Don't even waste your time with this.

I expected something scary and fun, but this turned out to be so much dumber and unnecessarily gory and grotesque than I could have ever guessed. Doing things only for shock value is the trademark of a crappy plot. You don't bash someone's skull in unless you're a psycho who enjoys killing. It literally makes no sense to have an average high school kid do those types of things when there are so many other much less violent and bloody ways to kill a person (particularly if they're ASLEEP!).

So the parents of a girl bullied to death created a whole ass game, kidnapped a class full of kids, and have been keeping them hostage and unconscious (for goodness knows how long), so they can be killed again and again inside a simulation? The "they were trapped inside a game" trope has to be even worse than the "it was all just a dream" one. Oh, my god, I rolled my eyes so hard at that revelation, I may have permanent damage. Even the "ghost and other supernatural crap" would have been a much more preferable explanation.

Kudos for the actors for actually doing a super solid job, particularly the main girl. But someone come scrub my brain clean of this lame-ass show. I want my seven hours of watchtime back.

One of a kind in kdrama world

A late review... i watched the series as it was airing and it was a whole lot of fun.
The whodunit kept me curious and hooked! I don't understand the negative reviews.

Were the characters good? Nope
See it's a matter of survival and thats brought out the worst in all of them. Humans have animalistic instincts after all. So we should've expect to be able to relate to that simply cuz we haven't been in that situation. But portrayed well and it makes perfect sense.

The ending gives closure while leaving room for season 2. Was it the best possible ending? Maybe
Well compared to other supernatural options this was better.

There's quite some gore so not for the ones scared at the sight of blood.

Good story but the ending disappoints.

The plot was great, each episode keeps you wanting to keep watching episode after episode. The deaths were great, it is a drama that provokes all kinds of emotions in you, you manage to hate some characters, and have empathy for others. using such a cool game like mafia and making it real was wonderful. but the ending was bad, I hope there can be a second season and they manage to escape the game.
Please make a second season and improve the ending you made.
On the other hand, great work by the actors, I loved their performance.

Next Season Release Date

I started this show very casual but it turns to be make me curious and excited for each and every episode.I am interestly waiting for the second season 😍😍😁.I think with low production and it looks greater than Netflix production series. This is last thriller show that I watched in the 2023.But I think the cast will be very new to me even I often watch more than 100 KDramas. So it feels very new feeling when watching this show.I recommend to watch it and I think it make your day Thrillingand enjoyable.

AN ENTERTAINING WATCH

Just finished this and Iam not sure how I feel about the ending to be honest I love the whole idea but it could have been executed a little better otherwise it felt a little lazy and open.

Any ways the story was intriguing and captivating, it has a way of keeping you on your toes as you watched and those little cliff hangers at the end of the episodes always got be excited to watch more...the acting was good from every one but I mainly want to show appreciation to Ahn Jiho ( Da bum) Choi yebin ( Jung Woo) and Choi woomin( Kyung Jun) (They weren't even the first main characters of the show but they did steal the spotlight with their immerse acting, it was crazy yet really impactful...

I just feel like the main roles could have been written a little better the male lead and female leads characters felt a bit bland and boring and to be honest the characters played by the bullies and the so called villains of the show had more complexity and layers and their characters just felt really entertaining to the point that they carried most of the episodes for me.

I also feel like they would have made it a bit longer for proper execution and also to allow us get connected to the characters otherwise some times it felt fast and most characters didn't really leave an impact....or room to connect with the viewers.

Overall if you want something short thrilling and scary( not so much) with nice twists and amazing acting then try this out and decide if the ending is what you wanted or not....

Fun snack show!! but don't use your brain too much or it'll frustrate you

I enjoy this show as I binge watched it. If I was watching it weekly then surely rated this lower than what I have. But what I can say clearly is that I had a fun time while watching w/o using my brains.... they made sure to pick up my adrenaline & kept me on my toes. Cuz in many shows I don't even get excited or feel anything throughout the whole show.

First off all.... the story..... it was good, like the concept of it was interesting but the point is how they should've executed this. Rather than keeping the revenge of parents through simulation all to the last episode, they could've done something else with the whole mafia game concept.

Like that mafia game concept is so brilliant, I love it, but other than that some things seem weird & out of place. Like how the ghost appeared in the vent & many etc...etc.. plot holes.
I'm dissapointed that they didn't use this interesting concept for a full fledged show of either 10 or 12 episodes of 1 hour & gave characters more depth to them & left less of those plot holes.

The characters where not so well written but this show had that factor due to its packed & new type of storyline that intruiged me.

Acting was nice... nothing too grand but good. But that scene in pool where FL pulls ML out of pool after after he was presumed to be dead was probably the best chemistry scene they had throughout the show.

The BGM was not so much there but at the crazy scenes, it did help with the excitement or shock of the scene. This has that fever dream like story aspect to it lol.

