☆My Favorite Asian Movies of all times☆
- These movies have a special place in my heart, they are ♥ ᖰꞅⲉⲥⲓσᥙട ♥
It is either because they hit my emotions so hard, made me a happy memory by simply watching them, or left an impression that never dies (ಥ ͜ ಥ)
Although not all are necessarily listed on top films to watch, I guarantee that they are WELL-MADE, UNIQUE, BEAUTIFUL, and MEMORABLE ✮✮
Edit: I just realized that all the movies I love are so bleak XD

1. Memories of Murder
Korean Movie - 2003
A must-watch classic
This is one of the very first k-movies I've ever watched. Some scenes are still vivid in my mind because of how raw and shocking they felt. I don't care how many successful movies Bong Joon Ho makes, but this will remain his most brilliant one.

2. The Throne
Korean Movie - 2015
A Masterpiece in every sense of the word!
Never ever have I been traumatized, LITERALLY, by a movie as it has been with The Throne. A movie that excels in depicting one of the most tragic stories in Korean history and focuses every element to convey the humane aspect of it (the relation between a father king Yeongjo and his son Crown prince Sado). Brilliant in every aspect from its writing to storytelling method to the powerful acting to cinematography to music that totally fit the ambiance of the movie and speaks the tragedy. Yoo Ah In's performance here is simply unforgettable, I was wailing for months because of it.

3. Bleak Night
Korean Movie - 2011
The amount of frustration this film manages to build through just simple dialogues, the acting of a newbie cast, and humble yet delicate camera work is insane! It depicts loneliness in a way that will create a lump in your throat and leave you suffocating, bewildered, and conflicted.
This is the excellent debut of director Yoon Sung Hyun, and one of the best K-indie films.

4. Us and Them
Chinese Movie - 2018
I was in a state of big denial after watching this movie. Calling it bittersweet is not fair because it's more on the painful side. I understand it but it frustrates me as hell because it's hard to accept. Regardless, It's still one of the best, most captivating, most anguish flaring romance movies I've ever seen.

5. Will You Be There?
Korean Movie - 2016
-
6. Han Gong Ju
Korean Movie - 2014
-
7. Vanishing Time: A Boy Who Returned
Korean Movie - 2016
A rollercoaster of emotions!
-
8. Time to Hunt
Korean Movie - 2020
What might sound like an average thriller happens to move a lot inside of me. The more I contemplate on this movie, the more it seeps into my soul and strikes. Disguised in its stylish setting and nerve-wracking thrill, I believe this movie tells a lot about the fears of confronting life. I believe no one can deliver this depth and direct actors to show this plenty of emotions as directer Yoon Sung Hyun does. It's truly a pleasure to witness this cast in this work!

9. Sympathy for Lady Vengeance
Korean Movie - 2005
A stylish gory revenge story that is surprisingly very artistic (my favorite out of Park Chan Wook's trilogy).
-
10. The Wailing
Korean Movie - 2016
IMO, This is the best horror thriller movie Korea could ever make!

Injustice and desperation in a comedy. Dark and gory but very pleasing to the eyes. A clever movie that went under the radar of many!
