Sung Jin Hwan is a South Korean singer and former member of the group Sweet Sorrow. He graduated from Daeil Foreign Language High School and later obtained a bachelor's degree in Economics from Yonsei University. During his college years, he was part of the glee club and, in there, he met Song Woo Jin, Im Ho Jin and pianist Kim Young Woo. All four, plus four other friends, created a cappella group who they called "Sweet Sorrow" using the quote "Parting is such a sweet sorrow" from Romeo and Juliet. He decided to pursue a music career and made his debut in 2002 by performing at college festivals and events until they won the Daesang at the Yoo Jae Ha Music Competition and signed a contract with Mezoo Cultures. The group released their 1st studio album, "Sweet Sorrow", in 2005 and have continued to release albums, EPs or have sung OSTs for several dramas ever since. In 2017, he announced that due to health reasons he was taking a break from all activities and in 2019 officially left the group permanently and is now out of the entertainment industry as he is working as a cartoonist.
