I'm still crying as I watch the credits that show a blend of stills from the movies as well as actual pictures from the event itself. This movie definitely is not for everyone because it is depicting, to me, one of South Korea's dark moments. As I watched this, I felt the emotions that I felt seeing clips and reading articles about the Civil Rights movement in the USA. The depiction of dogs and tear gas was one thing; but for innocent, unarmed people to be literally mowed down with machine guns, it is unheard of!

As you can see, this is a movie about the Gwangju massacre that took place between May 15-27, 1980. The reason behind the killings is senseless to me! I'm still trying to wrap my mind around the fact that someone in the military gave the order and I hope they enjoy their stay in HELL!!!

Excellent movie for those interested in historical events! Not for kids! And I don't think you will want to see this again.

Regardless of the extra episode, I still have to give this a perfect score! I loved it! Loved it! Loved it! I love Gong Hyo-Jin, her portrayal of Tae Gong Shil was off the charts!! She was funny, witty and oh so cute (as I already knew)!! And So Ji Sub?!! I have been waiting for so long to see him in a rom/com! I've seen all of his modern dramas and movies; this was the first rom/com I know about. He was smart, brass and so damn handsome! I'm so glad that more people have discovered what I've known for YEARS!!!

The rest of the cast, I loved; including Hwang Sun Hee as our baddie Ha Na! Talk about making you hate them while they barely had screen time? She did a good job. And let's not forget Choi Jung Woo as Sec Kim. He will go down in drama history as the first Secretary I've totally loved (since Secret Garden) but even more so. His character's love for Joong Won was so evident! The little side romance (or no romance between Seo In Guk and Park Hee Bon was super cute! We are all glad the 'Little Sun' finally got her man.

And last but not least, let's give it up for Uncle (Lee Jong Won). I'll never forget his final words when he saw Gong Shil leaving Joong Won's apartment: Bang Shil, FIGHTING!!

SO BUYING THIS!!

No, Hollywood COULDN'T have done that better!! I was riveted from the beginning! Okay, I admit, I have a lot of Ikuta Toma on my watchlist, well they have now soared to the top! This movie is freaking FANTASTIC! Not for everyone though, it has blood and some seriously twisted killings. But if the Bobsey twins don't scare the bejeesus out of you, nothing will! What a great movie for a Saturday night! I highly recommend it for anyone who likes suspense, thriller, and a little psychological mind games! These two were definitely the flip side of the same coin. You watch the movie, you'll know who I mean. ANd the ending? The BEST!!!

I don't know where to start! My drama friends have been trying to get me to watch this for awhile and I was hesitate when it was being broadcasted because I was watching too much drama. So finally I took the challenge of marathon watching this. Man, am I glad that I did. Let's start with the acting:

Everyone did a fantastic job! From Lee Jin Wook as Sun Woo to Jeong Dong Hwan as Choi Jin Cheul! I loved the way everyone played their parts and held your attention whenever they were on the screen. Jo Yoon Hee as Min Young was simply charming. I have to point out that my favorite was Sun Woo's buddy played by Lee Seung Jun was amazing! His portrayal of Han Young Hoon was STELLAR! He amazed me with his expressions, his tears, his joy, just about everything.

Music: I loved how you had a blend of every type of music from the 90's, whether it was western or korean; just about everyone was featured. I loved how the music fit the scene and helped, you the viewer feel what was going on in the scene.

Action: AMAZING!! That's all I need to say!!

Direction and Writing: This team of Director: Kim Byung-Soo and Writers: Song Jae-Jung, Kim Yoon-Joo; they must continue to work together. Studios? Just keep them together!! With this being their second work together (Queen InHyun's Man being the first), this is a team that no other can match!!

Romance: We got real kisses, folks!! Big smack-a-roos and deep soul kisses! I have no complaints on the romance! No deer in the headlights for this drama.

So is it worth 20 hours? Damn right!! Will you be bored? Most definitely not! The ending kind of left you open but what do you expect for time-travel where the cause and effects are definitely shown here brilliantly!! This is now my #1 favorite Fantasy drama!!

