GO WATCH IT RIGHT AWAY!!!!

This is the BEST drama ever to exist!! It is too perfect to be a mini-drama. I am proud that I am one of the people who has watched this drama. If you are thinking of watching go binge it right away. It is worth every second of your watch. so good!!!! I won't tell you any spoilers here, but I would surely confirm this to you if you haven't watched this drama you are missing out so much in your life. Being a k&c- drama watcher for so long this is a masterpiece that is damn underrated. The writer definitely did an outstanding job and the actors too. I started imagining that I may be a part of a comic world. Or at least I pray that I am.

Night of Love with You is a great miniseries about the always antagonist manga character Qi Qi/ Luo Qing (played by Liu Xie Ning) that by a glitch enters the new comic "Night of Love With You" and becomes the heroine Luo Qing. The comic’s male lead suffers an accident at the hands of Luo Qing and get into a comatose state that gives way to the story between Luo Qing and the male antagonist Leng Ye Han (played by Guan Yue). The former leading lady, Song Ruo Yun (played by Pu Yu Tong), becomes the antagonist who does everything possible to get rid of QiQi to be able to be with the comic’s main lead Mu Nan Chen (played by Liu Ya Kun). The drama is well written and the cast did a great job bringing their characters to life. Mu Nan Chen’s demeanor is quite passive and stoic which is well done by the writer because that way the character of the antagonist Leng Ye Han takes center stage. Song Ruo Yun (played by Pu Yu Tong), the character that Qi Qi was supposed to play, really nails the antagonist role, she is selfish and vicious trying to get Qi Qi/ Luo Qing out of the way. The plot is well developed, there’s great character growth, and the lead couple has great chemistry, Even Luo Qing brother, Luo Cheng (played by Zheng Peng) nails his character as he is constantly used as a pawn to by the antagonist to get Luo Qing. He provides a comical relief to the drama as well as Luo Qing constant monologues that provide insight into the factual aspects of the comic’s plot. Overall, this miniseries provides an interesting story and it is entertaining, enjoy it.

Good

I really enjoyed the story.
The ML and FL have very good characterisation. You could also tell that the script put some effort, especially in the last few episodes of the drama.
The music was also good.
However, there is a con. What I disliked most about the show was the makeup. The cast had too much powder and it looked weird most of the time.
Also, the props were a bit lacking. Blood was more orange than red etc.
Anyway, I know I will rewatch this when I have time in the future.

The plot of this meta romance is bonkers (evil rival girl gets a conscience and is recast in a story as the female lead, has a heart disease that forces her to kiss male lead to survive but instead she strikes him into a coma and kisses his half-brother who is the villain of the story that will kill her the day of her wedding) but it's on par with Extraordinary You and Lost Romance, it just works. It's very funny, the leads are solid, and if you don't think too hard about it the laws of the novel world make sense (kinda). Overall very refreshing and addictive. It looses its steam at the end but stops right in time and doesn't overstay its welcome.

Addictive chemistry of supporting…I mean main leads

After growing up with love stories of Mary Sue’s heroine being saved by Domineering CEO’s, many rom coms and comics start having “villain” characters being the leads.

And it works. Somehow, it’s always entertaining to watch old fashion troupes being “mocked” at.

In Night of Love with You, our story begins when Qiqi realised that she mistakenly took on the female lead role in a new comic story. Left without any way to contact her comic center supervisor, she tried to move the plot along so the story can restart.

First things first, I particularly have a soft spot for transmigration characters because the characters would typically be smarter or more unapologetically cunning. Qiqi fits the bill of the type of character I like - her monologues on some of the old fashioned moments she’s forced to go through as the “female lead” are funny. Another entertaining thing about transmigration stories are the “fish out of water” moments, especially in the beginning of the stories when the main leads are adapting to a new world. I am able to accept that they’re over-the-top actions or slight arrogance because these characters think they are different anyways. Kudos if the execution of these weird moments are done in a way that humble back the leads - like how Qiqi thought she knew how things work, but eventually realised she was not invincible with her “knowledge”.

Second, the chemistry between her and Leng Yehan is great. While their dynamic is one of the classic romance couples of all, the bickering couple, the chemistry of the actor and actress is there. They challenge each other, they keep up with each other, and they kiss. What’s not to like.

Lastly, the production team made the right decision by making this a short length drama. This makes it easier for me to close 1.5 eyes on the logic plot holes that weren’t addressed - which is mainly the rules of this comic world work.

