One of the most beautiful things I've ever saw in my whole life

As a gay men dealing with depression and suicidal tendencies my whole life, the last episode of this show hitted me like nothing EVER did
Not only the actors on it are perfect, but the main message of the show is simply life changing. I really hope this show gets the recognition it deserves!
I cried like a baby for hours and hours after watching it for the first time

Even tho the show is really cute and and funny from the first episode untill the 6th, it takes a new direction I really never saw it coming the last 2 episodes. The ending is so sweet. Myung Ha and Yeo Woon receiving the love and care they both always wanted is such a beautiful message. I didn't feel the plot messy or confusing in any way.
A must see, definetly

New standard!

Totally exceeded my expectations! K-bl starting to lose its spark last year, everything just goes downhill after the eighth sense and our dating sim released, because those two became the standard, the bar is so HIGH, making other series is nothing compared to them. BUT! Love for love's sake is just so good, it surpassed the bar! Or even better, they raising the bar!

The only minus from this series is its duration. It's too short for delivering such a complex storyline. The series itself is already good but there's still some confusing part like the explanation of why myung ha got transferred to game world, sang won's feeling development towards myung ha, and also who's that person that myung ha called 'sunbae'. It feels like everything just floating around without proper explanation.

If only they make it longer.. 10 episodes would be perfect! At least they got another ±50 minutes to explain it more thoroughly.

But overall, it's good. it's MORE than good actually. So so so good. 2024 k-bls after LFLS are gonna STRUGGLE bc the bar once again has been lifted higher than last time!

For the acting, i don't have anything to complain! Total superb. Also hands down to the casting staff, they choose the perfect myung ha and yeo woon!

Lee Taevin potrayed Myung Ha so perfectly! The emotions reach me thru the screen! I can feel how frustrated and sad myung ha is! His eyes just speaks! Very good acting!

Cha Joowan.. i— i am so satisfied with him as Yeo Woon. His acting is so good! He's just soooo precious like he can deliver how vulnerable yeo woon can be when he's around myung ha. And not to mention how puppy he is T_T

My favorite scene is totally when he begs.

Oh, also, i LOVE the little kisses T_T on the lips, on the cheek, I love all! It's so cute +_+ and for the REAL kiss, it's an easy top 5 best kiss of entire K-BL kiss. I don't actually want to mention this but, the way yeo woon smile in between their kiss is justtt givee a bit more flavor to the kissing scene itself and I've been crazy about it for these past few days!! They ate, totally ate.

That's it for me!

I didnt exepect I will invest my feeling for this series.

Accidentally stumbled acrosss and find this series, honestly I saw some shorts on but it was really not much doesnt gave me mood to watch it. But i was bored so I think I wanted to try this series and I didnt expect this series would hits me this much.

(PROS) :
- Story : Very unexpected storyline, altough I literally tought it just basic romance story line with a game stuff?? I almost gave up until I find out Yeowoon story. I feel sad and I stay for his story. But again, expect the unexpected from this series. This series really not playing with the plotline.

-Acting/Cast: Everyone in this series does amazing job. But kuddos for Lee Tae Vin & Cha Joo Wan, they really all-in with their character which makes me invest so much with this two character. I want to hug Yeowoon so bad. T_T

(CONS) :
- Music/OST : I felt like this series seems doesnt have a proper Original Sound Track. T___________T
You know theres many scene that if they have their own ost it would makes it memorable. Well most of them is already memorable imo even without OST. But I think OST will definetly works like icing on the cake for this series. This series is already done really well, very well. But OST really really matters to the audience feelings. :)))))))

!!

Heartfelt, Earnest and Well-Performed

This is one of those rare dramas where I really have no notes. It’s really hard to comment when the narrative is nailed so effectively.

It’s really this beautiful story about self-love, found family and the enrichment people add to our lives. There are some sci-fi elements but they are very well done, the effects are solid and overall it enhances the story.
The acting is really great, you know it’s solid when you just get completely soaked into the character’s emotions. The leads have good chemistry and complement each other very well.
I was really amazed by Cha YeoWoon’s performance. His first impression is so murky, just a character at his absolutely lowest and his eyes express so much sadness. When he finally breaks down it’s like release since he’s been keeping it all pent up. And when he finally starts to build social nets, he GLOWS. It’s like his whole aura changes literally and figuratively, it’s incredible.

