Everybody can't stop bashing on the drama. Guys, make your own advice and watch the drama, then if you don't like it, drop it. But don't ask people to not watch it.

For me, The drama was fine. An advanced reincarnation's concept. (similar to Goblin)
It's about :
-strong love
-jealousy,
- memories,
-hard life conditions,
- how far people are ready to go to be rich, why being rich ?
- travel , time travel,
-adventures
- work's life, work's motivation..
-and to love forever

The drama is so rich ! How can you hate it that much. Yea, I agree , the drama don't deserve a 8/10 but at least a 7/10. It's not honest to give it a 1/10 or 3.
The show started strong ! But was finally slow, sometimes complicated. The characters were well done ! Shin Se Kyung improve a lot, her chemisty with Kim Rae Won was not a joke.

The end was pretty interesting, he choose to live forever to keep her with him. I really loved the end.
As Goblin the drama was about Love through the time , and the Ost were pretty good !

This is a big, complicated story to get into. It's going to take the first 5-6 episodes before you are up to speed with what's going on so stick with it, it's worth it. The story is spread over two lifetimes, in the 1800's and in present day and I felt it was done so extremely well. The story in the present day moves along as they then cut to scenes in history to provide back story at appropriate moments, which are then re-reflected on later to provide reminders so you don't need to be worried about "how am I going to remember everything going on here?!" . I like stories that bring a mix of Joseon and modern day as I feel it adds extra depth and history to the story.

Originally chose this one because of Shin Se Kyung having enjoyed her work in another drama and this only helped enhance my appreciation for her work.

I did Initially think about dropping it simply because one of the reasons I am so interested in K-Drama's is to learn more about Korea and Korean history and this one kicks off in Slovenia. I don't have anything against Slovenia of course, and it actually does end up spend most of its time in Korea. Ultimately I really appreciated the visuals and the contrasting scenes from Slovenia as well.

Kim Rae Won, as the male lead, also pulled off the highly charismatic role brilliantly as well.

I found little to criticise in this one, it's a deeply emotional story that will have you reaching for tissues on a number of occasions and fill your heart with warmth on just as many. You're going to really get involved in all the characters and their stories, their feelings and emotions and the long journey some of them have taken to be where they are, which makes even the "bad" character(s) such that you can empathise.

I struggled with the ending to this one, it's nicely concluded but it left me a bit of an emotional wreck for a few days if i'm going to be honest. I get it, I love it - but line yourself up something warm and fluffy like What's Wrong with Secretary Kim as the dessert for this one.

He was her black knight, on so many levels. Totally recommend this without reservation.

My final words - Red Bean Bread right back to the cast and crew, that final slide was perfect.

It's D-day, everyone! I have been waiting for this day to come...

Lot's of people said they didn't like it and there are those who did like it.

I can understand both.

If you like romance genre, then try it WITHOUT expectations. You can enjoy the main couple's lovey-dovey, the two immortals' fight with each other( a childish one and a repenter one), the childish one's more and more immature acts to get her 'loved' one and beautiful views of places.
If you don't really like anyone in the cast or if you are picky about dramas, then FORGET it. Believe in your hunch! Don't believe in the teasers! (I did and  regret it now...)

If you have time then listen to OSTs of it. They are likable.

Rewatching it? NO, I would never do that. NEVER.

I haven't written a review in a while so take what I say with a grain of salt. I truly believe Black Knight deserve one to serve as a buffer of sort to all the negatives comments in the comments sections.
I have been watching dramas for over a decade now and I can fairly say that Black Knight is one of those Love it or Hate it drama. Personally I like it, it  wasn't spectacular enough to take me to the love level but it was warm enough to bring me to like.
So if you find yourself  looking for a drama were you know that there is 99% of chance that the plot and story progression will go nowhere, then you have found yourself at the right stop. Because that is exactly what you will get plotwise here :" NOWHWERE". But don't let the nowhereness of the plot deter you from 20 hours of free cheese and well place laughter if you know how to turn off your overthinking cap.
Let's  give props where there are due.
Go into this drama with zero expectations of wow moments and you will be the happiest person on earth. Go into this drama with a mind set that is ready to jump at every plot whole and expecting (a+b)=c moment and you are going to be the most miserable person on earth.

I came into this drama for Kim Rae Won and I was not disappointed, he showed that yes he is a veteran actor and he can work with whatever is thrown at him. And let's thanks this drama for giving female viewers out there a somewhat healthy male model,  Soo Hoo was kind, hard working and mature. He acted like a gentleman from the moment we met him and showed us that it is possible to want to attain childish dream while being an adult about it.  Something that we have to admit K-drama don't always show us.  So if you want to just chill and watched KRW do his thing then watch this.

