An interesting plot + Thai Lakorn logic = Average Drama

Yes the plot of Mia Archeep was kinda interesting. Honestly I thought this was gonna be more like The Cupid Series, because of the synopsis but it wasn't.
The ML ,Dit, gets an offer by a business associate, Robert, who apart from his cosmetics company also runs a matchmaking project called the Plan. What Robert actually does is that he takes desperate girls like the FL, Dao, and makes them sign contracts so that they are forced to participate in the Plan. He falsifies their backgrounds and makes them marry these rich CEOs and later blackmails them into spying for him on their husbands (basically corporate espionage) to make money. Dit gets catfished by Dao (on Robert's orders) and joins the Plan. He later falls for her but doesn't know whether she really loves him or not.
The drama started off pretty good with the leads being wary but flirty with each other (The leads had pretty good chemistry, so did Phupha and Kot). But the later episodes started to drag quite a lot. There were a lot of scenes which could have been cut to give more time to resolve all the issues and misunderstanding. Apart from this there were 2 things that really bugged me-
1) Most of the female characters in this drama were either pretty bad or greatly flawed. Dao regardless of her situation was deceitful, Jarunee was greedy and scheming, Walai wasn't particularly bad but she wasn't likable either, Ann was downright obsessive and annoying, Kot was haughty and unnecessarily insulting and Maeta was a bootlicker, rude and disloyal. I don't know what's with Thai Lakorns but they will either show the female characters as naive and innocent who get manhandled or as complete b*tches who are jealous, greedy or vengeful. Fortunately most male characters were pretty good and the ML, although a bit obsessive/possessive, was not full of toxic masculinity.
2) I got a serious case of second male-lead syndrome. The second lead, Nam, was an exceptionally great guy till the end and the writers of the show did him dirty. I guess many fans are saying that he deserved the FL more than the ML. I disagree. In my opinion the FL did not deserve a great guy like him (she kept stringing him along and gave him false hope) and they should have totally gotten a great female character in the show just for him. I wish for the producers to make a spin-off with him as the ML (Nam deserves his own lakorn).
Overall, Mia Archeep, although a bit draggy (and I kind of might have fast forwarded certain scenes), is a pretty good show to watch in your downtime.

Good chemistry.

The story on it's own is wild, you have a girl that is doing a job because she really has no other choice and this rich CEO of course that happen to fall together by "fate" and they fall in love but it's never that easy because you can't build a foundation off of lies. You basically have this innocent girl that's trying to do what she needs to do so she can survive, so her family can survive and etc. She's strong, a great worker, all in all, a bad betch. The male lead isn't terrible, minus being so possessive, that part is kind of aggravating but he's a workaholic, all around good guy and he really just falls in love and he falls hard, for good reasoning and you have 2 people that are in love but nobody wants to see them together and again, you just don't know what you're really getting into. But the truth always prevails and unfortunately, everything is your average thai lakorn lol you got bad guys, bad family members, people getting shot, hired hit people trying to come at them and that's what honestly makes it average. lol.

The chemistry the main leads have was outrageous, I loved it, they had great cute moments, I felt bad for the SL, like major SLS but also, he should've known better so it kind of annoyed me and also the girl that was in love with the ML. They all played major and perfect parts but I wish they would've connected the SML and SFL and let them fall in love instead of them RUINING EVERYONE ELSES LIFE. Lol.

The music was fantastic, I loved it.

I wouldn't rewatch it, I kind of struggled watching it tbh but I don't regret watching it at all.

Overall, it was a good show. I liked that the male lead actually wasn't terrible and too toxic. I liked that the female lead was strong and did her best. I liked the SML because he was sweet. The families were pretty okay minus the bad ones lol but I liked that even though it was built off lies, they were trying their best to be honest and true. I liked that both of them wanted a positive outlook, especially the FL and that's kind of what makes the difference. Like she really wasn't trying to be bad, the ML wasn't trying to be mad and etc. It was overall, not a bad show at all.

GREAT CHEMISTRY AND STORY. MAKE SURE TO FINISH IT FOR YOU TO UNDERSTAND EVERYTHING!

This is the first time I wrote a review for MDL, specifically a lakorn. I gave this story high ratings because it satisfies me. The story has some lapses (the lapses are why Dit gets swayed easily by Dao? Did Dit's parent knows that Dao is pregnant? Did they get the justice for Dao's father?) but the way it is narrated for me is very well and understandable. The narration itself for me is good, to the point that you will not get upset in a whole episode, an episode can deliver a lot of emotions. The chemistry of FL and ML was there. They portrayed their characters very well (hoping for another lakorn). Yes, the visual of the FL is spectacular—to the point that whatever wardrobe you gave to her, she'll be able to carry it flawlessly. And yes, the ML's visual is nothing compared to the second ML, however, the ML has this oozing sex appeal. He has this appeal that will make you and get you swayed again and again.