There is a saying at the beginning which reflects just what this drama is about; Silent Poor, represents the homeless, the sick, and others that cannot afford to take care of themselves and that is the drama in a nut shell. It is not about love, romance, conflict or anything you generally see in a drama but about a woman who is working through her grief of watching her younger brother die during a horrible earthquake when she was young. In the hopes of "giving back", she becomes a social worker. What I liked about this drama is that they showed me the distinct differences between Asian cultures and their attitudes towards the poor, sick, mentally ill, adoption, foreigners, everything! Every episode is a different story and it was those stories that I liked the most. If you have no interest in these things, I'd skip this drama. So why the lower rating? At times, it could have been better, the lead actress's acting was kind of stilted at times but thankfully she was surrounded by better ones. Overall, if you are interested in the role of a social worker in Japan, you will definitely find this interesting.

Okay, let me preface my review with the fact that you must be a lover of the crime/suspense/action genre. If you are not, this is not the drama for you.

Acting: What can I say, I was pleasantly surprised by all. I've seen them all in different works but in this collaboration between Jpn/Kor; they reined supreme. Takenouchi Yutaka as Shou/Takumi was phenomenal. As the gangster Shou, he played the role really well. I loved that! And boy is he a sexy man! Choi Ji Woo as Yuna was a treat! Except for movies, I'd never completed one of her dramas but as Yuna (the ever changing Yuna), she was on point. I would be remiss in leaving out Sato Ryuta as Hide. Afro-ed down and funny as hell!

Action: Okay, this is a dark. dark drama. You are talking about gangsters, crooked cops; no drama of this ilk would be complete without some serious action! No, no club and knives but serious gun action so the squeamish, beware.

Filming: A Lot of the shots are dark and I guess the director was trying to project darkness because of the subject matter

Romance: It was nicely done and I must say, very believable. You will definitely feel and experience as these two, Shou and Yuna fall for each other. It was also nice to see that they expressed that affection too with hugs, kisses, etc.

Twists: Talk about a roller coaster ride!! There are so many twists and turns in this drama, I guarantee, your head will spin like you are possessed. HAH! I'm kidding but you will be shocked, dismayed and pleasantly amazed at the number of twists in this story; well done.

Music: There really wasn't a lot of variations to the music; however, what was featured was very nice. I loved the songs that were featured and there were times that the instrumental music reminded me of one of my favorite movies called Ghost Dog; same beat. You'll be bopping your head from time to time listening to it.

Overall, the writer definitely closed this drama with a bang and I was very, very happy. But as usual with JDramas, you must watch until the very end. I'm always sad when I do not understand why a drama has a certain title. Now I know what Rondo means.

LOVED IT!! Completed in 2 days!

What money and power will do to a person! The absolutely depravity of the rich and power was amazingly told in this drama. This is a drama for those who like crime and police type dramas. To see what Meiko endured in losing her family as well as going to prison for killing them was unbelievable. Mashima tried his hardest to protect a woman he knew was guilty but he also recognized that the events were set in motion by a falsehood. This was truly an amazing story about revenge. And this was my very first Japanese revenge drama. From start to finish, I was riveted to the story. I couldn't imagine what could possibly be the reason why her family was killed. When you see the reason at the end, you will be shocked. Bittersweet ending but after you watch the 11 episodes, it could not have ended any other way. EXCELLENT!!

Any movie based on real life character that turns their life around is always a good movie. But it also helps to have exceptional acting. Thank goodness, the bad taste of Fashion King is now removed from my psyche for Lee Je Hoon (Jang Ho). I look forward to his return from MS . Han Seok Kyu, I have seen many times and as always he excels!. Kang Sora was definitely the comic relief as the the girl who is totally infatuated with Jang Ho. Between her and the friend, each definitely had their funny moments. Overall, it was a decent movie that I would watch again for the great acting and wonderful music. No, Lee Je Hoon is definitely not singing but the voice is so wonderful, I don't think you'll care.

My second Go Soo anything! If you want to watch a really great romance, this is it. It will have you laughing, sighing, and crying! Han Hyo Joo's Mi Soo starts off kind of an ass but she morphs into a lovable, fun woman in love. Go Soo's Kang Il potrays very well a man who lost his wife and is still lost. All of the supporting characters are great additions. And the music is a variety from the old to the newer songs. If you are looking for a pretty decent romance, this is one.