Anything,everything all at once

Survival game....Ghost....Sci-fi....Grotesque thriller....teen....revenge

And at last.... I don't think this show has much rewatching value as the story's end gets weird for me & out of place & ruins the vibe I associated with this show in it's earlier episodes.

Well that's all for my personal opinion. Gamsahamnida..nnn..yo ~

Lots of plot twist and an ending that could be better.

The k-drama flows well at the beginning, but from the middle to the end it is loaded with plot twist, which didn't bother me. What I didn't like was the ending. I honestly expected an ending like other series in the same style of night has come, the remaining participants would find out who the mafia is and then they would be free to leave. The ending was bad compared to the entire course of the series. If the k-drama ended like I said, it would be better than that. I gave it a 9.0 because of how the series unfolded until episode 11, which was very good. The performances and the plot twist don't leave anything to be desired either, I liked it a lot. It's worth watching.

A Rollercoaster of Emotions, An Intense Drama with a Twisty plot and a Surprising Ending!!

Mind-Blowing, Breathtaking, Jaw-Dropping and stunning .. those are the only words that I can use to describe the drama, Ngl.. everything was more than perfect .. the thriller, excitement and suspicion on the mafia game, nobody even could recognize who was the Mafia, Police officer, Doctor or Citizen correctly.

I loved the acting, photography and for the actors they all were new faces to me .. but they worked hard & hard (tbh there were some annoying characters that upset me to death)

Everything sound’s perfect right ?? ‘til episode 12 comes .. what is that?? What happened? Honestly, the ending was very disappointing for me and ruined the entire drama !! Okay, I would accept that they weren’t playing the game in real life and it all made by Eun soo’s parents .. but letting them playing the game again and again limitless?? What a revenge !

Anyways, In overall a Must-Watch drama for sure .. If I had the time then and it was possible I would watch all episodes in one day .

Great work actors and actresses,, and all who worked hard for the drama.. for the writer , he needs to learn and improve how to keep the plot perfect and not to ruin everything for the ending :|

Bye Night Has Come .. Unforgettable drama <3

Old Concept with An Interesting Twist

This wasn’t perfect, but did its job in being suspenseful and entertaining.

Right off students on a school trip are forced into a game akin to the Hunger Games. Kill or die. Thinking it was truly just a game the students played until they came to the realization that their vote meant death to a fellow classmate.

I knew this was some type of virtual reality game when the adults disappeared and were never seen again. This was confirmed when the students tried to find a way to escape but found the outside world presented the illusion of an escape when there was none.

Things that annoyed me about the show, the bullies, specifically Kyung Jun and his crew. These guys were utter assholes who despite the situation didn’t even attempt to make nice to save their own lives. In fact they were worse than ever. Thus, in reality they should’ve been the first ones voted out the building but somehow they managed to survive for most of the series. Most of the students not questioning what was going on and why. Once they realized they had to kill to survive they did it without question with only Yeon Su questioning the why behind what was happening and investigating to find the truth.

Other questions, how long had these kids been tortured in this virtual game? Was no one looking for them? Where were their families? How did they even get to the game room to be put into this virtual reality? How long did Se Eun’s parents plan to continue their revenge?

I could understand them wanting to take revenge on those who drove their daughter to suicide. However, their method was too much. Moreover, they also blamed those who weren’t aware of their daughter’s pain and punished them too, but failed to extend that punishment to themselves. They did not take into account their own ignorance about her struggle which was hypocrisy at its worst considering how they were punishing those who were just as ignorant as them about what was going on.

Though concept is not new , Thw writers did a good job keeping it entertaining and suspenseful and the acting was strong. This is not the type of series I’d rewatch, but despite its issues it was good and worth the watch.

Could have been extremely good if the ending was not so messed up and weird

Side note before I dive in : I've started watching it since the day it was first aired so as to say : December 4th,2023

So until the very last episode EVERYTHING was extraordinary good, even if they were little things that were off-logical yet you could really overlook it, it's insignificant !
Then came that damn episode in which everything was messed up, done weirdly, it went from a ghost thing to a very weird Aib (Alice in borderland) remake with crazy parents. Then I beared everything through the whole episode hoping (not really) it woud turn out good but no, they even messed it up deeper lmao. Writers really lost it at that point T-T. Then I went to hoping the series would end up there but no ! Writers really like to torture us to the point the ending was hinting at a season 2. I hope they won't be one because apart of remaking the same thing with this time that always whimpering, annoying FL who in her (really bad)way will try to make her classmates know abt what she knows abt the game and will obviously try to fight back the crazy parents I don't see what could happen. I seriously feel like it would be a never ending circle.
I'm now done tackling the story and that last episode that plummetted my rate and even now as I'm writing this review I don't know how to rate it but I think if I end up giving it a 1, understand that it's because this ending is the worst you could ever have seen in the cinema industry. I don't get why people are rating it so high. Plus the way Viki fooled us and never mentionned it was some kind of science-fiction/ fantastic (yet not really )series...