To explain further why I like the story, it is because it's realistic. Simple as that. Okay, let's start with FL's side (Dao). If you are in Dao's position, you will do everything to get money for your father to pay his hospital bills and earn more, right? And if you are in this position, you won't be able to think properly to the point that you are willing to do everything to get money and to save your father's life. Yes, she's been lying the whole time but remember that she's doing that for the sake of his father. However, she felt guilty for her wrongdoings, which is very realistic as well, right? If you did something bad, won't you feel guilty? After all, before the drama ends, Dao corrected the mistakes and problems she did and brought in Dit's life.

For Dit's side. I know everyone gets annoyed with him from episode 13 up until the last episode of it but he has the right to get annoyed and be annoying. HE HAS ALL THE RIGHTS. Listen, if you are in his position, you will definitely get mad because imagine, the person you are about to live with the rest of your life has been lying to you all the time. You don't even know the basic information about her/him. Apart from you are not sure if she's really in love with you, right? However, even if he's annoying the whole time, you can't change the fact that he really loves Dao, even he has pushed away and fooled many times. That's very commendable. It's just that Dao needs to be true to herself for once.

For the second male lead, you know, it's very obvious that they want us to have this "second ML syndrome", which is not surprising anymore because it makes that drama exciting and fun. They always made the Second ML 100x better than the female lead. It's kinda sad that he doesn't have any partner here but it's fine that he didn't end up with the FL because if ever that happens, then it would be an epic one. Second ML deserves better than the FL. I hope that they would create a sequel to it.

Yeah, I won't spoil anymore but this drama has a nice team, super duper OST, and great chemistry. Finished it so you'll know why I recommend it. Another thing, it's a drama. If you get annoyed, upset and etc. while watching it then it satisfies you. Because that's the purpose of it, they want you to feel what the characters feel. So if you get annoyed or upset, continue it. You won't know what happens next if you stop.

self centered female lead

i have listened about this drama many times and after i decided to watch
female lead in the drama was only for crying she was self centered always and most probably she hurted second male lead and main lead equally. she hided everything and still many episodes she was just confused and using both leads and playing with their emotions
she slept with male lead and still she was rememembering about her boss saying. whenever malelead aksed about her problems and she was like statue which irritates audience a lot. second male lead was soo god that he deservesd someone who is better than female lead. male lead pays 10 miilion for contract and he clearly stated that he can do anything with her but he will not have to marry that confused audience a lot ( obviously anything means he was allowed to sleep with her but still she was unknown ) after proposing her he slept with her ...and story was not connecting with eachother

Prang Kannarun is beautiful. I'm not much into Mai Warit, though. Either way, she is (secretly) paid to date him (even gets bigger money if she marries him... some weird set-up by character played by David Asavanond, who managed to cram himself into a suit for this role) while also being his secretary. I thought either she dates him or works for him, I didn't like mixing the two things up, even if she was just hired to do it.

It is extremely easy for a girl with looks of Prang Kannarun to perform her task (I think she has a hospitalized loved one she needs the money for), the guy is interested in her right away. He ostentatiously fights over her (not a fistfight, of course) with Ball Jitpanu's character but, as I don't like Mai Warit, I rather felt mischievously pleased whenever Ball Jitpanu's character was winning. Not that I like Ball Jitpanu that much better, but Mai Warit was the girl's boss at the same time so I found it uncomfortable that he was after her. But, like I mentioned, the girl had her own agenda. Maybe there was some comfort in that:)

Yes, it's definitely refreshing that this nang'ek doesn't act like a saint. She is not the loud and screaming type, either. The actress is almost 30 so it's good the role fits her (I was tired of watching 28-29 year old actresses potraying nang'eks who were NEVER kissed, lol).

The main guy I find so little attractive that I would prefer even Ball Jitpanu to him also runs a SUCCESSFUL company, despite the company being named 'Way Ex'. The way thai "understand" english is always funny, so one should not get distracted by that, lol.

I must say watching the main girl working as a secretary while her boss, her colleague, her boss' mother and her boss' girl/friend all pestered her was a strain. These 4 people say such things to her that if I heard just one of them said to me in a workplace it would make me leave immediatelly without notice, even forfeiting my money. Of course the reason the girl put up with that was she was obliged to her real boss, who hired her to get close to the guy. Still I thought that could be achieved by many other ways than working at his office. This irritated me as I am quite sensitive to "work dramas";)

Anyways, after such workday, when her boss was all trying to date her in the evening, I just found it rather creepy. Meanwhile, there is yet another desperate rival girl who is after the main guy AFTER he repeatedly rejected her for no reason at all (she's got similar looks to Prang Kannarun, and is available without any hassle). She, also for no reason at all, acts like he's the only guy in the world and of course she must be fighting against the main girl nonstop, which is just silly and tiring. Plus she drags along her gay friend, who of course is supposed to be funny (and isn't, much). Perhaps I sound bored but it's 2020 (2021 for me, even) and obviously writers STILL didn't update the scriptwriting style.

