The romcom is romcoming

Tuned in to this drama blindly but ended watching it in one sitting. This drama is such a breath of fresh air for me, since it has been a long time since I watched a pure romantic comedy drama with no other subplots. Chemistry between the leads is off the chart and the story is concise and executed properly. Some scenes really made me twirling and giggling with the perfect amount of cringiness. I like how it also brought up patriarchy issue and how women are suffering because of it by showing a strong and brave female lead. Teo Yoo is so handsome!

Fun, hilarious, none cliche romcom

2nd April 2023
Enjoyed it alot. Unique compared to the rest of kdramas i watched. I loved the main female lead. It was hilarious too especially the first episodes, the chem was soo good. Do wonjun( the 2nd male lead was soo handsome, i am a sucker for long haired dudes. I really liked it, wish it was longer just coz i had a fun time. I finished it in one night except for the last ep coz my phone was broken.

The only negative thing I have to say is the ' i love u' confessions were a bit insta lovey as they kinda of just met.

Anyway, overall a good romcom with no cliches

A clichéd and entertaining watch for couch time.

She strikes you as a feminist – independent, progressive and she certainly knows what her heart desires. Like everyone else, circumstances sometimes put you in a position where you have to play the rules to get ends meet and that's Yeo Miran as a lawyer. And no, she's not the hotshot kind (at least, not when you first meet her – this is a forgivable spoiler right?) but she's tenacious, observant and fully aware of her capabilities in regards to social relations – both as a colleague and a woman. In no time, you're in her grip. This makes her dangerous, a femme fatale.

Nam Kangho is supremely attractive (cough um cough it's Yeo Teo guys I cannot resist cough cough) and just, an amiable actor who is good at his job so naturally, he becomes fans and staffs' favourite. Behind the curtain? I'd say he's not entirely different except for this one thing. And that's the cue for Yeo Miran. But our ML is similar to FL; he's sort the person who stakes the premise beforehand and throws pebbles to see if they bite the bait. In other words, he's observant too, rather blunt and can be real cute at times. If she's the resident femme fatale, then he's her counterpart – the homme fatale.

Together, the dynamics is straight out hilarious. The editing is top-notch and they probably had fun adding effects here and there. OST is forgettable but well-suited with overall ambiance. Tandem between ML and 2ML was convincing and high-key on bromance. And the acting? As expected. It's Kim Okvin and Yeo Teo. Their names are enough to sell this series. More so when it's rom-com. Some parts you don't necessarily agree (I mean, they're flawed and let's not forget, we're too) and it's a work of fiction – while it's very close on fantasy territory, some things are just meant to be that way, realistically and with these points in mind, it remains binge-worthy.

Another thing, the kiss scenes are SWOON :OO

Okay, okay now it's time to wait patiently for Yeo Teo's recently premiered film on Sundance, called Past Lives!

definitely one of my favs of 2023!!

i was missing a rom-com like that, it was amazing to seeing a show that brought the nostalgia of a good romcom like those of yesteryear, I'm definitely going to rewatch this a couple times ?? the characters are good and the “secondary couple” is good too! even though they don't get a lot of screen time as a couple. There's also a bit of enemies to lovers which makes me like the show even more, the female leader is tough and the male leaderis all "cute"/protective which makes it even more enjoyable to watch!

Love to Love this drama!!

Went into this with zero expectations, came out with a huge smile on my face. I loved everything about this drama! I HIGHLY recommend it, and it will definitely be on my rewatch list. I’ve never seen the leads in anything else, and I hope this won’t be the last I see of them, they did a fantastic job. Actually, all of the actors in this drama were great. Just when you think you know what is going to happen (because you’ve seen it all before), it surprises you. So refreshing watching a mature romance for a change.

Quirky, Swoonworthy, and Comedic!

This drama was the perfect blend of legal drama, romance, comedy, and likeable characters! Both the ML and FL were a delight to watch, especially hearing their inner monologues. The progression from enemies -> lovers was wonderful of course, especially as more vulnerable aspects of each character was revealed. The FL being strong and willful was a breath of fresh air in the romance genre. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS! XD! There was not a dull moment during this show. I binged the entire show within 1 day!

