Yutaro serves as a lion instead of a sudden sick person. Meiko hears from Oshizu about playing with Shozo. Oshizu remembers that Shozo gave her harmonica as a girl. After becoming a geisha, she met him again and forcibly became her second wife. In a quarrel with Kazue, Kazue tells Oshizu that she can leave if she was forced into this marriage. Meiko puts Oshizu's affection on her feelings for Yutaro.
On the other hand, Takemoto Yuzo appears at the city hall!
