same director - same themes of love and difficult decisions about honour

-Feudal Japan
-Extreme loyalty between lovers
-Prostitution (mildly in Love And Honour)
-The female leads in both films remind me of eachother. They're both extremely loyal, and don't hesitate to take action or make sacrifices for the male lead(s). They also both get mistreated in someway.

Love and Honor tells the story about a samurai food taster and his wife. Both, "A Tale of Samurai Cooking" and "Love and Honor" show that love can form and persist in turbulent times. Both illustrate that a true love story does not always have to follow a Cinderella storyline and can still be beautiful.