CHARACTERS

The cast is INCREDIBLE ! Especially gyeong jun's actor. I love him sm, even more after this new series of him. He is very talented. He went from that cute and bubbly character in "Tasty Florida" to that psycho bully in "night has come". Btw I'm still waiting for an explanation on why he was crying alone after he litteraly killed a character lmfao. Then Jeong won really absolutely gained my heart at the end, I kinda shipped her with FL tbh. Then ML, I liked him at the beggining he was just incredible in all aspects. But after, he started to just be mean or would see things and promise to help and end up doing nothing or just ignore the bad things happening in front of him and move on like-. Plus he only cares abt FL.

Let's move on our dear bestie, aka FL. I really loved the idea of having a badass female but this one directly to the bin ! Like first she would be whimpering everytime, going to dark and remote places alone, keeps hints for her and when the timing would be absolutely good to set herself up (accidentaly yet in the dumbest way) she would judge it good to tell the others abt those hints she has found. Also she would be acting as a detective taking photos but sis. What's the point when you don't even use those photos you've taken or those clues you've collected ??? Da Beom is the perfect epitome of "don't trust people by looks" lmao. Then the bullying plot abt se-eun at the end is very weird since litteraly EVERYONE could tell it was fake but here it is...

Now let's move another topic : The music ! I don't really remember the OST since it was basically just theme musics but it was well put and in the good situations. Shout out to the writers for using the purge alarm tho. I really appreciated as a fan of the American Nightmare series <3.

To conclude, I would not recommend you to watch it unless you stop at the episode before the last one and leave it there eventhough you would feel like you miss something to end it.

AMOGUS

High school students play the mafia game. Cool, we all played the game in high school. Except people really do get killed. The mafias killing them are among them and they have to vote out these mafias, who would ALSO actually die. Basically among us in real life - minus the tasks.
Now this is a plot which is bound to attract viewers. Fresh storyline, fresh actors, keeps people on the edge of their seat - it's pretty much set up to become a hit. The only problem that can possibly arise is poor execution. And that is exactly what happened here.

*ACTORS*:
The actors were mostly those I had never seen before (except the one who played Oh Jung Won, who I believe is that one girl from Penthouse). Assuming that it was one of their initial projects, they did a pretty good job. That bully guy tho - he did a really good job pissing me off. Great acting skills fr.

*STORY*:
Boy when I tell you that this drama is a huuuge missed opportunity. It had MASSIVE potential -it started out strong and would have easily become a huge success had it not crumbled in the latter half. It was as if the writer got a really great idea and started writing excitedly, then ran out of ideas on how to further develop the premise of the whys and hows and just.... finished it off. A few things I would like to point out, MAJOR SPOILERS ahead so continue reading only if you have seen the drama in its entirety:

1. The children got used to the game too quickly for my liking. I guess that was required to condense everything in 12 episodes, but they should have dwelled on their confusion, despair and thought processes, which they didn't. They could have made use of that main bully's acting skills when they showed him crying in one of the initial episodes, so that viewers could better understand the shock and distress everyone was going through.

2. What was the point of ML's backstory? To add a little conviction to his very anticlimactic "death"? If yes, then it unfortunately didn't serve the purpose very well.

3. The entire Se-eun situation - The last ep was pretty much dedicated to this and I believe it was supposed to act as an explanation as to whatever happened but it seems pretty half baked and only leaves us with further questions. For instance, how did Se-eun's parents manage to gather those children in the first place? Was it that game notification everyone received? What about those children's parents then? What on earth are they doing? Why are Se-eun's parents also targeting those who weren't even aware about the whole Se-eun scandal? How blinded by revenge were they that they dragged in innocent children to suffer their wrath too? I'm sorry but the whole 'those-who-do-nothing-while-others-are-bullied-and-stay-silent' argument isn't very convincing tbh. What kind of an investigation took place that they could not track down who made that scandalous video? If Se-eun's parents have enough money and resources (so much so that they got into every one of their daughter's classmate's brain to make them suffer), how did they allow it to be swept under the rugs?

4. "Make the bullies suffer as she did" was the whole premise and yet it wasn't carried out satisfactorily. Not once do the bullies connect their wrongdoings to their circumstances, not once do they feel bad about their actions, not once do they regret doing what they did. Instead, innocent children got PTSD from witnessing their friends die, as if having one friend suicide wasn't enough.

All in all, it was a good watch but the ending was SO unsatisfying that it became yet another average drama.

P.S: What's with all those Kyung Jun and Yoon-Seo edits on youtube lmaoo?! Where on earth do people even get such ideas +_+
