great movie dealing with an extremely sensitive subject matter.

my one gripe with it was that it gets very uncomfortable to watch (trigger warnings all over the place) as the movie tends to be extremely graphic when describing and showing the type of abuse suffered by these children.

if you can stomach it, go for it.

    1)The reason i watched this :
I have a psychiatrist friend that insisted on watching this movie, she already knows that i don't mind any kind of special story no matter how horrific it is; i was fully prepared to any kind of scenes and so i watched it.

    2)Storyline/Plot :
They weren't kidding when they said "This movie contains EXTREMELY graphic child abuse! Do not watch if you are easily disturbed.", i intentionally repeated it bcz this movie isn't directed to all types of audience, even if u are an adult u can easily be disturbed.

    *Positive points :
*It a true story that focus on a world wide issue: a great topic.
*The producer wasn't affraid of showing the horrible fact to the audiance.

I have never been so upset in a movie before than now. I know that cruelty exist in our world but how come the media/society have no say in this matter? I thought even if it's only a rumor it will marred one's individuality? So, why on earth those sick individual redeem their jobs afterall the things that happened puzzle me! South Korea needs to let their old leaders retire ASAP or make a review on their judicial system.

The most horifying thing i have ever watched. The hardest part is that this is real. It happened to real people and they're still fighting for justice. These people are still out there.

i cant seem to get it into my head that this is a real story, and that it really happened O.O

And what annoys me even more is that such people dare call themselves educators....bring a shame to human kind and the profession whose purpose is to build edify help develop and not destroy and humiliate. This really makes me angry.

Reality is sickening. And unfortunately this movie does reality justice. I do not know how to rate this, it is not a film that I consider ratable just by its very nature. It doesn't gloss over, it is painful, and it is true. It brutally shows what hapened in that school, as if somehow was trying to give those poor kids some justice, itls really heartbreaking and it will make you angry. I will leave it on my lists without a rating. I say watch this and learn what reality is like. The movie does not hold back, for certain - it is graphic, so graphic that it is likely to make your heart stop. But- such is reality. Bastards, but it made a point as Ashu said below. It made such a very strong point that the case of got reviewed...but is it an isolated case? But at least it does draw serious attention to these problems and can make a tremendous impact. It's calling people to wake up.

    This movie... made me angry.
    I didn't cry one tear.
It's not the type of story, the type of facts to be sad about, it's the type to be angry about.

This was such a master piece. The child actors really played their role well and to think that such a thing happened in real life.. it's really shocking. To be honest, I don't really care about the rating. If you are mature enough to watch things like this then I sayw go for it. But if you have a fragile heart, I don't reccomend watching this.

I wasn't even halfway through this movie, and I was crying so much. It was too painful. . . How can there be such inhumane creatures in this world? No offence, but Korea really needs to do something about their Justice System. I'm so frustrated that all I can do right now is talk.

Korea needs to do something? Korea isn't the only country who struggles with their routines. Justice is subjective, and the boundaries are stretched even more when corruption is involved. There will never be a truly just sentence in cases where human lives are ruined, but regardless of this I agree that the sonsovbishes should've gotten a little more time...

I really really wanted to watch this, but the comments and reviews got me freaked out. ._.

i get that some people wanted to watch this movie because of Gong Yoo, but if you're not 18+, or better yet 21+, then be warned to be shocked by some scenes.

I'm 17 right now. I don't really think my reaction will be any different today than it will be in 8 months. There's a limit to how much someones mentality can change in that short amount of time.

If someone could just pm me and explain exactly how the scenes are shocking, that'd be a help, right? Is it visually strong in terms of abuse or? What should one expect?

If u didn't watch it yet , I advise you to skip this one ! Don't watch it just out of curiosity ! The scenes are way too detailed and explicit that you will want to throw up ! They say 18+ but I'm 21 , I don't think this movie is suitable for anyone who is under 21 ! It will most definitely disturb your mental health !

I already watched it, and if anything I'm feeling more sane than ever. :X

I think it's a really important movie to help people understand what kind of evil people actually face even as often as everyday. This movie portrayed it better than anything else. Yes it was brutal, yes it was painful to watch, but it's the only way to shine light upon an important matter that definitely can't be ignored and make people realise how terrifying and scary it really is.

This movie serves a purpose, and it actually stirred up so much rage with the korean population that the original childrens case got a second review.

If you're scared to watch it because it's detailed and accurate, then you're scared of life itself. This is how things like this happens, without being covered up and made look more pretty. If anything, this makes me understand victims on a whole new level than before.