A must-watch for fans of rom-coms!

Love to Hate You is a must-watch for fans of romantic comedies and action-packed dramas. The show delivers a perfect mix of positive energy, funny moments, and cool action scenes that will keep you hooked from start to finish.

One of the highlights of the show is its likable characters. The lead actors and actresses are not only beautiful, but they also have great chemistry on-screen. Their interactions will surely make you root for them, even when they are at odds with each other.

The pacing of the drama is fast and dynamic, but not overwhelming. The show's ability to keep the audience engaged without making them feel rushed is commendable. Moreover, the show has a lot of positive vibes that can uplift your mood and make you feel happy.

Another aspect that stands out in Love to Hate You is its OST. Each episode has a different OST at the end, and they're all fantastic.

Overall, Love to Hate You is an enjoyable watch that will make you smile. Its combination of romance, comedy, and action makes for an entertaining and engaging drama that you won't want to miss.

"What we look for love is something that we never looked for,

a person changes your life of what love really is..." (continuation) :>

This drama never disappoints!! it's not the typic cliché kdrama that talks about love and hate, but the fact that even the characters (especially the male and female leads) made a whole impact with this drama! I really love how each scenes blends well with the atmosphere, plus the chemistry of the casts never made me regret watching this! this was so underrated, that the fact that this drama was very special where in fact the story was really lovely! Never regretted to watch this drama and how it was so good!! For this note, i'll be talking more about the story and the characters and/or casts as part of taking this time to rate and give recognition to all users who are looking forward to watch this cute drama :)) (and why I rated it a perfect ten ), and finally while concluding this drama, I would definitely and finally confirming that this would be one of the best rom-com kdramas in 2023 so far!!

STORY/PLOT
It tells about a brave, strong, and a rookie attorney Yeo Mi-ran who works at Gilmu Law Firm, known at working numerous number of entertainment company accompanying cases involved by the actors/actresses images throughout their career. She is known to be a hardworking and lovely to her own mother and her best friend since high school who stayed by her side till present by an unexpected short-coming consequences, but she was not interested in entering another romantic relationships because of her exes and how she hates man that gives her all to the,. It was her typical moral lessons that she would never date the type of men she dated before.
On another, a top actor from the entertainment industry, Nam Kang Ho, was known from his famous roles and well known in south korea due to his titleship roles that made him recognized and popular by many. Due to his handsome and visuals, including his intelligence and kindness, many koreans, even the co-workers in his previous roles in his projects loved and adored him so much. With his personal life, he never trusted women, because of his past relationship that gives him anxiety and trauma.
But then, as they met together, they decided to be called as enemies. Turns out that they were in a love battle, as they slowly falling for each other. But both of them never trusts what love is, until they encounter challenges and obstacles in their path.

Well with the story itself, it was very interesting. No-called fate, a story about battling how they hated the word love, until one of them slowly falls in love and the other as well. I really fell in love with the plot itself. Where in fact, I craved for this type of story because honestly so far from the kdrama series I've finished, I never had the chance to look forward about the characters who had the same situation as they had, like never trust the word love in entering relationships. But the truth is where you can find if that person you were or were not looking for actually changes your life they way it was before. The lead and second lead couples made a whole lot different with how this drama was so underrated, including the story as well!! this is why I like this drama. Not your expected typical kdramas that we see. A 10 episode kdrama that I would badly want a 12 episode for another screentime to the second lead couples huhuhu :'))

