Its not boring for me

I dont know why there are many bad reviews about this drama but for me it was not bad. I love how the leads interact to each other. The OST is good too. I just finished this in 3 days and it was worth watching.

The story is good and exciting for me. Or maybe it is just me because I love fantasy dramas.

I like Ji Chang Wook's charcter here. He's eager to protect the leading lady. I first knew him in The K2 and I think action is the best for him but I love him in this drama.

This drama deserves lots of love

Apart from the ridiculous sci-fi plot, and a rocky and obnoxious first few episodes, this drama is WAY overhated and underrated! I honestly think it's rated so low just because people have no patience for unrealistic plotlines and plot holes. When other aspects are done well, I can overlook something like this and it doesn't bother me too much.

I admit that JCW totally carries it which isn't a surprise, but the FL does a great job too and the romance aspect is enjoyable with really great chemistry as you would expect from these actors. I heard some say the romance came on too fast and felt unnatural, but it didn't seem that way to me at all. It was very obvious that the ML started caring for her out of feeling responsible for her health and whatever would happen to her as a result of the experiment he convinced her to do. And yes, this did start to develop gradually if you pay close attention. I did feel pretty bad for his ex though, talk about a crappy situation for her.

Overall I really enjoyed it! Then again I always love watching JCW just because of his acting style and detailed expressions, etc. which make him so great to watch... but even apart from that, it is a great romance.

"wasn't it cheesy?"

No it was not cheesy. I feel like a lot of people would think that way since the concept isn't basic and that cryonic capsules could sound weird. But no, even though they don't exist yet (I think) I didn't think that the story was weird at all. It was actually believable if anything. I especially liked that they included vintage things. The only thing about the story is that not a lot happened in one episode. I guess that means it's very bingeable. Personally, I thought the drama moved very slowly, but then a lot happened in the end.

I thought that the casting was good. I just think that Ko Mi Ran looks a lot like the guy from It's Okay to Not be Okay. If you watch a lot of dramas, there's a lot of familiar faces in this drama. This was my first time seeing Choi Bo Min, who played Hwang Ji Hoon. His character was small, but he was my favourite. I wish he had more lines and scenes.

In general, everything was good, but not amazing. I would still recommend though.

Feel like I am late to the game with this one, but to be fair I was a little scared. I remember when this came out back in 2019, everyone and their mom was OBSESSED and it got some of the highest ratings, but then started to see ratings and . Reviews fall with the last episode... so I put it off.

My thoughts? This is probably one of my favorite kdramas I have ever watched if not tied for first place for 2022. I loved how the story wasn't what I was expecting - two people who signed up for a 24 hour frozen human experiment, but end up getting frozen for 20 years, and when waking up trying to live their new normal as well as trying to survive (as they were ultimately test subjects to see if a human can be frozen).

I loved both characters, regardless of what other reviews say. Ma Dong Chan was a bit rough, but once he is a recipient of Go Mi Ran's love, he starts to realized what true love is supposed to look like. After, we start to see this romantic af side of Dong Chan, who was a little jealous at... most times, but ultimately knew they were both in certain position that wanted him to be her protector. Go Mi Ran on the other hand was a 24 year old girl (in 1999) who was on the surface very headstrong, but internally extremely selfish, doing things to help others and take care of her younger special needs brother. Both characters butt heads in the beginning, only seeing the surface level versions of one another, but through this experiment and shared experience, they become close and learn to love one another. BUT I can easily find a lot of reviews on MyDramaList that will disagree with my statement.

Maybe I am too much of an empath for my own good - where I found myself constantly ugly crying trying to imagine myself being in both their situations... trying to imagine their day to day lives changing in the blink of an eye. Who cares if Dong Chan might have been a bland character? I actually really enjoyed how both characters were mundane family oriented everyday people. It made their reactions and experiences to waking up 10 years later that much more relatable. ALSO, I think I have this weird talent where I am able to watch or read anything and just completely accept and immerse myself in the world. Did I think the whole let's experiment on dolphins and whales and then now people a little odd - like jumping from step 1 to step 6? Yes. I feel like there might have been a few other steps we could have done between... but I also think it added to the urgency of finding an antidote/medicine with Dong Chan and Mi Ran facing side effects.

At the end of the day.. this was a romance drama. And I was fully immersed and ugly cried for a good portion of it - their experiences of wanting to love like normal people, trying to rebuild their relationships after 20 years of disappearing and people thinking they had died, and ultimately them feeling like they missed out on years of their life and figuring out how to adapt while trying to figure out their next steps and how they fit into this new normal. This is also probably one of my favorite Ji Chang Wook dramas, and honestly.. believed in him and Won Jin Ah's chemistry and love for one another.