Hence, for those who are (1) looking for an entertaining short rom com, (2) characters with wit, and (3) bickering couples with chemistry, have your night with Night of Love With You.

Interesting concept

I really liked the idea of the typical villain suddenly becoming the FL in the story. I thought that was well done. The ML was a little bland. I was concerned at the very beginning because the acting was so bad, but once the premise was explained, they settled into their roles. What happens when you suddenly don't have purpose? Maybe my memory is just bad, but I don't think I've seen this done before. It was good that this wasn't a long, drawn-out drama, so it didn't feel that a lot of time was wasted. I watched it on YouTube, so the sound cut out a lot, but thank goodness for subtitles!

Fantastic!

I watched this all in one go and it was fantastic! The plot was strong - it was very fun and meta and mocked all the usual clichés which was great. The acting was good as well and the two main characters Leng Ye Han and Luo Qing had a great dynamic. I really enjoyed watching their relationship develop (thank you Luo Cheng!) and seeing how their interactions changed the plot of the manhua.

While this was a mini drama (and so had a lower budget), it mostly just meant that shooting locations were reused. The special effects were mostly decent (although the blood looked rather fake the couple of times that it was used) but other than those two small complaints, the show was very well executed. 10/10 recommend! Would rewatch at least my favorite scenes.

I am totally in for two baddies being softie for each other

for some reason I really like the motion of being sucked inside a story/being a character of a story that is not the protagonists original character at all. and this one had a cherry on the top!

eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

the only bummer for me is I fall in love with the male main lead and can't find any other works by him ? can anyone suggest some or I have to wait another 2/3 years??

Funny and addictive

Ignore the cheesy title of the show. I found the drama by accident and was hooked instantly. The female lead plays multiple comic book characters usually as the evil secondary character except due to a bug she enters a romance story as a sad and pitiful female lead. Being the vamp that she is, her fiery personality leads to the plot going haywire while she tries her best to fix it.

If you're tired of the usual romance drama tropes then you'll love watching 'Night Of Love With You' tear into them mercilessly and will make you laugh.

This female character is certainly a breath of fresh air compared to the innocent goody two shoes plain Jane female leads. Sit back and relax and enjoy this gem of a drama.

humorous + lighthearted watch !

I was initially drawn to this show due to Liu Xiening, the actress who plays the female lead in this series. I have been a fan of Liu Xiening since her idol days in Gugudan. That being said, I honestly held little expectations for this show. Most series with previous and current idols turn out to be pretty average, with bland storylines and acting skills. I didn't anticipate for this series to be any different; I thought that I would drop the show after a couple of episodes since the synposis didn't seem incredibly unique. Not only that, but I have a super short attention span, so it's common for me to lose interest in watching a drama after a couple of hours/days. I'm rarely able to sit through airing shows because the one-week wait time gradually ceases my interest.

But this time I have to admit that my assumptions were wrong. Not only did I finish the show, but I eagerly refreshed my page each time a new episode was released. While there were some inconsistencies within the show here and there, I would definitely recommend that everyone gives this show a shot. This was a show that gave me a nice laugh every couple of days, and there are so many surprising elements that you would never expect. If you're looking for a short, light-hearted watch, this is the right show for you.

PLOT + STORY:

While this show does take the rather "wholesome" route, there are a couple of different elements involved, which do enough to set it apart from the other fluffy/universe traveling(?) dramas I've watched. While some people have pointed out that this show's concept is similar to 'W: Two Worlds Apart', I think that it is still a bit different, considering that the main female lead (Luo Qing) is a professional comic book character herself.

Not only that, but the drama does lean a *tiny* bit into the crime genre. There isn't much suspense in regards to who the actual perpetrators are, but rather how the characters manage to escape each situation. Keep in mind that it is still a light-hearted show though; a lot of the so-called "mysterious" scenes are come hand-in-hand with a funny joke or occurrence.

In addition, each episode is around 9-15 minutes, so it is only natural that the story lacks in development. The plot speeds by rapidly, so I honestly do question how some relationships manage to escalate so quickly. Thankfully, this wasn't a huge problem with the main leads, therefore it doesn't take away too much from the primary plot. However, be prepared to see a lot of inconsistencies and plotholes. In my (not-so-professional) opinion, the story is paced well in the beginning, but becomes less consistent and more rushed towards the end. Still, as long as you're able to overlook those miniature flaws and hone in on the general storyline, I still believe that it is an enjoyable watch. (And for everyone asking, yes, there is a happy ending!)

