recognized internationally as ATOTS, and yeah this is now my top favorite ! Coz who doesn't ? Unless they did not understood the whole show or not into this kind of genre. Surely will re watch this many times in the future, coz who knows maybe I may also be able to go back to the past coz maybe like Jom there is someone who has been loving me for so so long ! HAHAHA just kidding ! ❤️

One of the best BL series

I watched this series without any expectations, even though I noticed the rating was quite high. Given my past experiences with BL series, I often found the execution lacking, be it in chemistry, editing, or costumes, especially in those set in the past like this one.

However, I really enjoyed watching 'I Feel You Linger in the Air,' particularly the interaction between Khun Yai and Jom, which didn't feel cringe-worthy at all.

The only thing that bothered me was the ending, leaving me with many questions. Fortunately, after searching online, I finally understood the conclusion.

I hope a second season can happen, as I've been somewhat traumatized by numerous BL series that were supposed to continue but were suddenly canceled without any clarity.

I'm also looking forward to the special episode!

Pretty to look at but Illogical

The universality of this series being praised as a ‘masterpiece’ or ‘the best so far’, makes me reticent to be critical of this series. As indeed, I had so looked forward with great anticipation to watching this series, thinking my reaction would be the same. I understand that it is a fantasy and I love fantasies, specifically time travel, as you have to suspect your beliefs and embrace your disbeliefs. And I could easily do that but not with this series. It left me feeling empty for some reason. I hate to admit this, but I felt nothing for the main couple whereas everyone else seemed to see their love destiny. All I saw was cute acting to deliberately set-up scenarios to pull at heartstrings, mostly at an agonizingly slow pace then filled in between with a density of immaturity defined by a constant sense of deference that made no sense. The only ones having the courage to fight that mindset were the ‘servants’ who were nothing more than slaves, and the women, who had the courage to stand up for themselves but paid a very heavy price for their convictions. The men, including our main characters, cowered, and are ‘waiting for destiny’ to save them.

“jomm..” “khun yai” “here is my jom… (işte buradaymış benim Jom’um… )”

2023 Best BL so far

This series deserves awards. Best acting and onscreen chemistry, best script, best director, best bl fantasy 2023, best supporting artists, best cinematography, best story... and the list goes on and on and on. Absolutely mind-blowing performances from the leads and the rest of the cast. Bravo to the whole Feel You Linger team, production Inc. Now I'm sad its finished!
It made me cry to see my beloved Khun Yai, to miss and suffer for Jom when he left. And that comeback at the end I didn't expect!

A series that I want to recommend to everyone, without a doubt the best BL and one of the best series.

This series has no equal, I really hope they have many awards!

I WILL TREASURE THEM FOREVER!

In love with this story. I think words are not enoughAt the beginning I didn't have many expectations but every chapter I was nervous and at the same

time enchanted with every event of this series! And that ending and reunion, I jumped with happiness to get a second season with these magnificent actors.

Finally, this series is in my heart forever, with each of its details.
these two actor deserve an award for their acting skills. I can't wait for season 2

THIS series is very REALLY GOOD

oh sorry for my bad English? I REWATCHED THIS SERIES ON YOUKU EVERYDAY FOR WAITING TO THE NEXT EPISODE.? THE STORYLINE AND ACTORS CHEMICAL IS SO GOOD AND CUTE. I can feel everything form them. The body language and eyesight ?Khun Yai (Bright), I have nothing to say except that he is very handsome. It's like he walked out of a novel. His acting was flawless, especially his eyesight. And Jom (Nonkul), I think his acting has been good since the past. But I never thought he would be able to act so cute. The first time I saw him I was still shocked. Because it was like he had changed into a different person. His performance was truly amazing. And the person named Ming (Guide) who acted as Jom's friend acted very well. He is very handsome and has a cute personality. And another character I'm interested in is Mr. James. He's likely to be someone who plays an important role in future stories. And the story between Ueng Phueng and Mei is very interesting. I can't guess what the story will be like next. I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY BUT THANK YOU DEEHUB FOR THIS SERIES.

Not the best BL in 2023 by far...

What I like:
production quality
costumes
music
most acting

What I dislike:
The ending; yes it's fantasy and so on, but it's not believable.
Jom - he is sometimes docile, sometimes mature. Only in the finale after "returning" he is much more believable.
Stereotype evil Robert, he is too plain, just a 08/15 bad character from one of the cheap novels published every week, no depth, no other side of him, just 10 pages worth of the 60 pages.
Story-Plotholes: While Yai falling in love was shown for a long time, Jom just did it out of the blue, overcoming his trauma from ep 1 in a blink of an eye. To be gay in early 20th century was by far not as easy as it's depicted in this story. Yai confesses he loves Jom and the father was relativly mild., compared to other series where the family explodes even today. There were always exceptions to the rule but it makes this point of the story not believable.
Pacing: After Robert is removed from the series everything is dragged on an on which made me skip some scenes.
Yai with silly Mustache

Summary:
While the production quality was top notch, music was very fitting, the acting overall very good, the setting something unique, the ending unbelievable and the preview of a second season unnecessary, this show is a mixed bag. Jom should have been more struggeling and maybe slowly falling in love in episode 7 with the first spicy scene in episode 8. But of course they could have paced the show faster with some serene scenes inbetween. If there is a second season I hope they will not repeat the same mistakes they did this time where script and direction was sometimes weak.