Music is used well. The right music at the right time and quiet when scenes need to breathe.

The ending was perfect. It flipped the narrative just enough to fully drive home the message this story was trying to tell.

Do yourself a favor and watch this.

I... am speechless

I just finished this and not gonna lie, I am in shambles. What the hell was this and why did no-one warn me?? I was expecting it to be all cute and simple, Our Dating Sim-style, a nice little watch for the weekend before starting uni again, and here I am, 1AM and crying over a videogame character. That's just great.
I wasn't expecting it to be good at all - I initially watchlisted it because I watched Boys Planet and Woongki (the guy who plays Kyung Hoon) was in it and I loved him. But oh my God I got so invested, I actually watched five episodes one after the other in one go.

Things I liked (a lot):
- Acting. It was AMAZING- the two main leads have a lot of emotional scenes, and they handled them perfectly. Their acting was so natural it didn't take me out of the story at all. The rest of the characters were pretty one-dimensional, but I liked their performances as well. Woongki is so cute with those glasses, I hope he stars in more series.
- Story. It's bizarre as fuck, you don't see it coming at all (as I mentioned already), you think you're signing up for a cutesy romance series and you end up having an existential crisis. The videogame premise is super interesting, virtually not like anything I've ever seen before, and it adds a lot of stakes and pressure to the situation. You also start not knowing what tf is going on (why is he talking to that dude, are they friends? Why is he in this game? etc), and eventually (kind of) figure it out. My interpretation of the weird-ass ending was that he'd k*lled himself and he'd been in a sort of limbo while he was playing the game, and that dude was Death and was giving him a second chance to fall in love and be happy. I liked that. Hell, I'm not one to enjoy stress, but between this and The Bear it seems like I might like it more than I thought.
- Romance. It's slow, it's cute, and seeing Yeowoon grow to love Tae Myung was so entertaining - his little smile towards the end whenever they were together made me so happy. Them getting together and it not being that big of a deal was actually kind of refreshing, like I kept waiting for a big confession scene but before I knew it they were breaking up lol

Things I'm on the fence about:
- That being said, the story can be a little bit confusing at times. Maybe I'm just slow lol, but it seemed like there were some loose ends? Like that A or B choice he had to make at the hospital, after failing to choose between his grandma and Yeowoon - the second one. I don't remember what it was, but he had a time limit, and I don't think he actually chose anything? And then: at the end, Yeowoon is in his room and finds the pen and wants to save him, but I don't really get what he actually did? Did he save Tae Myung? Was that why he was revived? I'm guessing that version of the story got deleted, and that's why he wasn't in absolute shambles when Tae Myung called him at the end, so what was that for? Idk, the ending had me crying and everything but I was also a bit lost.
- The AGE GAP. Was that really necessary? Just have him be 20, you can be depressed at 20 (trust me, I know). No need for him to be a DECADE older than his counterpart. I GUESS he's 19 in the videogame, but mentally he's still 29, and he treats Yeowoon like a kid. That was funny at first, when they were becoming friends, but later on it felt weird as shit. I didn't really like that.
- I guess some of the charactarizations were also confusing at times, like for example: is Yeowoon a sad, lonely loser or is he a star of the track team with a ton of followers and brand deals raining on him? Is Tae Myung a bad boy who intimidates all the bullies or is he a nice guy that never uses violence? I never understood why they were so scared of him.
- That's more of a nitpick, but the breakup almost at the end wasn't necessary. You just hurt Yeowoon more than was needed and you shoot yourself in the foot in the process. Great.

Conclusion: amazing, showstopping, never seen before. Would absolutely recommend. I'm now contemplating how sad and meaningless my life is, which. Great.

A new favorite drama

I started watching this drama without knowing a thing about the story so every moment of it was completely surprising for me since the beginning! It's a very unit plot with actors that gave life to the characters so well that I couldn't stop looking at the screen. It also has such a beautiful meaning behind the story, so it can make us reflect about ourselves and how we see the world.
It went straight from an unknown drama to my favorite one in just 3 days. I'm really hoping for another one about Kyunghoon or Sangwon, or even a season two for the main couple, both would be amazing!