Jang Mi Hee another veteran actress also shined in the mastery of her craft. She portray reformer Baek Hee with class.  Making us laugh at her eccentricity at the right moment and cheering for her to attain the absolution she so wanted. Go in at least just to check in Beak Hee moments even if you have to skip through the drama.

Seo Ji Hye  truly surprised me with her portrayal of Sharon. I'm not going to be singing her acting prowess because to me she more of  a hit or miss actress. But  I have to say that she nailed Sharon essence.  If what we wanted from Sharon was a emotion spot holder than an actress with better control of her facial expressions and mastery of acting would have been better.  But for what the drama came to give us of Sharon SJH  was a good choice.  She has that entitled feel to her.   If you have to check this out well at least check some of Sharon clip, she was at least funny in her eccentricity. Yet also delivered the right amount at annoyance at the mastery of the lack of development her character went through ( which I personally  think was intentional.) It occurred to me that maybe the point that the writer was trying to make with Sharon lay in her lack of moral or personal growth.

Acting wise these three are the only one that stood out for me. While it was quite cute watching Shin Se Kyung and Kim Rae Won be cheesy and cute together. Shin Se Kyung once again failed to invest me in her character, she seemed to be a simple place holder around which everyone else gravitated in order to be positioned right.
Reading this I can see yourself asking what I'm trying to get at and what the point of these long review that doesn't really say much.  Well I what I truly want to say is, ignore the nagging people and the eternal discontent. Grab a bag of popcorn on a rainy and watch this, even as a place holder to cure that itch that you have for waiting for the other drama that you really wanna watch.  It would not be a wasted 20 hours.  It would just be  20 hours that you spent enjoying some nice cinematography, you will have some decent music and some visually attractive people to watch for about 20 hours.  Then you will move on with your life.

Don't come in with expectations and enjoy the laugh and MOST OF ALL: DON'T OVERTHINK THINGS.

How do I put this?

You know the feeling when you buy a new toothbrush?

It's the perfect color, has the right amount of bristle strength, fits comfortably in your hand.

You use this tooth brush all week with the small joy that it brings and makes you chuckle over being happy with such a small thing.

And then, your roommate asks if you've been using that perfect toothbrush.

Because another person has been using it all week too.

That's the feeling.

Don't be seduced by the first episodes. Don't fall for it's charm. Don't do it.

If I had to describe this drama as an animal, I'd say it's a skunk.
At first you think, "Awww, what a cute furry little thing!" and then you realize what it really is, a stinker.
It sits there, invading your MDL Currently Watching list and leaves a big stink.
Skunks like boxes, this drama's plot is as dull as cardboard.
Skunks are black and white, so is this boring ass show.
Skunk odor stays forever and you smell it again and again, this drama has gone on longer.
Do yourself a favour and protect yourself from this horrid drama and watch something more exciting (like paint drying).

In all seriousness though, PLEASE DON'T WATCH THIS.

I had a love and hate relationship with this drama. In the beginning the female protagonist was too ignorant to everything happening around her and was too trusting. I understand this was a fantasy drama, however it was an unrealistic one. Hera’s plot was basically being dragged along by others . She wasn’t a main character but rather a supporting one. Unfortunately she remained so until the very end and her fiesty personality deterred the more she got comfortable in her mans arms.
What I can appreciate about this drama is the fact that It gave me what I searched for in Korean drama land since I began watching them 10 years ago. A consistent villain and vengeance. There is a theme in Kdrama world where the villainess can push you down the stairs, be the reason for public humiliation or a life threatening situation but because she decided to change 4 episodes before the end; all is forgiven. Everyone is chummy.
Black Knight's Sharon differs in the fact that she wants one thing and she is consistent in wanting it. She is willing to do anything to have it and if she fails she tries again and again. If what Sharon wanted was to rule the country not a man she would be my ultimate hero.
Alas she wants a specific penis and is willing to kill who ever is in the way of it. I don’t believe her punishment was matched her crimes. She needed much much more.
Now I am a sucker for the grease so the cheesey fluffy moments between the two leads made me very happy. I loved their relationship and how affectionate it was. The only thing I didn’t like was how submissive she became.
Another relationship I Loved was Becky and Sharon. Their comical antics as they go through time and their support for each other although the held different views on redemption was very cute. You can sense their bond as they continue to quabble but cannot help but always run to find each other.

This drama should have been 12 episodes long. As I write this I am trying to remember the story worth 20 episodes and I don’t remember anything much. Really! One point to the writers: Sharon commits two major crimes that go unnoticed by the cops in a way that makes them just plain lazy.