Albeit the Slower than usual Pace, The Chemistry is Chemistrying

From the pilot we knew this was gonna be a brawler to some extent and there were expectations for the series given the casting of seasoned actors for the lead characters.

What I liked about this series was the beautiful cinematography, dialogue and pace (which was slower than usual and reflective of the pace of life then), the impeccable acting by Nonkul and Bright (never heard of them before this series), and the character designs. Majority of the characters were likeable, even with their flaws. The main leads truly hard carried this series, but the supporting cast and characters were equally amazing (albeit some awkward acting by the extras in the market scene). I have never seen an actor (Nonkul) act coy so well (without being cringe) and Bright was able to pull off that innocent yet hungry look effortlessly.

And their hands! The way they moved their hands during the intimate and emotional scenes, the choreography and their hands need an Oscar. The chemistry between the two main leads was sensuous, genuine and natural, and beautiful to watch. The main characters feed off each other and together made each other whole; when one was weak the other was strong, when one was lost the other led. It's been a while since I've seen such great chem and acting in BL (in general). There was also notable effort put into set design, costume and even CGI, to give us good production quality.

While the choice of music was rather predictable, I'm thankful there was no overuse of the theme song which can get irritating by the time viewers reach mid-point of the series. The plot line and character designs were also good, except for maybe ep 10 and 11, where there was some in-congruence in character (Yai, and his mother).

What could've been better for me was the context setting and ending. I thought more effort could have been put into building up the 1920s universe, especially since this could be interesting for international fans who may not be familiar with Thai history and way of life. That context setting would've also helped understand the impact created by Jom. The ending also needed some damn explanation... I hope they help put a proper conclusion to the series with a special edition. *Spoiler* and personally I don't really want to go further back in time...

Undeniable Chemistry, Questionable Storyline

Alright, my opinion on this drama may be a bit unpopular (and quite controversial)— it wasn’t a masterpiece. If anything, the acting, production, cinematography, and soundtrack made up for the drama’s main weakness— its plot.

Before jumping into the negatives, there is, without a doubt, not a single flaw in the casting. Here we have a lineup of seasoned actors and actresses, so role immersion and the ability to express the characters emotions were executed very well. It had a good balance of romance, lightheartedness, and a touch of melo. Intimate scenes were produced very well— courtesy of the leads sizzling chemistry! Although the drama may be a bit slower in pace, it wins the trophy for having the most natural and well-developed "relationship development" between the leads. My BIGGEST pet peeve is going into a drama where the leads are doing the hanky panky 10 mins into the pilot episode… like, do y’all even know each others names? Take notes screenwriters.. cause' this is how you do it! If there was one thing I could change, it would be including more variety into the soundtrack (since one song in particular was quite overused throughout the drama and wasn’t befitting for a few scenes).

Alright, now onto the meat of the review. What went wrong? To start, the premise of the drama isn’t entirely unique, though it does retain some of its own creative flair. It had a strong start by captivating watchers in its worldbuilding of 1920s Chiang Mai. However, my main complaint for this drama slowly became its worldbuilding, which also ties closely to some of the major plot holes you could practically ram a truck into. For instance, who was that person appearing in the modern House of Palatip? Could this be Jom from the past, switching souls with Jom of the present? Also, Uncle Stan heard Jom "calling him" the night before his first visit in the morning— Who was that? A hallucination? When Uncle Tan said this, is it the incident Jom experienced after laying a drunk Khun Yai down to sleep? if so, how does that timeline work? What’s up with Jom hearing the voice of Uncle Tan? Does it tie with the Jom appearing in the modern House of Palatip? How on earth did modern Khun Yai gain the memories of his past? Oh— and don’t get me started on the PAST PAST timeline before the 1920s Chiang Mai era.

Man, that was a handful. Just thinking about that plot, which seems so simple, churns my brain into a slimy mess. Clearly, I didn’t expect to have to exert THIS much power into understanding this convoluted plot.

Nonetheless, it’s definitely a bingeable one. If I had to be honest, I was hooked for the first 4 episodes and gradually lost interest later on. It is a bit disappointing how open-ended the drama left off. If there is another season planned, hopefully the writers can tie some of the loose knots and clarify the worldbuilding a bit more.

A new take on BL.

The series is a beautiful new take on a BL story. I did really enjoy this series a lot as it takes on you a rollercoaster of emotions. The actors, location, and costumes are amazing. There are a few down parts to this series, as there are a lot of castes to remember who is who. Some of the storylines were annoying and not needed at all. The whole ex situation was very annoying and I hated that he forgave his loser ex and his girlfriend because of their past lives. No matter what he was not worth coming back in the end and there was no point in forgiving him, karam did its job. I did not like the father and brother-in-law and to be honest that time period was a very sad time to live. There were a few over-dramatic moments that looked and felt unrealistic. I wish James and Ming got to shine a bit more. The biggest issue was the end, which was horrible with lots of unanswered questions and I hate when a movie leaves you with more questions than answers. I get that the company is leading the way to a season two maybe but I hate the open ending, there was a better way to introduce a second season. The series has beautiful storytelling with the main couple I do wish they grow the relationship more than focus on the side characters. Sadly I did find myself fast-forwarding a bit to get to parts I really wanted to see as there are a few times it is boring and dragging on. I love the main couple's chemistry and wish they developed it more. This series was a nice start to a fresh look to the BL series. I wish it showed more growth and better flow, as felt slow at some point and fast at others. I do hope to see the main couple again.