Talk about a great comeback, Ji Hoon, what a wonderful job! Not only in drama but also this movie! His portrayal of not only the Crown Prince but also Deuk Chil, the slave was phenomenal! There were some seriously funny moments like when he first switched to the slave and both were experiencing what it's like to just go to the bathroom! The look on Deuk Chil's face when the official wiper came in, comedy gold! When the Crown Prince had his experience (guess they never wipe their own butts), all I can say is eew! We cannot forget when they were running away from the slave camp or should I say Hae Gu eas doing the running, you have to see it, you'll definitely laugh! Not only was it funny, but it also showed us e growing period for both characters as we saw a reluctant King realize what he needed to do for his country and a slave, willing to do anything for the woman he loved. So well worth the time! I highly recommend this!

This really deserves a 10 rating; it really is closer to 9.5. The ending could have been a little bit more satisfying but what I will take away from this is the director's ability to put together scenes that we, the viewer will NEVER forget. I don't think I need to spoiler and mention any. I believe when you watch this, every one of those scenes will be fresh and new; things you have NEVER, NEVER seen before in a drama! Every single one of the main leads gave a STELLAR performance. From Ji Sung and Hwang Jung Eum to Bae Soo Bin to Lee Dae Hee; all were at the top of their game! Am I going to watch this again? You damn right!!

Close to perfect at times. The acting was perfect for this drama. I asked myself why I hadn't watched this before. The title throws you off because you have no idea what it really is about. Let's start with the stand-out actors. First of all, Ryu Deok Hwan as Han Jin Woo was unbelievably good! From the first episode to the end. His portrayal of Jin Woo was spot on perfect. Yoon Joo Hee as Kang Kyung Hee was great! At times, she drove you batty with her police decisions which made no sense to me (or maybe I watch TOO MANY police and crime dramas) but overall she did a good job. The rest of the cast was fun and acted well. Every episode was a learning experience. Keep wikipedia/google handy. You will be doing a lot of searching! Again, I cannot believe I am just watching this. Onto to season 2!

If there ever was a show that you questioned why you were watching for awhile and then like gangbusters, the direction, action, and acting improved ten-fold, this is it!

While watching it in the beginning, I really was not recommending it to anyone to watch; however, that changed past the mid point and everything improved (except for ep 19/20 which I wondered who was directing)! Overall, I have to say that this female pairing with KHS was the best of all of LMH’s female leads; hands down. Even though I liked City Hunter immensely, I wasn’t too thrilled about PMY. Even though, Eun Soo and Choi Young hardly kissed, the romance was tremendous! In just a touch, a look, a caress, damn, the romance was definitely there! Don’t get me started! I’m now recommending it to be watched because its well worth it! Gongmin and Noguk, not withstanding were my favorite couple in the beginning but the story transformation for CY and ES improved so much that I was waiting with bated breath for their scenes. Now, if we could have seen Prince Deuk get his comeuppance, I would have had more satisfaction and forgiven them for killing off my Dol Bae *tears*! Its so rare, especially is sagueks (fusion or otherwise) that you develop such a vested interest in so many characters!

Vast improvement in LMH’s acting and I truly enjoyed it! This truly has been a wonderful year for drama!

My first drama over 24 episodes became one of the best dramas I'd ever seen for 2011! I've lost count how many times I've watched this since the first time watching it! The acting was superb by both the child actors as well as the adults! I became a fan for life to the principal actors, Nam Goong Min, Kim Jae Won, and Hwang Jung Eum; couldn't wait to watch other dramas/movies with them as characters. Everything about this drama is wonderful! You watch a romance that started as children continue to grow as adults with little conflict in relations to how they feel about each other. The stories about each of the characters is amazing. The supporting actors Lee Hye Young, Jung Bo Suk and Yoon Yeo Jeong is amazing! There are so many aspects of this drama which are very good. From the acting, cinematography and music; no stone was left unturned and the writers made sure that the story flowed! What else can I say without giving details except, this is a must-see!
