This is a fantastic romance/revenge miniseries in a historical era setting. The series is fast paced with a well developed plot, great cinematography and choreography, The OST is nice and it complements the drama well. The cast did a great job bringing their characters to life and the leading couple complemented each other very well and had passionate, tender chemistry that got better and better as the drama progressed. Although minidramas have the tendency to show marked jumps from one episode to another, this drama did quite well in trying to maintain the flow within its complicated plot. Mommy’s Counterattack is a nice miniseries. Although it is not an award winning miniseries, it is quite entertaining. The actors did a good job bringing their characters to lie and the leading couple developed a fairly good chemistry within the restrains of plot and length of the drama. Some of the supporting cast were not up to par with their character’s role but they it was not awful as to deter the viewer from enjoying the short drama. The storyline could’ve benefited from several more episodes and lengthier duration but, overall, it is a fast paced and enjoyable watch.

This is my third rewatch since I saw this drama in 2015 and I decided to write a review now. This is a very good romance drama that, although not perfect, it has a beautiful romantic story that started in college, suffers a 7 year hiatus, but remains strong and steadfast in the hearts and souls of the leading couple. The cast did a great job bringing their characters to life and the leading couple has great chemistry. I must say that the leading young couple [Luo Yun Xi (as He Yi Chen) and Janice Wu (as Zhao Mo Sheng)] at the beginning of the drama did a phenomenal job playing the leading characters and beautifully paved the path for Wallace Chung (as He Yi Chen) and Tiffany Tang (as Zhao Mo Sheng) to continue the wonderfully played love story. The supporting cast did well also and Viola Mi (as Xiao Xiao) and Eric Le Yang (as Lu Yuan Feng) were fun and refreshing to watch. The OST is great! Overall, although there are some annoying and not so well develop issues in the drama, mostly the invalid divorce and English “speaking” characters, the drama excel in the romance plot execution. This mainland China version is also a great rendition of the original “Fated To Love You” drama. Even though the drama has some minor differences that make the story a little bit distinctive, the main plot remains the same. This adaptation doesn’t have the farce characterization with absurd type comedy. The actors did a great job bringing their characters to life and the leading couple has very good and credible chemistry. The leading couple brought about a good range of emotions and really tugged at the heartstrings with their melodramatic rendition of a couple that went through immense loss and suffering. Overall, this drama is very entertaining. Enjoy it!

By far, the best "Fated to Love You" remake version out there! Although this drama keeps the farce comedic genre, it is toned down compared to the original Taiwanese version making the drama better balanced between the comedy and romance. This version also has a unique storyline for the male lead but the overall plot follows the original story. The tear jerking moments are heart tugging and memorable. There is a fantastic gradual and consistent character growth for the leading couple who has great chemistry and did a phenomenal job bringing their characters to life. Although Lee Gun's laugh is annoying sometimes, I really like how he performed his character on this version. Jang Na Ra was perfect as Kim Mi Young. Enjoy it!

(Update after first rewatch 11/8/2023): This is a very good romantic comedy. The leading actors had good chemistry and, Zhu Ya Wen (as Zheng Chu), made this series worth watching. Zheng Chu (played by Zhu Ya Wen) comes out as an aloof and childish man whose character throughout the drama remains faithful to his overall persona: a loyal friend, familial stronghold, and a wonderful caring and steadfast lover with an incredible sense of humor. On the other hand, there is the leading lady, Su Mang (played by Wang Li Kung) that comes out as a domineering tigress but has a heart of gold and equally loyal and steadfast toward her loved ones. The drama lost one star because, at the end, there was a tragic twist to one of the supporting characters that was completely unnecessary to use just for the sake of the selfish, conniving, and insufferable Chen Shan Shan (played by Ma Qiu Zi). Overall, although I am not satisfied with some side storylines, this drama is well written for the leading couple with great bantering, slow burned but beautiful love story, and a very good ending. Enjoy it!

This drama is fantastic; a more realistic interpretation of modern perspectives on relationships and marriage. This is a star studded drama that is not only well written but also excellently executed by the main and supporting cast. The drama is full of insightful and meaningful conversations that harmonize perfectly with the raw and thoughtful emotions of the three main couples in the drama. Each couple handled and performed their story in a very realistic and emotional way even when the real emotions were not easily perceived by their loved ones. The drama has a lot of wounded souls that got together, loved together, and healed together to become a strong support for each other. The development of each couple’s journey was sometimes heartbreaking to see but it was also the process that culminated in a better understanding of each other and a more profound and steadfast love. One character that is insightfully written and fantastically performed is Kim Hyun Ja [Ji Ho's mother] played by Kim Sun Young. Overall, this drama is insanely great and entertaining, enjoy it!

My Lovely wife is a cute miniseries with a fake couple turned into real lovers storyline. This kind of story needed lengthier episodes for character development and a well elaborated revenge plot. The writing is choppy and the story lacks fluidity. Although the leading couple has a nice playful chemistry, their intimate scenes lack a sense of strong mutual attraction; still, the leading couple’s relationship is the best element of this drama since, for the rest, the acting was lousy, for the most part. The plot on this drama is simple but the antagonists were outrageous and laughable. Probably the worst character in this drama is the grandfather and his shenanigans, especially toward the male lead. Overall, there is nothing that is worthy of rewathching.

Lighthearted, refreshing, and fun!

Wrong Carriage Right Groom is such a great, invigorating, and fun romantic comedy. The plot is full of intrigue that gives both leading couples the opportunity to showcase their strengths and their steadfastness toward each other. Although the first leading couple’s (Li Yu Hu and Qi Tian Le) storyline has an insufferable antagonist, their relationship and the ways that they support each other are really nice and refreshing to watch. The second leading couple’s (Du Bing Yan and Yuan Bu Qu) relationship, although a bit more toned down because of their roles and personalities, develops naturally and is very nice to see them work together and remain faithful to their committed love for each other. The plot also includes other interesting characters and couples that are nice and interesting to watch. The couples have great chemistry and, even though their intimate scenes are not torridly passionate, the actors did well showing their love and care for each other. Overall, this drama is a breath of fresh air set in a historical setting with very likable characters and a fun storyline. Enjoy it!

This is a cute drama that uses a sport-centric (air pistol shooting) setting with emphasis on psychological elements having the main leads working together and supporting each other through the healing process. As for the leading couple’s romance, the drama just offers a cute, fluffy, and steadfast relationship and how, years later, they try to navigate through PTSD from an unfortunate event that happened when they were in high school. There are two other couples that also had to handle psychological issues in other to resolve whether they stay together or separate. Although the leading couple has a nice playful chemistry, the healing process took the entire drama’s duration and the viewer doesn’t get to see how the couple gets to be more comfortable with each other and becomes intimate in a healthy and amorous way. There are also too many instances of backstabbing and even a sexual predator that were not really necessary extending the drama to 40 enervating episodes.

The drama is full of likable characters and the leading couple, for the most part, has very good chemistry. Although there is a business plot in the drama and it is presented with business related difficulties and antagonists trying to get the business down, the main plot is the leading’s couple relationship. Dong Dong En and Lou Yuan is a very compatible couple in matters of intelligence and wits, but sometimes, the rich guy-poor girl cliché mentality gets in the way of the relationship flow. It doesn’t take long to be resolved but it gets a little bit tiring to think of throwing a working relationship away because of insecurities. Even though at some point it is repetitive, their love for each other is stronger than the supposed impossibilities and they keep working to make their romantic relationship work. Overall, the drama is nice and entertaining for the most part. Enjoy it!