The two leads are seen jogging together and having breakfast, for us to understand they are getting closer. Then during dinner, he asks her to be his gf. I just didn't see how it fits together with them playing total master & servant in his posh office during daytime, but never mind, the plot was about her hidden agenda, here. Then tragedy strikes and she needs a million baht (lol) IMMEDIATELLY to save her gravely ill father, so there's no more time for playing. The beloved daddy is everything to our nang'ek, she states she would make an agreement with a devil himself if she had to. So, there comes the "devil" played by David Asavanond... LOL.

Then the hidden agenda stays no longer secret, as nang'ek is offered for a price to pra'ek. To be fair, it's possible that nang'ek's dad's illness was caused by chemicals used by pra'ek's company, but still this is a blow to him. He gets drunk, looks like he's lost his hope in her but then he hears Ball Jitpanu's character is lining up to buy the girl, too. So he buys her first. Even sets a clause in the contract that she must live with him and that he can sleep with her even without wedding, lol. The competition with the other guy seems very important to pra'ek.

But then, we're at episode 5 out of 19. After paying MILLIONS for the girl to BELONG to him, she still attends the office, talks to the other guy portrayed by Ball Jitpanu, that stays on. Pra'ek first looks like he'd drag nang'ek into his bed immediatelly then says he was kidding and decides to take things slow, that stays on. The runnings with the jealous other girl stay on... It felt so dramatic at the end of the 4th episode when pra'ek first learned the truth about under which status the girl actually approached him, but somehow all that mellowed down to a dragging usual thing with each side-actor keeping their recurring appearance in prolonging the screentime, the main couple navigating in between them in usual "step forth - step back" bickering courtship stretched to as many episodes as possible.

That's what's obviously awaiting us: when by the end of episode 5, nang'ek is buying groceries saying she would COOK for pra'ek, but that's IT. Later she'll get a proper job and pay the money back. LOL. Somehow the carefree atmospehere settling in did not correspond much with the fact that pra'ek just paid a sum of money she was not going to earn back in her lifetime, or 2 lifetimes. That if he hadn't, someone she loves would die. That she should not as much as LOOK at other guys now. No, she laughs with her friend, shrugs her shoulders and gets him a frozen takeaway meal. Why should she bother cooking?

If there is a "drama" to be had, then it would come from loud screaming females. It's either praek's aunty or his other girl. Engaging in many loud screaming scenes with our nang'ek. Why did they bother with this lakorn having more interesting plot than usual, when we practically don't work with it and just watch the usual henhouse? Probably the runtime stretch. I guess we might get to the plot back later in some episodes nearing the final.

So. Next episodes follow this pattern. I do understand they need to fill the screentime and employ all the side actors. It doesn't make sense for nang'ek who was BOUGHT by pra'ek to keep "working" at his office, but we need to see the other secretary (with nang'ek onboard, pra'ek has double secretaries) to employ the side-actress. We also employ Ball Jitpanu so he actually shares some scenes nang'ek should normally have with pra'ek, to still be a part of her story (and he is just as likeable a guy as pra'ek is... also double). We employ the rival girl and her gay friend... We employ the hysterical aunty role. Nobody cares if it makes sense.

Then SLAP/KISS begins. It's not a good kiss. It's a bad slap. Nang'ek says to pra'ek that he doesn't own her. Except he DOES. I'm sorry, but it's stupid. This world is full of even more beautiful girls than she is and she got paid millions just for nothing. Then she acts all offended. It's ridiculous. She either needs to experience more hardship besides the silly scenes with her home-invading loan shark, or she should keep those in mind. Nevertheless, Prang Kannarun cried half that episode. Her eyes were not red but there was impressive amount of water coming out of them. I wonder which technique did the make-up use.

Episode 8 she finally visits her dad, who says such heartbreaking things like he'd like to hug her every day, like when she was little. Prang Kannarun then cries a lot of her onscreen tears again, but I wondered if this finally should put the character she portrays in more perspective. The person to witness this visit is of course not pra'ek, but the second lead. I say this double-script involving surplus characters shall prove double-edged sword later. Pra'ek cannot develop that much connection with nang'ek if he has to share with one other person. After all, the leading couple should be the people who get close the most.