Honestly, I do agree that were some places where the drama could have been better, but I was extremely happy with what I was given.

This drama gave me such a high expectation as two of my favourite actors are the main roles of it. But the drama was quite disappointing. I'd love to see Ji Chang Wook and Won Jin Ah in another drama with a better writing.

*has spoilers okay

//STORY//
Now this is the part which the drama really fucked up on. At first you see this cool concept of cryogenics experiment that went wrong. It even had an antagonist to appear as the villain of the story. But this was just poorly executed. The start of the drama really had me on high hopes but later on I just gave up on the story and just started focusing on the scenes between Ji Chang Wook and Won Jin Ah. I personally think the drama could've done WAY better but it was just a mess. The character development in this one is also quite terrible. Especially for the antagonist of the drama, it was kinda dry. So I believe most people just gave up on the story itself. The ending came quite bad. Atleast it was a happy ending. If they ended it with her being stabbed and dead the drama wouldn't get a 7.6 rating and instead a damn 4 or 5.
I don't even know how to explain the story but overall it was bad and that is what's important.

//ACTING//
The acting was what saved the drama to be honest. Especially that shower scene omaigodd( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°). But the actor that didn't appeal much to me would be Kim Bup Rae (Lee Hyeong Du and Lee Seok Du).

//OST//
I don't really pay attention to the OST's of dramas but this one wasn't anything out of the ordinary. Dramas like While you Were Sleeping had good OST's which really stood out to me and I would be able to recognise it if someone was listening to it. So the Music in this drama wasn't outstanding enough.

//REWATCH?//
No. I probably won't rewatch the drama unless it is for the scenes between Ji Chang Wook and Won Jin Ah. That is the only thing I would rewatch.

ok?

the ending is the most surreal moment i've had while watching a kdrama. spoilers ahead but the main couple become...vloggers??? this was such a bizarre choice and it's so random but it's kind of funny so kudos i guess?

the romance was okay, though the dynamic confused me at times. it seemed rather awkwardly push and pull, and the love triangle was so weird. the second female lead wanted to freeze the fl?? i have never been so confused.

i didn't have high hopes when watching this but it was, i believe, my 3rd kdrama and i'm glad i didn't stop here. retrospectively, it's amusing, but i'm honestly surprised that i managed to watch it all back then. my standards must have been low for me to finish this. i feel like i should state, to redeem myself, that i had dropped this multiple times but finished because i hated dropping dramas at the time, it felt wrong.

i can't really fault the acting, the actors worked with what little they had, though the mix of characters used for comedy and characters used for pathos felt like a weird mix.

also, sidenote, though the second lead certainly did unforgiveable things, i don't think her anger at the situation was unreasonable. for her, she had been waiting 20 years. no romantic endeavours. just waiting. and then her bf finally awakens but moves on in practically a week. her anger was misplaced at fl but i can understand where she is coming from.

the cast is rather star-studded and so i think i did expect more, but as i said, they did the best they could with what they had.

Fresh concept , good execution

TBH , This was a good amalgamation of rom-com , sci-fi and drama .

I know many critics might not agree here (Judging by the previous reviews ) . I too hesitated to watch it , precisely for 2 reasons .... 1. the reviews were bad 2. The poster made me question the chemistry of the leads , But this drama was like a breath of fresh air for me . I was off late very miffed with rich man poor girl rom coms , having annoying female lead . It was so refreshing to see a different and a new concept , where also the female lead was strong and not a damsel in distress . The ML also liked her for her strength and capabilities . There were little to no misunderstandings , even when they both were doing their own things (There was 1 which they handled very maturely without much fuss) .

Coming on acting , JCW has never failed to impress me , every expression he has is so controlled and specific , that he is able to convey all his emotions just by his eyes . I cried with him ! I loved the FL too , I wasn't expecting her to b this good . Having said that there were 2 other characters that amazed me , go nam tae and Dong chan's niece . They were both so good . They had some amazing dialogues that would immediately send a jitter across your spine .

There is just 1 thing I dint like about this series was the proper closure on villains . There was no trace of them, It was mentioned that they were imprisoned . It would have been better if the showed them paying for their sins. Going on the technicality part , I know few things must have sound unrealistic , but guys nothing is realistic in drama world (Goblins , mermaids , grim reapers all are unrealistic to begin with , but we still like the drama , right !) , the thing that's important is how much u enjoyed watching it . And this was 1 drama where I wasn't annoyed for 1 bit , even by the SFL SML , coz everything was so controlled and nothing was overboard imo.