The music was genius! The piggy sound that is played when something freaky happens may have been the source of why I needed to watch this drama in public areas during the day light. Daydream by Kwon Sun Il being my favorite . Rather than the story having control of my emotions, it was the music.

Acting wise I am curious to the reason Kim Rae Won chose to participate in this drama. He is arguably  among the best actors in SK and yet his last two dramas have been his least challenging roles. Playing the savior rich man who guides the young female lead.
I like Shin Se Kyung in this role because she wasn’t over acting. She was calmer and more mature. That’s as far as I can comment on her acting skills.
I am excited to watch the actress who played Sharon in other dramas. She was by far the scene stealer and definitely swayed the audience to her side. Although like with the rest of the cast I didn’t see any breakthrough performance moment from her.

I will be rewatching simply for the comedy and fluff.

Don't waste your time.

I think the only thing I liked was her red/maroon coat.

Second female lead was pretty but her character dragged the story...

I've always been disappointed in Shin Se Kyung's Dramas... I've seen at least 6-7 of her works... I don't know why I gave her a 7th chance... I'm so sorry.

The review says I have to type at least 500 words in order to post... I have about 100 periods left.....................................................................................................

If you're in love with KRW like I am, watch it, you'll be amazed by his looks, smiles, acting and sweet little romance scenes. If you like good actresses, watch it because you'll see Jang Me-Hee and Seo Ji Hye brilliant acting. These three actors, the little jewel Yang Seung Goo (Kim Seol Jin), the music and outfits will live a strong impresion in your mind but the story and the main female character's acting will live you frustrated and disappointed as well as the bad development of the other characters. The first episodes were good enough to catch me, but then it felt like the scenes were thrown there without much thinking. I liked though some episodes (14, 15, 16) because they gave the wonderful three actors the chance to show their true colors in acting. That drama misses the point, the final lesson, the main idea. The bad point of the ending is that doesn't match with the rest of the story, looking like the writer wanted to punish the main characters for their love, even if they wanted probably to seem like a happy ending. The feeling that remains is that of a waste, a waste of a wonderful cast, music, scenography and of a drama that could have been memorable.

I have watched a lot of dramas and I always judge them based on the overall of it but on this one I had a hard time due to the fact that some parts were amazing and others not. I really liked the chemistry of the main leads. The first few episodes were really good and I enjoyed the drama but then the ending ruined the entire thing. I was so happy at first with the ending and then that went away quickly. With those types of endings I sometimes cry but in this drama I just felt disappointed.
I liked the cast a lot and the main leads in my opinion had good chemistry. I hope they work together again. This was one of those dramas that gets you all hyped up and then nothing. So after reading this if you still want to watch it then go ahead but be prepared to suffer.

Started intriguing then became hilarious (wether intentionally or not ?) with a lot of WTF moments and got draggy and tiring. Suffered from poor writing and bad pacing. The historical part was captivating but quickly resolved. The Ost fits the surrealist atmosphere. The acting was okay but not enough to be emotionally invested in the characters. The fantasy part failed to make sense. Some characters were useless and many scenes feel just unnecessary. The whole show evolves around Sharon’s craziness and her fashion style. Only KRW’s charm and the cute romance made me watch it till the shitty ending. The ending will let you a feeling of having wasted 20 hours of your life and make you swear to avoid the writer’s next work.

This drama as a whole, was neither a major letdown, but then again neither was it a fantastic piece of work. I watched, and stuck through it for Kim Rae Won's acting, which never fails to amaze me.

There are already a lot of negative reviews out there for this drama so I won't go and say the obvious about the plot (a complete standstill).

For a drama with so many episodes, you'll expect some development with plot, characters and storyline, however everything was how it started out to be really. Hae Ra and Soo Ho's love story was really the only thing going on in the basically non-existent plot. That and Choi Seo Rin's hatred for the pair. The story started out slow and steady and stayed slow and steady. You get a lot of lovey-dovey scenes between Shin Se Kyung and Kim Rae Won but even then, the whole story itself just didn't really fit around it's own concept.

There wasn't a whole lot of "protecting Hae Ra" going on. Just really confusing scenes on Soo Ho's business with Park Chul Min. There were a lot of obvious flaws in the drama too, so the whole story was like a puzzle piece with vital pieces missing. There were too many characters with no actual role in developing the storyline, too many loose strings at the end of the drama. The whole drama was like the buildup in an orchestra. A really slow buildup, that you'll expect the ending was a lot different and a resounding crash instead of a crescendo. Basically with this drama, you'll have to be prepared to drive up a slowly, ascending mountain. Only to find a steep drop on the other side of it.