Besides that, nang'ek tries to investigate if praek's company really harmed her dad, and she thinks she'll find the company's compromising documents in pra'ek's bedroom. I'd think if someone really knows about this it would be praek's dad, morelike. Moreover, I think putting stupid plots like this in romantic lakorns is rather a disservice. I wished they'd put more energy in building the relationship. If they wanted to add something they should find a really hot guy to be the pra'ek and not Mai Warit. As for Prang Kannarun, she's really cute, even more without heavy make-up on. That's true beauty. Pitty the nang'ek she portrays is "smart" enough to use her mobile phone to sneak some pictures from pra'ek's company folders, but apparently not enough to realize she should tell him the truth about couple of things, now when he already tells her that he loves her.

Episode 10 out of 19 he even proposes to her. Then I thought she definitely had to talk to him, to clear with him before entering marriage else I could not approve. Of course things are more complicated as she's got the deal with David Asavanond's match-guy with millions at stake. But she is lucky to have rich suitor enough to pay it. She even has 2 to choose from: might as well have picked the other pra'ek portrayed by Ball Jitpanu.

Episode 11: I'm seriously bored. I don't care for any of the side-characters, like both the annoying aunties...
And I don't care for the main couple either, I'm not into Mai Warit. I don't feel the need to see all 19 episodes.

All about the complications and senses !

Finally, I just finished 19 episodes of my long awaiting drama. The reason for my waiting is Prang Kannarun Wongkajornklai (FL). I am her fan (because she is beautiful)…

My reviews are:

1.Sins to be beautiful…hahahah…I pitied our FL because she was being used because she is pretty. Then, has a chaos life because of 2 over the top suitors. And of course, from my jealously for their flawless skins (+ the magnificient camera use), good body figure and their faces..Finally, I swear that their skins are flawless.

2. Fashions…..I gave applaud to all the costume director/stylist/make up artist or everyone for beautiful design, clothes and accessories in this drama. The clothes selected for every characters are amazingly good and beautiful. I think all the fashion selected are the main trend in Thailand. Even, the poor characters get a beautiful clothes.

3. Mai Warit Sirisantana…..This guy is underrated. I never realized that he has sweet smile and he is never around my radar. He always in lakorn drama and I really don’t like this genre. However, Warit as Khun Dit make me fall in love with his beautiful smile. The character suit him and he is good. Hopefully, he can act in drama which can display his sweet smile..+ our FL,Prang which is beautiful like a goddess. But, being pretty cannot cover her some awkward act in this drama..However, her act is okay for me…

4. Bloodline inheritance war…This is a common genre in dramaland. On this contrary for this drama, only 1 greedy aunt make all the drama. Anyway, this war always end bad.

5. High class Match Making Program….This is a new topic that I found so illogical to know. A plan to produced a perfect wife for rich man with BIG payment. It feel like another class of prostitution for me. Even so, this is a new ‘trash’ knowledge for me that never been found in others drama.

SECOND LEAD SYNDROME

Too many characters to cheer in this drama..Ted, Khun Nam and Khun Dit are the top tier. Sometimes, I cheer for Khun Nam, then I love our Khun Dit and sometimes I wish Ted is straight. However, Khun Dit with His smile and kindness captured my heart and there is another episode without SLS for me.

ABOUT THE DRAMA

Used my 48 hours to finish this drama are worthy enough. So, I give 9/10 to this beautiful drama even the drama becoming a little bit drag in 2/3 last episodes. Everything are amazing directed, good writing + script and there are twists everywhere in this drama.

This drama full with sweetness, a brave FL then a kind ML, good friends and family etc. It 80 % different from others drama. Revenge but there is no revenge, lakorn but the is not slap-kiss-rape scene, kind Second Lead hero, new ‘trash’ knowledges for society and others. I feels good when watch this drama even with typical genre in dramaland.

The actors are amazing. Every each of the characters created well by the writer. In the nutshell, this drama is good. I will rewatch again from ep 1 until 19 because it is good…

However, there are some ridiculous scene in this drama:

Clothes for secretary- I never knew that a secretary can wear fancy clothes like our FL..
2 executives in 1 room- Parents of ML always had scene in office together but only the father has a table.
Money exchange-The transaction of money always involve millions..2 millions, 5 millions, 10 millions.
Background music- Every second per frame + loud enough to make my heart and brain sync together with them.
etc…..

But, there are my wishes for this drama:

Where is the FL’s baby bump?
At the end, Ted is straight which he and Ann is together.
or Khun Nam with Ann
What is FL’s dad function in this drama?

Hahahahahah..Whatever it is, the drama is love. Good Luck!
