Jung Yu Ji is a South Korean singer and musical actress. She graduated from Lila Art High School and later obtained a bachelor's degree in Practical Music from the Seoul Institute of the Arts. She originally debuted as a member of EXID on February 2012 with the group's first single "Holla" under the stage name U.Ji. However, 2 months later the agency announced she was leaving the group to focus on her studies. She signed with YNB Entertainment and in 2013 she re-debuted, alongside fomer EXID members Hyeyeon and Haeryung, as part of the group BESTie with their first single, "Pitapat". In 2014, she ventured into musicals making her debut with a role in "Full House" and obtaining prominent roles in other musicals such as "Notre Dame de Paris", "West Side Story", among others. In 2017, she left BESTie after she did not renew her contract with the agency. She signed with Curo Holdings where she remained until 2021. She is currently represented by World Star Entertainment and began using her full name after she participated in "Sing Again 2".
