The first 10 episodes were worth it

This was a cute story and I'm not mad that I took the time to watch it. The chemistry between the two leads was (IMO) amazing. The male lead almost set my laptop on fire. The first 10 episodes are definitely worth watching if you like Kdrama rom-coms.

Unfortunately it falls apart halfway through episode 11 and never recovers what was lost. I don't know what happened. Halfway through episode 11 the story ran out of steam or something and the writers seemed to stop caring at all. The last 4 episodes are really disappointing and made me think that if lead characters probably shouldn't be in a relationship. If not for the last 4 episodes this would've been an 8 out of 10, but now it's more like a 6.5/10.

The story has the usual plot holes and loose ends, but I can live with that. This is a basic Kdrama rom-com that doesn't reinvent the wheel or try to make any statements. It's pure fluffy enjoyment - it's really just a shame about the last episodes.

Will I re-watch it? Yes, the first 11.5 episodes were cute and if nothing else it's worth watching just to see Sung Hoon with a kid in his arms. Someone should do womenkind a favour make a gif of him playing with kids.

My new favourite

I didn't think I could like any series more than "What's wrong with Secretary Kim?", but this story has taken its place in my heart. I watched the entire series over 36 or so hours and skipped less than 5 minutes of the story. This story revolves around romance, action, redemption and family and is uplifting and fun. I can't speak for my male counterparts, but as a woman who enjoys superhero stories this was a win win for me.

A few things to note:
1. If you dislike fantasy or are looking for realism this is obviously not the story for you. It's based on a woman with supernatural strength so don't expect it to be realistic.
2. You can see from the cover that there will be a love triangle. I despise love triangles, but here it was written in a way that I personally didn't mind. The female lead is sweet and caring and doesn't play with anybody's feelings and I wasn't left broken-hearted with her choice. It is a very satisfying happily ever after.
3. I don't know what the age restriction on this is, but because of the violence/gore I think it's definitely not meant for children.

With above three caveats in mind, get ready for your new favourite series!

Cute and funny

I thought this would be the same old, same old cold ML who meets a nice FL and slowly starts to soften towards her. I'm pleasantly surprised.

Although I've only watched the first 7 episodes I'm really loving this drama. Its OTT but in a fun and funny way. The ML seems cold and indifferent initially but his true colours start showing very early. The ML is emotionally immature and self-important, but he is also sensitive, caring and actually is just trying to protect his fragile heart.

At this point the ML is totally stealing the show and the FL is (IMO) an important, but side, character.

Don't hesitate to watch just because you think you know what you're getting into - it's really much better than expected. I literally laughed out loud a few times because of the ML's reactions. To me a lot of C-dramas are really shallow and plastic, but this one has a tiny bit more realism and isn't off putting with how unreal everything looks and feels.

If this drama goes down the drain in further episodes I'll update, but at this time I'm enjoying this fun and fluffy story.

I think this is for tweens

I found this story very confusing. I can only assume the target audience is girls between 9 and 11 - maybe some adults will find this charming, but I think they will be the exception.

The plot isn't bad but the actual story and acting is extremely OTT. The characters are at university (I think), but they all have only one classroom and all take the same subjects? This story has a Power Rangers feeling to it ie overly colorful, OTT acting, weird situations... If you watch the first few episodes and think this isn't for you, then you shouldn't force yourself to finish it - it doesn't get better.

I do think girls aged 9 - 11 will enjoy this though and that's why I gave it more stars than I otherwise would.

I really tried to like it

Even after about 10 episodes I could neither stand nor ignore the ML's weird "evil" muauaua laugh. Nothing against the actor, but I don't understand why he was given such an off putting laugh? It made me dislike him immensely to the point that I started to dislike all his mannerisms. When the ML was "normal" and loving he was great, but with 20 episodes, 'that' was far and few in between. Would I give this story another shot? NOOOO. I should have given up sooner and spared myself the irritation.

Frustrating

This drama rubbed me the wrong way from the start.

Firstly the ML is played by the Steven Seagal of Chinese actors. I have now watched at least 3 dramas with him in it and he plays the same role in every story. He doesn't act, he just does a stony, unemotional and uninterested expression the whole time. I don't know if he is considered attractive and that's why people don't complain.

Ignoring the person opposite you isn't really acting.

Then, my next pet peeve. The clingy, desperate and no-self-respect FL.

The ML is openly hostile and rude to her and she just keeps crawling back. You know those blow-up toys that you punch and they just come back up again? That's a perfect description of the FL.

If a man says you should go away from him and he doesn't want to ever see you again, you don't go back to him smiling. You shake the dust from your feet and go live an amazing life without him.

I don't know if I'll give this another chance in the future, but seeing as I've watched the exact same ML in two other stories, I don't think I will.