CAST & CHARACTERS
All of them were new to me, so I'll make this part short. I'll go first with Kim Ok Bin as Yeo Mi ran. Wow she changed the whole atmosphere of the drama like most of the time! I really get so attracted with her character, because it not the type of kdrama fmls who always cries and made me *cringe* a bit, but she was far FAR different to some fml's hehe. I also looked at her discography, wow she was really skilled! From boxing, takewondo, and such! Kim Ok Bin was a promising actress, and hoping she could get roles like action-crime fiim's, and maybe i'll be looking forward to her future projects soon! Now with the handsome and attractive Yoo Teo as Nam Kang Ho, wow like HE'S 41!!??! goshhh kbeauty made them look so younger as ever. Like he's aged like fine wine for me :')). With his character, gosh how I wish to find a man like him huhuhu :')) like it's visible, how he really fell in love first to Mi Ran. I felt bad with his past relationships, since he quite get traumas and anxiety as well. But oh well looking forward to his next roles in the future projects to come!! Next, Kim Ji Hoon as Do Won Joon. He was known in the korean addapt. of money heist. But oh well he was attractive by his role and character. The first time as I saw him from this drama, both him and Yoo Teo has potentials to be recognized more since they deserve it so well! Including Ok Bin as well! Lastly, Go Won Hee as Shin Na Eun. Actually I was thinking if she was that recognized in this drama? Since most of the time the story really focused to the fml and ml, but she really deserve more screen time, as what I have said on top, Ji Hoon and her in their characters, they need more scenes because they had also good chemistry as well. But her character, I think it needs improvement because honestly some viewer (from the comments) say that her character was annoying, but for me she also bring attention to some scenes as well. To all of the casts, they need bigger recognition sooner, because they all deserve it! They really chose the drama that fits their appearances as well! and btw, their friendships in the drama was like from the drama A business proposal a bit haha.

Overall a good watch, but how much more this drama would be better if they had the great amount of screentime to the second lead couples, and also a 12 episode kdrama but oh well its netflix :'))

Good for binge watch (50-55 min 10 episode kdrama), perfect time kill during weekends and great for beginners as well! Very recommended to re-watch it all over again!!

Kudos to the writers of this drama!! Rooting for the casts and looking forward to their next projects to come!! LOVE THEM SO MUCH AND I'LL MISS THEM MORE :'D

Regardless of execution, I am glad that Korean media is fostering some gender dialogue - it's a start, and we've got a ways to go...

I'll be honest. I could relate to her initial opinions, her distrust of men, etc. Why the h*ll did she fall in love with a misogynist borderline incel? I'm sorry, dude get over your bad breakup. Like he literally hates women and cannot even have a normal conversation with one, let alone touch one. Move on!!! Get some therapy! There's no closure to his misogyny either (by episode 8, when she reciprocates his feelings). Not much of a feminist, in the end she still ended up with the kind of man she hated. Sorry, the ML is so not charming.

The FL is a hot mess. It's like a man's idea of a modern woman? She sleeps with 100+ guys but is strong and violent and is like a succubus to them. She isn't really a person with depth, she's just "not like other girls...

I enjoyed the first episode or two, as it was different and interesting. But damn, it got boring and ridiculous. Why did the FL's friend and the ML's manager/friend start dating-ish? I never got to the end obvi, but I could tell they were going to. So lazy.

What women should not learn from

This drama picked fl and made her a shi##y feminazi , a hollow se# hungry bitch . Cheating bfs sleeping with more than hundred partners, whereas an a class star with trauma . It's shown he get anxiety attacks when he nears a girl , so how is he acting and kissing another female . It's kind of drama which increases a hate towards particular gender .It's highly rated drama, can be only justified cause it's watched by clowns who want to be like her and gave a rating of maximum .
One thing which compelled me to complete this series was 2nd Ml the product of flower of evil ? , he was the perfect actor only thing to see in a drama

So bad I thought an American had written the show

The idea wasn't bad, but the execution was terrible. The FL was completely unlikeable. Her character was basically the best martial arts fighter since bruce lee, the best driver, the best lawyer, the best everything ever. It got old very quickly. She was just plain obnoxious in how she played this part. The FL in Backstreet Rookie is a great example on how to play such a part while still being charming and fun. And the constant reminders thrown in our face in this show about how she could pump and dump as many guys as possible was neither charming nor cute - it was just plain gross.

As someone who has suffered through years of terrible TV in America, I was struck by how much this seemed to have been made over here. The nonstop lectures about and references to the patriarchy, misogyny, alternative sexual lifestyles and other aspects of 'The Message' were simply too much. If I wanted to see that cultural trash I would keep watching the garbage made over here. I watch Korean shows because they usually focus strictly on telling good stories - but not this one. Painting every single person in a group (ie all men are misogynistic pigs) is discriminatory and a huge sign of lazy, low talent writing.

Like I said, the idea has merit and in the hands of a good writer it could have been made into something worth watching. But not this try.
