Risou no Musuko

Suzuki Umi (Suzuki Kyoka) raised her son Daichi (Yamada Ryosuke) singlehandedly while she worked. Daichi is a high school student and mummy’s boy who has been raised as the perfect, obedient son. He loves his mother and is a high achiever who tries desperately to please her while getting rid of the men who come to woo her. One day, Umi starts on a new part-time job. However, it is at the cafeteria of an all-boys high school that is notorious in the area for its troublemakers. Determined to protect his mother from them, Daichi quits the prestigious preparatory school that he has been attending without seeking Umi’s permission and decides to put himself in that school. However, the adorable, high-achieving Daichi is like a meek lamb thrown into a den of wolves.

This is my first review... And I have to say I only have good things to say about this drama....

Firstly the pace of the drama is just amazing, there are no unnecessary scenes or any dragging on.

The plot is cute and the characters are cute even though they are supposed to be ruffians. the only thing I must warn you about is the fact that it is a bit unrealistic but that just adds to the comedy of the whole drama so I see it as a good point.

I thought the actors have a good grasp of their characters and so the acting is good. About the cast; Yamada Ryosuke and Yuto Nakajima are members of the popular jhonny group Hey Say Jump and another you may have come across in the you're beautiful Japanese remake Ikemen Desu Ne is Fujigaya Taisuke who is a member of the recently debuted group kis my ft2. So all fans of Hey Say Jump and Kis my ft2 can unite to watch this comedy drama. Yamada's acting is very convincing, especially when it comes to his relationship with his mother!

Another bonus is Hey Say Jump's newest single 'Super Delicate' is the theme song for this drama and I have to say I personally like it very much.

I know for a fact that once I have finished this drama I will rematch it if I want to have
a laugh... It's definitely on my favourite drama of the year list and favourite drama of
all time!

Overall I enjoy this drama and I really don't want to see it end. it's cute, not as violent as expected and full of laughs. You will actually root for this non romantic relationship between the mother and son. read more

To be honest, I only started watching this because of Yamada Ryosuke. I really liked him from Hidarime Tantei eye,so i was looking forward to this drama ever since it was it was announced to be released. It has plenty of fight scenes, and the use of graphics and its quality was very impressive.Acting and Cast was good, specially the main characters; they were great. I loved the twisted and strange love between the mother and son. and for all those Yamada fans, it got great footage of bishounen Yamada :D

A downside of the drama is that it is fairly predictable. The previews pretty much told the story of the next episode. The drama stretches the realism, a LOT. For me , this drama is not the type that I will re watch.

So, if you are looking for something funny with action and a bishounen guy, I would really recommend this. but be warned, it is very unrealistic. read more

The story lines are different, but the styles are the same. Both the male leads are high school guys who act "cute" and challenge traditional notions of masculinity. Both dramas also focus on the relationship between kids and parents.

In both dramas it's about an all boys high school with full of delinquents and troublemakers. And suddenly a new face comes to school and the school starts to change.

So funny. Every episode has a message, a new friend, and hence and new animal. I started this drama on a whim, but fell in love with it instantly. Love Yama, Taipi, and Yuto here!

I think Yama-chan, Taipi and Yuto fit really well with their characters (Yama-chan’s sweetness, Taipi’s toughness and Yuto’s cowardliness, lol)

Just finished watching the first three episodes and I gotta say, it's really funny and I'm really curious about how it'll turn out! Even though there are some lame moments, there are others that are just so funny and interesting that I gotta keep watching ^o^ I think it's worth watching :)

Only watched 1 episode so far, but it's really good. Haven't seen a good jdrama like this one in a while. It's entertaining and kind of touching too. It teaches the value of respecting your mother since most kids fail to realize how much mothers do for their children.

I've only seen the first episode so far but I thought it was pretty funny. The actor and actress that play the mother and son play off each other's acting skill pretty well. I like it.