Its not a conventional story , give it a chance !!

This drama had a great potential. It started quite interestingly. The idea is nice, but the execution was sadly poor, in my opinion.

What I liked:
- comedy
- youtube
- crazy first boyfriend
- kiss scene
- professor + brother Nam Tae

What I didn't like:
- second half of the drama
- not much focus on the frozen people
- plot holes
- crazy first boyfriend

I hated crazy first boyfriend at first but then I was enjoying his scenes thinking like "omg not him again hahahhahahahaa...." lol that was so stupid.
I liked how the lil' girl was telling about youtube all the time LOL
The drama starts off interestingly but the focus of it is the romance so it doesn't explore the frozen people concept which is quite sad.
The end was too predictable.
But overall it's a nice pass-time drama. Not bad and not good

P.S. this is just my opinion, you may really like this drama if you watch or you may hate it. So you can just try it out and see :)

Underrated drama

I really liked this drama and don’t understand why it is so hated by many. I don’t watch Kdrama for the credibility but for the entertainment value, maybe that’s it. The. Leads had great chemistry, I love Ji Chang Wook, whose eyes can tell stories and Won Jin Ah who was so good in Just between Lovers. The only thing I really disliked was the crass comedic acting of some of the comic reliefs. If you can get over that in the first episodes, it is an interesting concept with romantic and funny moments. I am happy that I started it despite the poor reviews.

I'll be honest, I was expecting something better, especially because it was the first drama of my beloved Ji Chang Wook after his returning from the enlistments. Turns out, even with all the eye-candy, swoon moments with our main lead and great acting from Chang Wook, I can't bypass the fact that this drama is just... failure, tbh.
I started watching it as soon s it came out. I dragged myself through it to the 12 ep and than, I dropped it. Just recently, I've finished it (thanks to my on-going exams and desperate need to procrastinate) and maybe it's because of long break, but I've enjoy the end much more than the past ten episode.
The thing that turned me off the most at the beginning was very VERY poor editing work. The passes from one scene to another in most cases were too rush, not smooth enough, they were lacking stages that could show for example how the heros came from one place to another, how they react to some situation. Instead it was like: one scene with phone call, clap, another scene in some dfferent place with two people talking. Not much consistance, a lot of whiplash.
Second, the plot - after first episode I was simply bored, the race to catch a bad guy didn't particlary excited me and when whole premise was solved by 13 or 14 episode, the rest plot was being unnecessary drag out to maintain the typical 16 ep duration. And than the end was so rushed and didn't give much needed glimpse of a new life of our main leads that I was just dissapointed, and not really satisfied with the end result.
The acting wasn't really good either. I really like both of the main actors, I thing they skills are really great, but with this drama, I think they couldn't really showcase much of their acting abilities. Plus, the chemeitry was lacking that special spark and thus their relationship on screen wasn't really convincing to me.

Watch Only If You Are a Fan of Ji Chang Wook

I only watched this drama to see Ji Chang Wook. As always he does a good job to portray the character who was frozen for 20 years and woke up just as handsome together with a female volunteer of experiment played by Won Jin-A. The chemistry between the two fairly good but but fail to hold it's passion consistently throughout especially during the last 3 episodes as Won Jin-A was frozen again and poor JCW had to wait another 3 years for her to awake.
After being frozen for 20 years and additional 3 years, surprisingly the heroine still not in a hurry to marry and want to experience more on developing her own self. Luckily JCW character is understanding, compromises and supports her dreams. Somehow, towards the end the mutual love and passion did not seem quite balanced. Happy ending, overall a drama one can watch if there is no other interesting dramas to watch. Strictly for fans of JCW advisable.

I was just like..I could feel evry moment in it...

This drama just melt my Heart...Dong chans care for Mi Ran I liked the most..

This drama caught my attention only becsuse the role called dong chan...chang wook really a great actor I have to admit that...

Though I Don't know such a guy like dong chan does exist or not...but trust me..I don't thik theres any good example of a perfect guy other than dong chan..

From the very start...when he was convincing Mi Ran for the experiment...When he saw that she is crying..he changed his mind..and stoped forcing her...

After woking up after 20 years....He took all the responsbillites for her...He always took care of her...just evry single moment...And they fell in love..

A girl doesn't want much from a guy...His sincere Love snd Care Respect for her...And thats enough fot win over a girl...I think dong chan does more than this...

I admit that this story lacking so many things..
but still this dong chan charecter is the only reason I watched it....