CAST + CHARACTERS:

The female lead (Luo Qing) set this show off to an amazing start; her lines are just ICONIC and draw you into watching just to see what else she manages to pull out of her sleeve. Liu Xiening does an outstanding job with her facial expressions, and her confident delivery fits the role perfectly. Compared to her performance in 'Hello Debate Opponent', she has stepped up to a whole new level. If there is anything that I take away from this show, it is definitely Luo Qing's shameless attitude. She slayed.

To be frank, I wasn't quite sold with the male lead (Leng Yehan) at first, but I think that he slowly grew on me. The whole "cold-blooded male lead" just wasn't doing it for me, however, as the relationship between the leads progressed, my attitude towards him changed. The male lead (Leng Yehan) acting more warm and protective towards the female lead (Luo Qing) just seemed more natural to me. Overall, it could be better, but seeing as this is Guan Yue's first drama (that I know of), I think he still has a decent execution. His character becomes more and more lovable through each episode, I promise.

Next is Song Ruoyun, the second female lead. Besides Liu Xiening, I think that Song Ruoyun's actress, Pu Yutong, is another gem on this new cast. Each time Song Ruoyun's face would appear on screen, it would unleash some fury in my brain. If the screenwriters tried to create one of the most menacing characters possible, they certainly succeeded. Song Ruoyun is your standard pesky second female lead, and each scene was wrapped up well. (Not to mention, her character has the best wardrobe of the entire cast, I would kill to have one of her dresses.) Anyways, I hope to see Pu Yutong get opportunities to play bigger roles in the future!

After that, there's Mu Nanchen, the second male lead. Compared to the rest of the characters so far, he's definitely the only "morally upright" person. I definitely see how the screenwriters wanted to portray his role, but I do think that it is rather weak compared to the three mentioned above. The actor, Liu Yakun doesn't utilize many expressions, so it's difficult for me to believe that he truly has feelings for the female lead, Luo Qing. In general, his character just seems really undeveloped, but I guess I can't expect much with such short episodes. I will give him some credit for being a nice male lead though, he isn't incredibly frustrating. After all, he has to somehow balance out the other morally grey characters.

Last but not least, we have Luo Qing's precious and stupid little brother, Luo Cheng. He's my second source of comedic relief in this show, and I'm glad that he consistently appeared in every couple of episodes. His dynamic with his sister (Luo Qing) is just absolute perfection, and I would not have wished for a different portrayal. If romance isn't your cup of tea, maybe consider watching for this ball of sunshine?? And the banter.

FYI, I will mention that the supporting cast/extras of this show are lacking. Delivery? Not on point. Expressions? Non-existent. But does it take away from the show? No, not really. Sometimes I'd see some really bad execution, but I'd only be frustrated for a minute or so before a positive element of the show took my mind off of it.

MUSIC:

I wouldn't say the OSTs are anything *too* special, but they began to offer me a sense of nostalgia as I watched the last two episodes. The opening music is probably my favorite (I'd watch through the opening credits to hear the whole thing). I'm not sure if any of the song selections are playlist-worthy to me, but music is all subjective!

REWATCH VALUE:

Since this show has super short episodes, I will definitely be revisiting it a couple of months/a year down the line. At least, I WILL be watching Luo Qing's scenes because it's a source of free serotonin. It's funny and cute; there's no reason for me to not have these plotlines stuck in my head 24/7.

And if you've somehow read to here, and you're still wondering whether this show is worth it or not, I have two last words for you: WATCH IT.

myself as a writer

so first of all, I am writer..and I was waiting for this drama.. cause guan yue is my personal fav from unine..
as I mentioned as a manga writer,. this story was smooth. imagine writing something like this, a lot of time I ran out of inspiration and sometimes I myself thought to write something like this...

acting was too good.. he acted exactly as a comic character.. <( ̄︶ ̄)>

female lead wasn't a silly girl, phew such a relief..

too catchy story, maybe you wont like it as much I do.. but I didn't regret watching this drama.. really paid off...

Was so much better than other mini series!!

Firstly, i am really not that into such mini series of 4-10 min/epi. but watching this randomly was really really worth for me. i loved the way storyline went cause when i first read the summary i thought it was about -like the remake of the kdrama "W" which was really one of my fav drama. So i thought maybe try it. But it was totally different and the storyline was new to me. so i really really enjoyed watching it.

As for the cast - I hope to see them work on those bigger main drama series. They are really capable of such type of dramas.
