At one point I found myself hiding under a blanket, and after a while I was laughing so hard.. :D
The movie reminds me a lot of The Master's Sun.. I loved The Master's Sun and I loved this movie as well. :D
The story was great and actors done a pretty good job. The comedic scenes were really good, I couldn't stop laughing. I was a little freaked out by a ghost girl but a romance between Sohn Ye-jin and Lee Min Ki had a perfect balance with horror stuff..
Anyhow, this movie was DEABAK, so you won't regret it.. :D :D

It had all the right bits and pieces. The transactions between comedy and horror was just perfect, they blended it in sooo well. Never thought those two genres could fit together this well until i saw this movie xD
So if you are not a fan of horror (like me) I say you give this movie a try. Trust me, it will be worth watching it till the end ^_^ You will love it :)

The chemistry between the two main characters is great--- I found myself chuckling over and over just thinking about them.
And guess what? Although yes the scary parts can get a bit frightening, it has a cute ending that involves potential happiness for even the ghosts!!
Also, the main guy with magician make up is gorgeous...

This is a unique find. Koreans are good in making horror and romantic-comedy films, mixing them both in one movie is a brilliant idea. Though it's not easy to execute since these factors should not overpower the other and the quality of both genres should be maintained and evident in the film. This is what I liked most in this movie. The scary scenes are eerie and startling. The romantic-comedy scenes are simple yet effective. Hwang In-ho did a good job in balancing these genres in Spellbound.
It’s been a while since I purely enjoyed watching an Asian Romantic-Comedy film. In fact, this is now on top of my recommended Asian films. So if you're tired of watching the same movies you always watch, Spellbound is nice way to clean up your palette.

This is movie is a melodrama/horror-complete with a PDA in the airport in the final scene,affirming the leads had something but not the electric skin-ship of MSun. Give this a look, perfect for the upcoming Hallows Eve viewing or if you're like me, anytime. Enjoy!

I am no fan of horror movies at all. However, with this one, even the supposedly scary scenes where ghosts appear (helped by the usual scary music and pale ghost faces) are mostly undercut by humour (vastly helped by the mischievous music) and sometimes have happy endings. There are also plenty of purely comedic scenes. Within the first 18 minutes of this movie I was already tearing from all the laughing - no joke.
This is a mostly light-hearted movie, filled with some sad moments about the effects of Yeo-ri's powers on her, and heartwarming moments with the ghosts. The ghosts that haunt Yeo-ri have not gone into the afterworld because they still have things to settle on earth.
On an unrelated note, this is the second movie I've seen SYJ in where she goes to a batting cage, the first one being A Moment to Remember, but in this one her character is good at it, but in AMTR, her character is hopeless at it. Hmm interesting.

Has some good elements but does not hold together well
5/10 is my rating. This is a Korean movie (~114 minutes run time) from 2011 that blends comedy, romance and a little bit of horror. The female lead, Son Ye-jin, plays Yeo-ri a young woman who can see dead people. And not nice, friendly dead people, but some haunting, frightening characters. Lee Min-ki is a magician who spots Yeo-ri in the crowd at one of his performances and senses something different about her. After getting the story of what she sees - he works her into his stage show in a horror magical piece that leaves audiences on the edge of the seats and enhances his magic career. Soon the two become friends, and quite quickly become more than friends.Spoiler 🚨 Not sure if it is because I thought this was a series at first but I found that the story moved entirely too fast for me. It was really hard for me to envision them having fallen for each other because it just did not see like that much time had passed. He is willing to give up a lot and put up with a lot to be with her and I just did not get that level of connection. I am a big chicken when it comes to horror movies and I did not find this one very frightening at all. It also did not show enough of what she experienced to drive home just how horrific her life was. I would not recommend this one - I did not find it very entertaining. I also did not feel the two of them made a very convincing romantic couple.