This KBL was a masterpiece!

Very recommended to watch it! I really love it and I still can't move on from this, this is my favorite Korean BL Drama forever! The plot was so intense and unpredictable, what a masterpiece! Great job!?

A little off about it is the broadcasting, I think that if you make 2 episodes per week that will be perfect because there's a lot of cliffhanger there and it will gain popularity because of assumptions and predictions of the drama but over all it's okay!

Love for love's sake is not just a normal bl but it was a masterpiece because of the story, cast and production. I hope for season 2 because the happy ending scenes was so short I need more episodes of them being happy together!??

STOP DOZING OFF AND GIVE IT A GO!

Stop dozing off and just give it a go! When I first watched the initial three minutes of this show, I was taken aback by the gaming-type window. I wondered about its relevance in a BL series, as I was expecting raw emotions and a connection to the real world. However, I finally decided to give it a chance, and I must tell you, I finished the entire series in one sitting. This show was mesmerizing, a complete piece of art, masterfully crafted, I must say probably the best BL series of the past 3 years! I found almost everything here. The chemistry was good too, and it’s relatable if you’re going through rough times. It’s a timeless tale!

Just give it a try… I will definitely rewatch this in the future! Kudos to the production team, the writer, the director, and obviously, our beloved actors!

So unique!

The plot is so creative; it's one of the best plots I've ever watched in BLs, actually. Making reality into a game was a genius move; it allowed the authors to get carried away with reactions, plot twists, and mysteries without them not making any sense or being random, because after all, no matter what would come on, it would have to make sense since it's in the game. Even slightly cringeworthy moments or characters' rushed development were totally fine, because they could've been a bit caricaturized. However! That didn't make the story all fluffy, boring, or lacking. I absolutely loved the background for the little love story of Myungha and Yeowoon, especially that out-of-the-box ending. Although I still feel like we could've been provided with more information about the game itself, etc., I wholeheartedly hope for a spin-off. Watching all these dramas, you can notice how most of them don't bring anything to the table—this series totally does. Creative, interesting, engaging storylines; amazing acting; outstanding visuals (I loved how the director provides viewers with shots typical for video games; it just makes the whole experience even more enjoyable). There's nothing tired or corny about it. They served quality AND quantity, since that's one of the longest KBLs we've got so far. Honorable mention for music; it was one of the best soundtracks I've heard in BLs. The only con I could think of is, as I've stated prior, the lack of disclosure regarding the author of the game, how the game works, how it is controlled, and how he managed to stay inside—but that doesn't make the show any less great and it's not like it was absolutely necessary for the author to touch upon those things; it just makes me hope for a second season.

Encapsulates the best kind of kdrama feelilngs

I really enjoy the lead characters and their journeys individually and together as friends and as a couple. The conceit of the gaming mechanics guides them to grow their relationship organically. I really like how though there are general goals and issues to resolve, it's still up to Myung Ha how he proceeds and how he treats Yeo Woon and everyone else. It's so refreshing to see the two actually spend time as a couple and that they have the tasteful amount of kisses and physical intimacy. The handholding is always so warm and cute.

The opening episodes while Myung Ha is learning the ropes of his situation are so hilarious and I love how the stakes are tangible and that's what drives the angst rather than ridiculous misunderstandings that a lot of other stories drag out the story with, no matter the run time. I really like how the internal lore explains the situation that Myung Ha is in as well. I love how the ending lets both Yeo Woon and Myung Ha make their own choices, such a lovely ending of second chances to live life with love, romantic, platonic, and familial.

The show has very nice editing, sound, lighting, and cinematography, being cinematic without being distractingly ostentatious. The show definitely makes the best use of it's probably small budget. At 8 episodes and half hour runtime, the show makes use of every second and is streamlined to all the most important parts of the storytelling. This does mean only lightly delving into the side characters and the stalker subplot, but it doesn't detract from the story at all. I'm here for the main characters and there is enough character interactions with the others to build the world.

The pacing is fantastic and the developments makes it very easy to binge like all the best of kdramas are. Definitely worth a watch for anyone in search of a good drama.
